  1. I had already heard about the commitment and read a couple of the articles, but just now took the time to watch his video. I generally skip these, but this one is worth it--you can tell the opportunity means a lot to him and his family. Hopefully this is a great sign considering how far out we are from the class of 2021.

btw smoothlonghorn is one cool dude. for real. met him a couple of times after that as well and he was always cool as hell. i remember one time he saw me and a couple of buddies out in the left field tailgate area after a supers win (we didn't see him) and he went out of his way to come over, say hi, and bless us all with some Lonestar tall boys. anyone who comports himself like that is pretty kickass in my book.

Considering how little I posted towards the end on Shaggy (and now here), it never occurred to check this thread. Appreciate Longboard Horn for asking and the kind words Goo! I registered early and still consider Surly the best source for unfiltered news/sports/life discussions, but figure most opinions are covered once I get around to reading a topic. However, if anyone was able to partake, I did show my appreciation by bringing BL a few jello shots for the tailgate last year.

P.S. Oh, and Goo, I moved to Pflugerville a few years ago and now laugh every time I pass by Baris at how much s**t people used to give you about that place. Hope all is well...

It’s the Chicago way I guess...

Its almost like they are so used to corruption and greasing the skids politically moving up through the ranks, they just can’t help themselves

Ironically, I grew up in the Chicago suburbs (and consider that "home"), but can't even muster any faux outrage to argue. After reading the full Bond Proffer, it's just enraging--if they have that evidence and cooperation from the Osundairo brothers, everyone at the Cook County State's Attorney office should be ashamed.

  4. Well, I made it..."so what?", you say? Well, you're not wrong. If the new owner needs someone to heartily support early get-togethers, (mostly) lurk for 10+ years, and then be extremely disappointed when the site comes crashing down, well, I'm your Huckleberry, Derka, Goo. Hmmm, all taken...

I would sign my post "....smooth", but if there is one thing I learned in the early days of the Shag, is a lot people sure hate that s**t.....
