  1. Gerry mentioned recently Calicut is being recruited more as a LB than a S. He's big (6'3" on recruiting sites) and growing, and Gerry thinks he could play at or above 230 lbs.
  2. He'll be 100% football in college, per Gerry. But he's relatively raw and plays at a lower level of competition. He'd be a developmental take. He's also kin to (2026 RB) KJ Edwards somehow. His parents are from Carthage or something.
  3. I’m just interested in Owens’s progression. He made some nice throws in last season’s spring game, and he’s in an interesting position in that he could transfer either because he’s too good to wait behind Arch for two more years or because he’s too bad to stay ahead of Lacey.
  4. Shit, my bad. Thought he was part of the same class as Manning.
  5. I understand not wanting Lacey to have to play during his first year, but this is Owens's third year. Is Caldwell going to be third on the depth chart, or is Owens just not that good/not progressing as expected? Imo he would actually have to suck for Caldwell to be the obvious second-string guy.
  6. Sorry, not exactly related, but have any current or recent members of the UT roster attempted to start a podcast, like seemingly half of current NBA players have?
  7. For anyone curious to see for himself, Kent is discussed in the May 8 version of Coffee & Football, around the 15:00 mark. Gerry says he's 6'5", 287 lbs. now, but the HS staff thinks he'll actually play lighter, around 270-275, in college. And he doesn't mind being an in-line TE.
  8. So unless USC or someone else comes on late, are we almost certainly going to get Prothro or Bowman? They have the same top 2 (UGA) and I don’t think they’d want to be in the same class. And what’s up with Heze Kent—does he not want to play OL? Says he’s a TE on his X profile but seems like he’s going to be too big (weighs 260-300 depending on the source) to stick there long-term.
  9. Painfully unfunny
  10. It’s been mentioned by Jordan Reid at ESPN and Daniel Jeremiah at NFL Network that Scourton played the past season at 280 but trimmed down to 257 for the combine and predraft workouts. And not only so he could boost his times; he’ll play in the NFL closer to the latter number.
  11. Were we in on this kid at all? Southlake HS, committed to Ohio State yesterday. Fwiw, 247 has him as an inch taller and 28 lbs. heavier. https://www.on3.com/db/brock-boyd-151041/
  12. Didn’t we lose him to LSU at first because we wanted him at S, not CB?
