  1. Yes it’s a media circus and the players can act like immature jackasses…but how many off the field player issues have there been in two years?  I can’t think of one. Even if there is, we’re not at some Georgia level. Deion seems to run a pretty tight ship.

And no question the team has drastically improved since September. CU would skullfuck Nebraska now.
I'm sure Deion is keeping the lid on tight, just like Art Briles did.

  2. Goodwill donation is now been sitting in the back of her car for 8 months.
If I ever need to use my wife's car and need the trunk, I always have to get her to empty all of that shit out. "I keep meaning to stop at Goodwill and drop this off." There are always bags in there that never seem to disappear.

  3. Not gonna go back and quote but:

1: "Of course I know what I'm doing!" (Looks it up on YouTube to see what to do.)

2: Who the fuck doesn't have a gas monitor? And if you had a failed FV sensor, order 2 so you have an extra for next time (15 years from now).

3: Ate lunch at my kids' school yesterday with my mom (early T-Day lunch) and if you didn't want turkey you could get a PB&J. I asked my kids if the sandwich was any good and they both said "No." I asked why and my son told me it's not really peanut butter. It's Sun Butter. Yes, I know some kids have deadly peanut allergies, but Sun Butter? Better to just make a jelly sandwich.

  4. And?  It's a fucking mile.  My parents had no clue where I was 90% of the time I was on the other side of the front door, and much of that time, I was well over a mile away.
My point was that the cups were even more off-base than you thought. It would be one thing if mom said, "Sure. Walk to town. Idgaf." But that didn't happen. Mom left her "responsible" kid at home. Kid left without mom's knowledge or permission and mom got arrested for it.

  5. Impressive rap sheet - 40 charges and counting. Not shocking the guy's out and about and an innocent woman paid the price with her life.

AUSTIN, Texas - The man at the center of a North Austin homicide investigation this week has an extensive criminal history, court records revealed.

Noah Mata, 36, has a criminal history dating back to at least 2006. Mata has been charged with about 40 crimes in Travis County including driving while intoxicated, assault, possession, fleeing from police, driving with a suspended license, burglary, and theft.

Police said Mata was inside his apartment with three other people. He claims he didn’t know their names. Mata said one of them had a gun, and he planned on taking it from him. Mata said he took pictures of it and then put it in his pocket. He said the man tried to get it back and they wrestled. Eventually, the other man was able to get it. He fired a shot at Mata and that bullet went through the wall and hit a woman, killing her.

Mata was charged with aggravated robbery. Court documents revealed Mata had an active warrant at the time for driving with an invalid license.

While I'm sure this Mata guy should've been locked up long ago, he didn't shoot the woman. He might have started the events, but the guy who fought him to get the gun back decided to shoot at an apparently now-unarmed guy inside an apt, miss, and that miss went through a wall and killed a woman.

Now, you can argue that it never would've happened if Mata was in jail and not there, or even that he started it (even if he had never been arrested before) and therefore had some culpability for the results, but we don't give cops a pass if they shoot at a bad guy and miss when there is a large group of little kids behind him.

Mata definitely should be in jail, but the woman's death should be on the shooter.

To me, this is a true Holy Shit story.   I really though there would be another part to this story that wasn't initially reported.  Some kind of child abuse, drugs, starving kids, something.  Nope. This actually seems to be just some I-know-better-than-you deputy arresting a mon for letting her 10 year old kid walk a mile from home on a road with a speed limit of 35?   Holy Shit.    By those standards every parent of a gen-Xer would have been shot.
    Times have changed.
By comparison, I was 12 when I rode my bike over this bridge the first time. Speed Limit 55.  135 feet above the water.  Bicycles and pedestrians welcome.

She didn't "let the kid walk". She left the kid at home and expected him to stay there. He decided to leave and walk a mile to town. Mom knew nothing about it until the cops called her and asked if she knew her kid had walked to town by himself.

  7. Shower door contractor is coming over today to measure and provide quote. I want regular glass panels and hinged doors. The wife wants the kids' shower to have sliding panels, because apparently she thinks the kids don't know how to squeegee the glass on a regular shower door without the door opening and dripping water onto the floor (oh the humanity!).
My wife fucking stubborn. Gets it from her grandmothers...

Me: If you're thinking of getting the sliding door, you should find a picture of it and show the guy.
Her: Why? I can just describe it.
Me: It'll save you a LOT of time and words if you just show him a picture.
Her: But what if he has another type of door? I don't want him to limit it to just what I show him.
Me: Yes, and he can give you a 3rd option. But trust me, find a photo, show it to him, and he'll better understand what you're looking for.
Her: No, I'll just describe it.

This goes on for 2 minutes...

Me (getting mad): We've been together for 18 years, and I don't understand you at times. You'll start mid thought, won't provide any context, I have to ask a lot of questions to understand what you're trying to say. Save the guy the frustration I feel everyday, just find a freakin' photo so you can show him, and it won't be as confusing for you, or for him, and you'll get what you want!!!
Her: I hear you. But why do you have to get mad?

I looked up some photos, took screen shots and texted them to her, because knowing her, she'll be too stubborn to do it herself and waste everyone's time. Fucking infuriating.

The kids aren't going to squeegee the damn door no matter what kind you get.

Edit: sawbonz beat me to it.
