Pierce was not a great talent evaluator to start, deciding to be the pitching coach this year was the death blow to the season and his job.
Even if you're the best pitching coach in the world, what would make you think you can hold down two jobs and do them both well?
-
Good news is things can change on a dime next year. All we need is rid of Pierce and one good portal transfer class.

Forget the scoreboard at this point. I just want to see some life from someone.

Is the run rule in effect tonight?

I went to a Tuesday game about 10 years ago. There was me and about 20 other fans in attendance. A foul ball comes my way. Lands a couple rows back. I’m pumped. Been trying to get one of those fuckers since I was 5. Right as I snagged it some little snot nosed kid walks up and goes “can I have it?” We were on the video screen and everything. I didn’t want to cough it up but I had to.
Sill fucking pisses me off. Perfect representation of the pussification of America. Back in the day, you had to hop into a pile of white trash that reeked of bourbon and Copenhagen and hope you didn’t get shanked just for a foul ball. Now a kid just had to be in the vicinity and I’m somehow the asshole if I don’t fork the ball over.
I read this in the voice of Bill Burr in my mind and it was perfect.

We wouldn't hire Urban Meyer or Art Briles or Joe Paterno (if he were alive).

I guess we really dodged a bullet when CDC went all out to hire Urban Meyer and whiffed.

Some of y'all are delusional. Aggy is currently attracting a top-5 recruiting class to College Stagnation after an 8-4 season. How else do you explain it other than $$? For those of you splitting hairs about "fair money" vs "cheating money", you obviously still haven't grasped the reality of the new era we are in. Either sit on the sideline in your pristine white uniform, seething in righteous indignation, or get in the fucking game and get dirty.

Now we'll see what happens when blOwU goes on the open market for a coach.
What's John Blake doing these days?

The movable object met the resistable force, and our losing inertia proved the greater.

Here's a fun question. What score in today's game would give you renewed confidence in Sark's coaching regime?
The most lopsided score in college football history was 222-0. Would that do it?
-
I don't know about coaching, but Sark gives a hell of a press conference. He says all the right things, with a lot of polish.

No, it's not that simple. How do you explain our perennial top-10-rated recruiting classes?
Furthermore... Why should we need UGA, Bama or Ohio State's roster to beat Baylor?

Please explain the second half collapses. Remember, the same players were on the field in the first half.
Look at any game between a good team and a vastly inferior one. The first half is often close. The separation usually occurs in the second half.

agreed - this has been a problem for some time now. Why is this suddenly now an issue?
Do we also need a Bob Cole sucks thread now?
It's not suddenly an issue for me. I have griped about it before and will continue to do so. Our athletic department wastes money on stupid shit, instead of spending on things that improve competitiveness.

We don’t have a separate AD for women’s sports. CDC is the AD for all sports, women and men.
I stand corrected. Until 2017, she was "women's athletics director". Now she's "Chief of Staff & Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director". Whatever it is, she's redundant.

I'm all for firing Plonsky, but what's the connection between her and our football team shitting its shorts for a month now? I know we're in the anger stage of grief here, but are we just lashing out at shit in general now?
It exemplifies the bureaucratic bloat and misplaced priorities of the athletic department. Why the fuck do we need a separate AD for women's sports when no other athletic department in the country has one? It was a bad idea 30 years ago, and it's a bad idea now.

Will Sark show any anger at the post-game press conference?

More creativity, guys. We don't want to look bad in the rollbamaroll meltdown thread.

You came here expecting objectivity? Look at the name of the web site. We're fucking surly. GTFO with that shit.

Nope. I recall both Kirk Bohls and Cedric Golden reported in AA-S that CDC told them that Herman would be back this year.
I'll just quote myself, here's what I said at the time, which turned out to be correct:
QuoteHow do you explain away this quote from the article? Maybe this is some Bill Clinton-style BS; technically Herman could be fired January 2 and it'd be true.
Quote"Tom Herman is our coach moving forward into the 2021 season".
The meaning depends on what your definition of "is" is. Thanks, Bill Clinton.
QuoteCould be a simple CYA move, to distance himself from Herman. Let people know that he isn't satisfied with Herman's performance. Still trying to get a replacement behind the scenes, but hedging in case he can't get it done.
QuoteTom Herman: Look motherfucker, all this rumor-mongering about Urban Meyer is destroying our recruiting class. If you actually want me to be able to do my job, you need to stop the bleeding.
CDC (to Tom Herman): I'll take care of it.
CDC (to intern): Write me a press release that could be interpreted by naïve people (e.g. high school athletes) or stupid/lazy fuckers (e.g. FCB) as supporting Tom Herman, but doesn't make me a liar if any of these coaching options for next year end up panning out.
