    Big weekend according to reports

Had dinner at Oscar's Saturday night then walked down Fremont St. after. I've never seen it as busy as it was that night, could barely navigate the crowd and no way to find a table.  Lot's of $1,400 checks spent this weekend.  Hoops on The Strip was a great set up this year, very fun.  I've also never seen Vegas that trashy, cheap rooms and cheap flights I guess.  Hope that clears up before my next trip.

Think you said you are staying at Caesars. Would be a great time to enlist a host if you can wrangle one on your behalf to book seats for you at the sportsbook. All the major casino sportsbooks I believe have shifted now to reserving/blocking off/charging money for seats now for big events. And this includes things like a regular Saturday of college football. So that would be my first recommendation. Failing that, see what it would cost to book seats.

Lagasse Stadium closed last year, so that’s out. From what I’ve seen, the best new or redone places look to be Circa and Westgate. I would call ASAP and see how it all works for the tournament this year. Previously many of the big places would host big parties in ballrooms. Pick your favorite place and check on that too. Try Cosmo.

Last suggestion would be to “slum it” at a smaller locals casino just off the Strip. You might be surprised how much fun that can be. Places like Ellis Island casino or Tuscany Suites.

Protip: download the online betting apps (like BetMGM) and sign up for them early. The betting lines get nuts in person.

My buddy has a host at Caesars and gets comp'd Hoops On The Strip passes.  We've always been in the ballroom over at Flamingo, looking forward to how it sets up this year.

With the tables mostly only seating 3, I was hoping it was still pretty slow. I guess it'll be harder to get on. Oh well, still going so might as well make the most of it. We have another trip planned in 3 weeks too.

50% capacity come 3/15, should have room for more than 3 at the tables.

For everyone getting the shot, are you in the defined groups, volunteering and getting leftovers, or something else? I tried to sign up online, but I would have had to flat out lie to get a slot. Kinda hard to do that when there are genuinely at risk people trying to get vaccinated. How easy is it to volunteer and get a shot that way?

Wife is with the state health department so I was on the "extra arms" list.  At the end of appointments if there is product remaining instead of wasting they call extra arms to come to the county health department to use up.
