I've barely been able to watch any of this series so far attending both stars games. But people on my text chain that never  bitch about officiating have been cussing the calls SGA has gotten.  Hopefully he doesn't get the benefit on the road tomorrow.  Look forward to finally watching.  Still so pissed the NHL scheduled Stars in direct conflict with Mavs.  At least staggered for games 6 and 7 if both series go long.

Last night didn't seem too bad. The first half of game one was pretty silly. He had 11 free throws in the half I think.

I think what REALLY irks Mavs fans is that Dort is playing like a middle linebacker on Luka on every possession. If things were called the same Dort would foul out midway through the second quarter.

Some speculation over there that Toia changed his mind, which would be hilarious.

Bobby and Gerry were doing some loaded "Texas recruiting through the whistle" talk this morning which made me think there is some portal target they never gave up on.

Nah. People have pretty consistently complained about his recruiting, as evidenced by the fact that we've taken 2 portal DTs and DT is still considered a need position. No one's saying we're happy he left, but his recruiting was a weak point at Texas with top-level NIL. Now if he's at LSU with no NIL and a HC who's one of the worst recruiting HCs in the country, it could be a real problem for LSU moving forward.

My 10,000 foot assessment is that Bo is a very good coach, but is not very friendly and probably grumpy because he wears sweatshirts in Texas in August. Kids are fragile because of the way parenting has changed since the early 80s.

Sarkisian is not an elite head coach yet to me. He's young enough that he can get there and he's trending well but he isn't there yet. But dammit after living through the last decade-and-a-half just simply not fucking up what has been handed on a plate seems like a damn miracle well worth what we're paying him now.

With the money we’re paying him, he shouldn’t schedule the spring game during a thunderstorm. Red flag.

I'm sure we can, but anyone playing down his role is naive. That dude made a huge impact on our recruiting and identifying players.I have faith Sark with make the right hire. I'm just kinda pissed he left for Ole Miss of all places, unless he plans on hanging out at The Grove with Kiffen to be his wingman

I'm not downplaying his role. Just that, if he's willing to move, then like candidates might be willing to move here. There is probably more quality in the NFL and College football personnel departments than any time in history.

Losing Glassxock is a big deal. The guy was involved in identifying recruits. He was a huge asset, and it sucks that he left for Kiffen. I hope he got a huge raise or this is a massive kick to the nuts. He's identified several it out recruits like Jelani Mcdonald, and a lot of our late signers. This sucks.. I hope the next guy is as great as Glassxock was.

I’m sure we can find a suitable replacement.

We don't know that...we hope that, but we don't know it.

Another possibility is that he needs a DL coach before spring ball and this is the best he could find on short notice and he, like the rest of us, hopes he works out.  But if not, he'll try again next year.

Sometimes I feel like the board lacks general wisdom.

This is definitely an unconventional hire. It was reported Sark was looking for someone proven to develop players who can recruit and this guy is mostly potential. I think it’s fair to wonder if this guy will work out.

Yeah, my biggest concern would be development but that's just because his resume doesn't have power 5 experience. I have no idea what makes a good DL coach. Bo seemed more hard-nosed and old school which works for him. I couldn't tell you what 95% of college and pro DL coaches are like. I hope he can motivate as I think that's been one of the biggest issues with Texas athletes during shit years. Keep your eyes on the prize and earn the NFL paycheck.
