  1. Exactly. FWIW coaching in High School and up can be a brutal undertaking. I apologize if you took what I said as a negative against Shaka or anyone else. My frustration lies with the administration as fair treatment of Shaka would have been to show him the door last year regardless of his DNA.
  2. My statement has nothing to do with Shaka and everything to do with the WHITE guys pulling the strings at UT. They have an agenda, it's easy to see, especially if the BMD's don't care and don't threaten to pull funding. This team is soft because priorities are not on winning. They assumed that the bball program had been built and established under Barnes. They assumed SS would continue the winning while adding harmony to the locker room by soft pedaling the motivational part of coaching. I'm sure the classroom and community aspects of UT basketball are great but the seats are empty and that's a problem. https://texassports.com/news/2016/8/25/university-of-texas-board-of-regents-approve-contract-extension-for-mens-basketball-coach-shaka-smart.aspx
  3. Advancing a PC culture ahead of clear thinking is what UT does.
  4. I've been sober for 20 years, mainly due to my wild ass youth. However when shaka gets canned, I'm getting shit faced and letting loose of 20 years of no buzzes.
  5. Baseball is going to be awful. I can't take the incompetence. That fat ass Perrin was as bad as Patterson.
  6. Ha ha ha. To get 100 people in that new arena, they are going to have to give free tickets away at the local nursing homes.
  7. The 2 responsible really don't care. Perrin and Fenves just love that Shaka is a great mentor to the kids. He doesn't upset them and makes losing fun.
  8. Yes, and not just basketball. Who hired Patterson? This person should be gone as well.
  9. Switching to Mavs. This is depressing. I hope CDC is feeling some heat.
  10. It's not about the conference, it's about the money. The other conferences have more of it and are buying Texas players. Winning might move a few players but the majority of the REALLY good ones are going out of state. If watching Bama, LSU, and tOSU doesn't make you sick, then you don't have a pulse. Which conferences are they in and how much do they earn? They are paying and we aren't, at least enough.
  11. I agree. The beauty of the position of B12 schools is that each will land in a Power 4 conference except one school. Prolly, Baylor or TCU. They are not state schools.
  12. Let's just say that if The University of Texas were Communist China, the police would be knocking on my door.
  13. And then we become irrelevant. We can all get together and watch re-runs on LHN of the glory days.
  14. Not mine. If the SEC and B1G are poaching 40%+ of the top Texas talent, I'm out because that is where we are headed. Texas football will have failed. You better hope that Texas steps up its bagman game.
  15. Money will dictate the future. The B12 trajectory is downward. If someone ponies up B1G or SEC type money, I'll stand corrected but I doubt it happens. The SEC will buy the Texas talent as well as tOSU and Pedo. It's already happening.
  16. Yep, it's called the politically correct campus culture. Currently the football program is the host being cannibalized for the academic largess... At some point the host will die and so will the academic largess that lives off the AD. At the current trajectory, I give UT football 10 years til it's at Tennessee status.
  17. The PAC isn't being torn apart either. It's geography protects it's original schools. The Big 12 is a shell of it's former state. It's not getting better and the next TV deal will illustrate my point. We have reached the peak and the future will be not be bright. The OU performance in the playoff is indicative of what is to come. One day the Big 12 will be celebrate when it's champion is under consideration for the playoff, not winning it. That is where the PAC is now.
  18. When was the last time the PAC made the playoff? Why has the PAC withdrawn from discussing a TV deal with Disney, Fox, and ABC? They are expecting Apple to bail them out. If not, they are going to be irrelevant more than they are now. If that's what Texas wants, well go for it. I'll stop watching. I stopped watching Jerry ball in 1995. The Cowboys are screwed.
  19. Wouldn't that be hilarious. At least they wouldn't accept Shaka Smart past 2 seasons as the bottom line would dictate kicking his ass to the curb.
  20. Maybe so but if we want to continue the current revenue position, changes are going to have to be made. Currently the Texas High School talent is beginning to make it for us.
  21. Oh I agree but a move to a more competitive landscape will magnify crappy coaching, so possibly better decisions can be expected. Maybe we move away from factions of BMD's fighting over coaching hires. We have had crappy coaching for a decade. Comically, Disney may step in and mandate some changes to our dysfunctional admin and actually bring some competence to our athletic department. They have a huge investment in our football program, lol.
  22. And paying players for using their likeness may be our ticket. We have more money than anyone in the SEC. Will our administration do it? Our current path is not one of success. We are losing the top Texas talent to the teams that pay.
