Are you sure it's unacceptable? It might be to you and it might be to me, but what evidence is there that it's unacceptable to the people who actually make decisions?

I speak for myself. It is unacceptable.

If we are counting on Belmont we are already fucked.

Again, I agree with you that we are trending in the right direction. We can not regress.

This loss was due to coaching. Period.

Mack Brown won the national championship in his eighth season at Texas. He won the Rose Bowl in his seventh season. He lost five in a row to OU in the run up to 2005.

Tom Herman took a program coming off its worst three consecutive seasons in history and has two bowl wins against SEC teams, one of which was the Sugar Bowl.

Losing to OU sucks, for sure. But lets not pretend this year, or next year, or even the next year is make or break for Tom Herman.

    He's right on track.

Texas will win another national championship before aggy wins the SEC.

Mack should not be the measuring stick. Losing 5 in a row to OU is unacceptable. 2 conference  championships in 16 years is unacceptable. Comparing Texas to Agricultural and Maintenance is unacceptable.

We are on track, however, Saturday was a step back.  Lets pray we get our shit together. We did not fire on all cylinders on Saturday. In large part due to coaching. Period.

I have to chuckle at you Texas fans.  Flame away.  That’s fine.  But you have a great coach.  He took over for a coach that had stopped recruiting and the team slid.  That’s what happens in CFB.  Now you have a coach that has gotten progressively better,  AND is recruiting like a beast, and some of you want him out.  The teams that fail are the ones that don’t let it germinate IF your recruiting is going well. It’s all about SUSTAINED success, and that takes stability.  I know our rival would LOVE to have your coach as opposed to Helton.  Hell, we thought we hit a grand slam with Chip, and he’s the worst coach in our history.  And our recruiting is in the shitter.  We have 10 years to get right.  You guys may be one be one year away.  Maybe two.  I would get on my knees to have Herman as our coach.

This is a good outsiders view. Thanks.

I think most of us are scratching our heads trying to understand what went wrong here. Herman is an offensive guy. Typically credited as being innovative.  Yesterday was anything but that...it was predictable. GDGD like.

Here are some things that I don't think have been discussed.

    1. We brought in the Rutgers coach to help us gameplan. WTF? Why?

    2. During the WV post game presser Herman said he didn't know who the next opponent was and that he had to be reminded it was OU.  I thought "coach speak" at the time. Now I am actually convinced he didn't know...which tells me we haven't been prepping for OU.  Is this game not circled on the schedule?

I guarantee you OU worked on our game every week. They played like it.

    3. During Thursdays presser Herman said they only practiced 90 minutes. Cut practice short. Why?  Did anyone else find this odd?

    4. Our players talked a lot of shit. Why did Herman allow that?

    5.  OU approached this game as a must win. We did not. Why? Last year we did.

  4. Riding DART back to downtown. This is almost as bad as our playcalling and shitty kickoff returns.  Riley just dragged his nuts across Hermans face. Out coached. We held them under 40. Enough to win. Ou was the aggressor.  I thought GD Greg Davis was calling the plays. Need to watch the tape, but CATCH THE FUCKING Ball. Tackling was shit.

Except you may believe it from those two.  FUPM rolled into Dallas pissing his pants.  Every damn year.  You could see it on his face.  Even years he won, he looked more relieved than anything.  He didn't even say the right things 'weather the storm'.  LOL, WTF?  Be the storm, you soft serve pussy

This. Out of Rep. Get you later.

    ATTITUDE.

How great is it that those days are over.

    Fuck OU.

Hurts is nowhere near the scrambler Murray is, but he's far more reliable, sturdy, and IMO a better manager and "big game" kind of guy. Murray's more talented, but I'd take Hurts any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'd rather be playing against Murray -- the odds of rattling him weren't all that great, but they were better than the odds of rattling Hurts.

    Agree.

Murray is the quickest, most elusive we have seen. We never seemed to get solid shots on him. No one did.

Their line was better last year and that helped.  That line isn't the same this year.  I think we get to Hurts. When we do we have to hit him. Pressure and tackling is the key.

One thought, Hurts doesnt have the Bama line hes used too against good opponents and the OU hasn't played a front like Texas. If Kansas can presure him...

I think this is the key to the game. 1. Get to him 2. How he handles the pressure.

We need Orlando to earn it on Saturday.

Hurts is bigger and stronger, but

At first I just glossed over this. Then I looked at it again. And again. I had to be sure what I was seeing. It seems like they were avoiding the play. A lot of questions in that shot. Were they in “quit mode”, or what? Mind bottling.

Your post made me go look. 21 to 17 with 10;34 to go in the 3rd. Whaley TD from the 11 yard line. Unbelievable. We should show that to recruits because that is some weak ass shit. Rough tough real stuff.

Yeah, that line stuck out like a sore thumb.

They aren't even remotely becoming Texas. Texas is self-critical in a continuous quest for excellence. Texas fans have been bitching about a bloated athletics administration for a decade, and are ready to flay any coach who mails it in without a second thought. Meanwhile aggy would rather die than admit they've made any mistakes, and make idols of any coach wearing maroon.

The reason there's trophies in one school's hall of fame, and a lost John Travolta in the other, is that only one of those schools is a cult instead of a university.

This is the correct analysis. You nailed it. That is why those dipshits did $75 Million guaranteed. No possible way Jizzbo won't work out.

Can't wait to see what it takes for them to get the next coach.

She has an exaggerated sense of self worth. She makes wildly bold claims and belittles anyone that challenges her. If they persist in their challenges, she will take her ball and go home. Only to return when tensions have subsided

So, basically, she is the perfect aggy.

Lol.You guys realize you're posting made up crap from a longhorn site that got the story completely wrong Right? This is what happens when dumb rumors on message boards take on a life of their own. Entertaining but WRONG.

This time's a thousand. It's so disappointing to see so many trip all over themselves at a ridiculously exaggerated rumor and want to think/assume things are falling apart. You do realize that this is 1000% Longhorn exaggerates and that the Texas coaches are actively trying to spin this to prospects this week. The little scabs in their recruiting offices are probably screenshotting 'TexAgs' as we speak for 'proof.'

And we have our own sitting here going "Someone needs to ask Jimbo damnit!!!" as if there's some sort of meltdown that 'demands addressing!'

This sense of doom and panic is all so crazy to me. Even I'm kind of stunned by it, to be honest. Team that lost its three best players on offense and had a couple of disastrous injuries, lost six of its seven best players on D and lost two games to top-10 (including No 1) early in the season and everyone forgets last year's finish, the way they're recruiting, the head coach's track record and everything else along the way because, well, a team repacking a LOT hasn't been very impressive against arguably one of the best offenses and perhaps the best team in the country and a team LOADED with veterans on defense that did the same thing to a projected top-10 draft pick at QB and boasts arguably the best defensive front in college football.

We wanted the Ags to be better early in the season. They haven't been due on large part to self-inflicted mistakes. They'll get better. I get the frustration. But some of you have got to stop. Seriously. It's ridiculous.

The fight? One player - a youngster - didn't handle the loss or being taken out of the game well. One guy. A couple of veterans put him in check (it was actually in no way physical) and that's that. Actually made me feel good about to hear that. Tells me that the locker room is EXACTLY where you want it. Elam wasn't involved in any way, so that part was wrong too.
