Not sure how much he actually “coached”, but as a TE coach, he turned a scrub TE who couldn’t even play for Kansas into a pretty good player.
-
Hager needs to plant that bionic elbow brace right under the facemask of Kyler on the first drive. That should do it.
-
Didn’t one of the OU WRs decommit? Would he be an option to replace Houston?
-
Not sure how much money we have left, but I’d still like to add a good veteran SP.
Although I don’t love him, someone like Kuechel would be great to plug in and let the young guys learn from.

yes that's true.
he hadn't thrown a baseball in 15 years but he'd been playing softball. doesn't matter if you're throwing a softball or a baseball, as long as you're doing it somewhat consistently it should be fine. of course if it's one 3-month season every year over the course of 15 years that wouldn't cut it.
Yeah, I hadn’t even thrown a softball for about 2-3 years before I threw for the gun, but did start back up playing co-ed right after that
I still had a good arm (as good or better than anyone out there) before the 2-3 year break, but now, even after playing at least once a week for about the last 18 months, it’s nowhere near what it was before the layoff. The layoff started around age 35 and I started back up around age 38. Lost a lot during that time.
I also lost a lot of power at the plate during that time. Was one of the home run hitters before the layoff and now just started hitting them again this past season.
Getting old is a bitch....of course beer league co-ed softball is the only physical exercise I partake in these days, so not exactly trying very hard to get back to my athletic prime.

you sure she was doing it right? you're right around 40, that's a huge dropoff.
Im thinking it’s probably not the most accurate radar gun.

I was hitting 50 yards with a football as a 120 lb freshman in HS, but never could throw much further than that even as my arm got a lot stronger.
Played in a flag football league about 10-12 years ago and would spell our QB from time to time. I had a way stronger arm than him (I could throw it on a rope from 20-25 yards), but he could throw it about 10 yards further than me on the long balls. Couldn’t figure that one out.
-
Played small college baseball (shortstop) and hardest I ever threw was 85-86 pitching in a summer league game. 18 years and 50 lbs later, my wife buys a radar gun (not sure why) and I bust out a baseball to see what I could do. I’ve played a little softball over the years, but hadn’t picked up a baseball in at least 15 years.
I topped out at 68 mph with most around 63-65. Couldn’t believe it. I was thinking I’d hit 75-77 at a minimum. This was about 2 years ago and I’ve been playing softball more regularly, so would be interesting to try again.

Didn’t cross check the shart thread....I guess the OP made it through OK.

Just saw the other thread. Tried the search feature, didn’t come up. Delete thread, ban user.

I haven’t been “collecting” in probably 20 years and don’t pay any attention to it now, but anyone got any old card “finds” or favorites?
My dad will be passing down a Mickey Mantle collection with at least one card from 1957-1969.
My prized card collection is probably my 1987 Topps complete set. That thing’s value has to be in the thousands now!!

I stay at Motel 6....don’t think they even have maids.

Need to find a couple local midgets, grease them up and have Hager and Omenihu chase them around all practice.

Let me guess. Aggy had the same conference record as OU, but worse overall record and lost to OU head to head.
Yep, that sounds legit.
Was it even that legit????

This is exactly what I expected. 11am game, on the road, cold, against shitty KU, day after Thanksgiving. I 100% expected us to be flat...although first drive actually looked good.
-
Locke sucks. Luckily only 2 more games with him.
-
Ingram needs to hit the hole. Worry about the jukes when you get into the secondary. Chris Warren didn’t touch the ball last year for running like that.

What’s the deal with Andrew Jones? Saw that he played in one of the early games, but haven’t seen him since. Are they limiting his minutes or is he just not fully back yet?
-
Played D-III baseball for 2 years. Hit .400 as a sophomore, transferred to a bigger school and never played again. Bad hamstrings limited me and do to this day...even in beer league softball.
-
I guess we need more quality losses! How far does aggy jump up after their quality loss to LSU??
-
We will be “back” when we can get about 5-6 years straight with our “bad” years being top 10 classes and our good years are top 3 classes. We are well on our way.
-
They were given a B12 “gimme” a couple years ago with KState and we all know how that turned out.
