  1. +1 Top Notch

Burger Tex is depressing. Great burger.

Jewboy is good but was expecting more given the hype.

Hopdoddy is great but so expensive.

  2. I have too many windows in my house and need some type of window covering. Think old style Austin bungalow.

What should I put? Just regular wood (white) blinds? Where do you buy as I don't want cheap ones but don't see the need to drop a fortune?

Pretty interesting article. Austin was poised to become the next Silicon Valley ... and then the Covid hit.

RigUp's challenges are the result of Oil & Gas prices being depressed. I hear lots of VCs and founders moving their companies here from SF...I think Covid drives more start-ups to relocate not less.

  4. I have friends that are pooling resources to have a teacher come tutor their kids together (max of 5 kids). If I was in this situation with kids, I’d just supplement with joint tutoring and then plan to make up during summers for the next two years.

Blah blah kids lose their summers but F having my theoretical kid fall behind up to 2 yrs because of this shit.

The big picture: Porsa said the region is seeing numbers related to the spread of the virus that are "disproportionately higher than anything we have experienced in the past." He noted that Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital's ICU is at 113% capacity, and 75% of its beds are coronavirus patients.

Why it matters: New York hospitals never became so overwhelmed that patients were abandoned in hallways, but the situation became dire after lockdowns were in place, and became a matter of riding out the storm, writes Axios' Caitlin Owens.

I live in central Austin (Allandale).  Workers just put signs  all the way down my street and in front of my house: "No Parking - Tow Away Zone.   For questions, please call Google Fiber at XXXXX".

All the natural gas lines have also been marked.

I assume  Google Fiber is being installed in my neighborhood.    AT&T Fiber is already installed and Spectrum has high speed coax.   I've been switching between AT&T Fiber and Spectrum every year or two to get their latest promotional rates.  Hopefully I can add Google Fiber to the rotation.

Was installed in my house (Hyde park) a month or so ago. More plans to expand across Austin.

It fucking rocks. So funny bc at&t is going door to door asking people to switch back offering big discounts
