I keep reading how the aggy OL is going to maul people and have a stout run game, but which good defenses did they have success running on last year? Texas "physically annihilated" them. I don't remember them doing much against ND. LSU and Florida had garbage defenses last year. Can't remember in the Auburn and SC losses. I guess they looked good at home against that clown Drinkwitz and Missouri.

Not really fall camp related, but OSU DT Eddrick Houston just went down in practice with an apparent lower leg injury. Couch pyros already losing their shit as he's arguable the most irreplaceable part of their D.
I checked out the tOSU board and one of the posters said they saw the video of it and it was non-contact.

I’ll start with what was ultra-obvious to me on the first day:
Texas is an extremely talented squad. Extremely.
Yes, that was expected.
But I’m not sure even folks who have been watching Texas this long understand just how rare this is.
Everywhere you look on the practice field, it feels like there’s a player who is almost assuredly going to be playing pro football one day.
If there are three players gathered together, at least one is a future NFL pick and, odds are, two will be.
I sat there and watched Cole Brevard, Maraad Watson and Josiah Sharma in a three-man drill yesterday. All of them are pro-caliber prospects, each are at different stages of their college careers.
You venture over to look at the offensive line and two of the players you immediately notice are true freshmen Nick Brooks and Jackson Christian.
It’s the same at every position..
Texas is absolutely loaded.
After one day of practice, I’m more convinced than ever that the biggest key for this season will simply be for a relatively young team to execute at a level that matches the team’s talent. If they match their talent level, there’s no telling where this team could go.
**
This next statement may take some by surprise but I’m going to go ahead and put it out there.
From top to bottom, this is the most talented freshman class I’ve ever seen at Texas.
I’ve been doing this 30+ years. I’ve seen them all, so I don’t make this statement lightly.
Now, I don’t know if there’s a Vince Young in the class per se, but the depth of this class is just on another level. This group reminds me of what we would see at LSU, Alabama or Georgia during their heydays.
They’re big, strong, fast, athletic.
Let’s see if their play and dedication to their craft over time matches up. They have to go out and prove they are more than merely talented.
But the talent itself, this freshman group absolutely oozes it.

Sark revealed something at yesterday afternoon’s post-practice press conference that I found astonishing.
Who was the player who led the team on Tuesday night in a discussion?
Arch Manning? Anthony Hill? Michael Taaffe?
No. According to Sark, it was CJ Baxter.
Baxter, despite his injury which Sark says has him at about “80-percent” right now, is a team leader.
That speaks volumes about the young man. Injury or not, he’s a leader and a great teammate.
We're either going to be celebrating a CFP Championship at the end of the season, or extremely disappointed. The way OTF is writing thus far, there is no in between.
That's a lot of words from Bobby to say "Show me a loss".

CB is my biggest spot of concern this season, if there really even is one. Barron was an eraser last year, so I would think there will be a drop off at his spot, especially in run support and in the physicality department. Obviously, hard to replace the Thorpe winner. Manny is solid but got lost at times. I think he will continue to improve and be better this season.
I hope Guilbeau lives up to the hype this year. We always hear how good he looks in practice, but honestly I haven't been too impressed with him during games. I think he is okay, but was expecting more from past reports. The good news is, there appears to be plenty of capable talent behind him if he doesn't perform.
Yeah that's my biggest worry at tOSU game one against that WR group. Them having an inexperienced QB and our pass rush may negate it though. We'll see.

Sorry for the derail, but I saw RSJ and I thought Ricky Seals-Jones.

What a recruiting class that was, and much of those guys did nothing.
Wow. You weren't kidding. That state of Texas group was pretty much a Jurassic Park pile of shit

They currently have fifteen commits and are ranked #40 in recruiting. The QB from Celina is the highest rated commit and is a top 100 national player. Of the remaining fourteen, seven are low 4*'s and the other seven are 3*'s (this includes a kicker). When's the last time they had a class this bad?
