i get where you are going but that's a horrific comparison because there literally is no comparison between Anthony Richardson and any other player drafted. RAS = Relative Athletic Score and tries to compare how athletic players are between positions and years.

Richardson has a 10.00 RAS, which is #1 out of 916 QBs in their database back to 87

BUT what's more impressive than the perfect 10 RAS is that he would have that perfect 10 RAS (so the 100th percentile overall) at QB, RB, WR, LB, CB, FS and SS. so literally the 100th percentile for those positions

here is where he would score at the positions he wasn't the most athletic player in the last 35 years, where he is still incredibly athletic for any of those at over a 9.7 for everywhere but OT lol

His scores at the 6 spots he doesn't have a 10.00 at-

    • TE- 9.84
    • OT- 9.00
    • OG- 9.70
    • C- 9.86
    • DE- 9.87
    • DT- 9.87

there is no QB like him ever in NFL draft history: https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/anthony-richardson

most comparable QB is Cam Newton who is only like 70% of what Richardson is. the most comparable players across the board are Jonathan Mingo (96.4%) and Khalil Mack (89.8%)

    image.thumb.png.2928c8c8dfe522ea6fdcaee9b73c541e.png

Deion isn't in the dataset but his 10 yard split on his 40 faster than Deion (1.52 vs 1.53), their 20 Split is the same (2.56) but Deion is much faster in the last 20 (4.29 vs 4.3) - which is reasonable since Richardson has 62 pounds and like 5" on the guy.

tl;dr - don't use Anthony Richardson as draft comparison for any player anywhere ever.

And yet most of that has very little to do with playing the most important position in football.

Once he gets better vision of the hole and hits them with the acceleration and size he has he's doing to be damn good....and that will come IMO.

Problem is, we need it now. He certainly isn't as good as I expected him to be. He is a physical specimen though.

Idk that it’s the breaking tackles thing it’s that he doesn’t have contact balance like Roschon Bijan and Jonathon. Contact balance is a learnable thing, he doesn’t just fall down when touched, but he doesn’t use contact as an anticipatory trajectory change for balance. It’s like judo but for running backs. We just happened to have 3 contact balance black belts.

I understand what you are saying and agree however if he gets hit and goes to the ground, he isn't really breaking tackles. JB is fantastic at taking glancing blows and keeping his feet. I think he is better at that than Bijan. Bijan was just outright making people miss completely. My point is, CB4 needs those blows to be glancing so he can keep his balance, he gets blasted on the regular. This is big boy football, not high school.

Blue looks like average RB size to me.  He really should be given the shot to take most of the snaps, from what I’ve seen between him and Baxter.  He has some juice.  What bothers me about Baxter is he doesn’t break tackles.  It’s like flag football, you get a hand on him and he’s tackled.

He struggles to break tackles and takes way too many big hits. He needs to try and evade tackles vs taking them collisions on.

It's been a while since we've easily won in Ames. I don't expect this one to be much different.

Who knows, maybe this team finally brings out the can of whoop ass. They are capable just incredibly inconsistent from qtr to qtr.

Because you were the only one saying it based on who knows what. There certainly wasn't anyone else saying it. If some NFL team tells him they are gonna draft him high, I still don't think he returns. They are chasing high draft pick money. If he stays another year, he moves near the top of the board if not the top.

Now there's a so-called expert (who isn't me and I don't know them personally) basically saying the same thing I was a few days ago, and all based on the same observations I made. Like I've always said, I think the chance of him coming back is small, but still a chance.

Theirs is based predominantly on conversations not observations. That is the real difference. If you are trying to be some kind of insider......okay.

why did you feel the need to tamp down my assertion that recent events made it much more likely Quinn comes back?

    Quoted for posterity

Are they also the ones now indicating he may come back or is it 9.95'ers throwing shit on the wall to see what sticks?

Quote away, it doesn't change the facts of what I posted and your denial of those facts. There are still people saying he isn't coming back BTW, I myself am 50/50. I think if it is up to daddy Ewers, he is gone based on past actions pushed by him. Maybe QE is his own man and makes his own decisions now. I'm gruntled that he may come back, he will be a heisman favorite if he does especially if we grab some good receivers in the portal.

rhis is on your sark you fucking trash can coach. Csnt keep a lead for shit against anyone.  When blue and Baxter should have been mopping up in garbage time we had to lean on our bad mother fucker to squeak out a win

This is fucking stupid. Had he sat Brooks, you and everyone else would be bitching about Brooks not finishing them off. Shove a tampon in it.

its almost like we should change signs any time a player goes to an opposing team we play

anywho next year we get helmet mics and this non sense ends

Why would anyone need a mic in their helmet?

And also please tell me that Quinn is practicing with the baseball team to learn how to slide.

Less likely to be concussed diving. QBs often wait too long to slide therefore getting destroyed., (ask Dillon Gabriel, if he remembers) That rarely happens diving or just protecting yourself going down. Sliding just makes you a easier target IMHO.

The more I look into this game, the more I think we can win it with MM at qb, barring a complete meltdown by him on the road.

    I

No, if QE is healthy enough to play, and wants to play, he should play. We essentially are in the playoffs, can't take anything for granted including presuming we will win with MM throwing the ball to the other team.

Ewers would really have to ramp up his practice activity today for me to believe he’s playing based on what I just heard. Sounds like Murphy and Arch have still been taking the majority of the team reps Monday-Wednesday.
