I just picked up my 6 OU and 4 Michigan tickets. Sitting with Arkansas boosters at Fayetteville and do not plan to attend away ATM games ever again.

If I sent you the money, would you request A&M seats for me?

You mean to tell me that brands are a powerful intangible when it comes to consumer spending? Weird.

Kansas has been an embarrassing shitpile of a program for decades. Mangino gave them a reprieve and Leipold has barely started doing the same. Kentucky has been a far better program for the last decade. KU is not a better team on the field than UK by any measurable amount at the moment, and the UK brand simply outweighs that of Kansas. Sure, it's all subjective, but it is not "aggie af" as someone else implied to prefer playing Kentucky. They're new, they've been decent for awhile, they have a solid college brand, and, God forbid, losing to them at some point is less likely to be a national story due to the fact that haven't been the worst team in P5/P4 damned near perennially for most of the last 30 years.

Arguing that Okie State is a better game than UF is tautology. Sure, Gundy's put out a more consistent product, but when UF is good, they're covered nationally. Further, Texas fans have ever fucking reason there could be for happily putting OSU in the rearview mirror. And we get to trade that program for Florida, who is also down right now? It's fucking absurd to make the argument that we all shouldn't be more excited about that matchup. Stating otherwise is a laughable take.

You have a habit of attempting to remove the notion of emotion from what drives behavior among players, coaches, admins, and fans when discussing CFB. That serves no purpose. The outcomes are not derived inside of some clean dataroom.

How much are they on sale for at decent seating levels?

They’re as cheap as $240 a seat if you want to be row 20 and higher on the visiting 25 yardline

The away game secondary market for us is gonna be crazy.  we have 5 away/neutral games and all of them have a priority limit.  Even Vandy.

We are going to drive up other SEC teams season ticket sales just on our own.

I looked into Vandy season tickets. They also play Bama at home this year. It makes sense to me to buy for the Texas game and sell for the rest. Bama fans usually turn up for the game in Nasheville.

Idk where this goes, but my buddies wife was telling last summer me about how their is getting academic scholarships offers from the likes of Yale, Harvard, Brown ect and how it might even be cheaper for her to go to an ivy league vs in state….  I leave and haven’t seen them since last summer, then I see them post an acceptance sign to atm….   Grant it mom graduated from there but since then she has broke hs records for points and rebounds.  (3A but still). I haven’t called him yet but I’m thinking can yall really pass a full ride guarantee, athletic and academic to an Ivy League or Stanford or something over atm?  (She’s accepted to UT also).

Buddies wife is full of shit. Ivy’s don’t give academic or athletic scholarships…they do give very generous financial aid though based on financial need. If you are out of their income thresholds, you can end up paying $70k+ a year for your kid to go to an Ivy even if they’re playing athletics. My guess is the parents saw the sticker shock on the Ivy’s and sent their kid elsewhere or her grades were not great and daughter got turned down. One of my buddies was recruited to play O-Line at MIT (a little bit different) and was told he needed to score a 34 ACT or above and he would get in. He scored a 34 but the school still turned him down anyway.

DCBC, Jr. the Firstith was auto-admitted to Liberal Arts and got his History major in December.  Yesterday, he was declined the Plan 2 admission.  But today, he was admitted to Liberal Arts Honors.  He officially is Austin bound.  Proud of this Kiddo!  I never would have gotten into UT these days.

If your kid does LAH, I recommend looking at the Honors Dorms if he’s considering living on campus. They were some of the cheapest on campus back in 2017. I lived in Blanton. I had a blast living there. My roommate was Liberal Arts Honors and I was engineering honors.

SWA has direct flights from Midland to Vegas. I’d be on that plane every Friday.

In all seriousness, if you own a home in Austin/Houston/Dallas, I’d just fly back every weekend.

I already booked flights for every big home game this Fall plus a couple trips to Austin in the spring and summer. I’ll probably fly back to Houston once a month or every other month.

Damn, I know this is Surly — but how is anyone mad/upset?

I went to school in the Charlie years... The Longhorns fought and came within 1 second and 12 yards of playing for the Title. 1 less fuck up/fumble/lucky bounce, and we may have won… They won 12 games and a Big 12 championship on their way out. They are all Longhorn Legends in my book (especially J Whitt), and have made me proud to call myself a Texas alum. Hook ‘em!

I went to school during the Herman years and watched the Strong years while in HS. This is the best season I’ve ever seen as a Texas Fan. I’m just disappointed because this is the closest we’ve ever been since I’ve been a fan

My daughter is a teacher and said that kids cannot watch movies anymore. It won’t hold their attention span. They can’t stick to anything for two hours.

I don't think it's just kids either. I'm 25 and when I was in hs and college I used to be able to watch movies and tv shows for hours. I tried to watch multiple movies and tv shows over the holidays. I could not find a single one that held my attention span for more than 20 minutes. What's wild these days is the only things that hold my attention is my job, Texas Football, and playing competitive sports like tennis.

If anyone needs 1 I have a UW guy that is selling his 3 extra and I only want 2 of them. Right in the middle of their section (328C) but...

How much are you paying him? PM me

In the Texas allotted section. I thought cheapest overall was 450 but obviously don't know for sure.

CFP RSVP website said upper level face was $450

Just scored tickets for $251.00 plus fees which brought the total to $345.00 on the Washington side. I think they might come down but I thought I pull the trigger since they were on row 6 in the upper level.

    Where’d you buy through? Stubhub?

Was that the Sugar Bowl or National championship?

I’ll re-read but it wasn’t clear. Beau said it $200 for the cheapest Sugar Bowl.

National Championship cheapest face was $450.

I’m browsing Sugar Bowl Tickets on the Ticketmaster app on an iPhone and I can select up to 14 tickets.

I don’t have any tickets from LHF, I am just browsing the Ticketmaster app as a regular public buyer.

It must be a browser issue. Thanks!

Sugar Bowl ticket prices are dropping even more. Right now on Ticketmaster the end zone nosebleeds are as low as $387 each WITH FEES INCLUDED

What’s weird is it won’t me look for more than 2 seats. Is anyone having the same issue? I’m curious if no one on Ticketmaster has more than 2

Keeping my eye on the market too and it's brutal out there.  It's like they know I'm going to pay whatever price they want because I'm an addict and really want my college aged kids to finally experience what it's like when Texas football is good.

This might not be the place for it, and if it isn't I assume the OP has the power to nuke it, but any suggestions on a hotel within reasonable distance of stadium and bourbon street where a drunk middle aged guy with 2 kids is unlikely to get stabbed?

If everything is too pricey around the stadium, I’d consider booking something in a different part of town and ubering. NOLA isn’t that big and Ubers aren’t super pricey.
