I know the most famous thing about that festival/movie is Jimi setting his guitar on fire, but Otis Redding and Booker T and the MGs stole that show.

Probably right about Otis,  but Janis put on a pretty good act herself.

I think you are both saying the same thing.    I am in the same boat as Laga4 and get a lot of amazon stuff the same way.  It is size dependent whether it comes USPS or private carrier.

    Yes,  you are right.

However,  I will get deliveries from nearly all carriers.  Most now is from USPS.

I'm pretty confident you've got it backwards. It's handed off to USPS for final leg of delivery. The trucking is down by the large private carriers.

    I don't think so.

I live out in the country and the postal carrier delivers most of my Amazon packages,  but it gets sent to Dallas by UPS.

That's where Springsteen played when he was first starting out. This is the "Greetings from Liberty Hall" recording, which KPFT did and broadcast the show live.

A December 1978 show recorded at the Summit was "officially" released last fall to benefit Hurricane relief. You can hear him dedicate It's Hard to be a Saint in the City "for all the folks from the Liberty Hall days."

    Thanks for the links.

What a great place to see some really good music.

  5. We used to go to a place in Houston back in the mid 70's called Liberty Hall on Chenevert St.  It was a small venue spot,  I guess maybe 200 people. Maybe more or less I'm not sure. They had great groups come through.  I saw Jerry Jeff,  Little Feat,  all kind of blues,  John Lee Hooker,  Lightning Hopkins,  Clifton Chenier and many more.

But to answer the question about best concert I've ever been to,  there was a song played locally on Houston radio called "Somebody's Shaking My Tree".  We had never heard of the group but the song was good so we went to the concert at Liberty Hall.

    The group was ZZ Top.

None of of us could believe what we had just heard.

I know that's 2 best concerts I've been to,  but I've been going for a long time so I get more than one.

Anyone signing on to play for Texas needs to understand the decision has zero to do with anything as trivial as their own education or athletic development. It should be all about making the regulars on this board proud to be Longhorn fans. I don't know why that's so hard for some players to get their heads around.

    This guy gets it.
