  1. Self-righteous pot smokers who won't shut up, especially when they're high.

14 handicappers who manage to throw out an 83 - 82 in the NET club championship and then hang around the men's grill bragging on it.  "Hey man, it some times happens.  I was making everything."

Night Rider's Lament, such a great song!  Gets me dusty everytime. As i remember it:

"....he tells me last night I run on to Jenny....he tells me you sure missed the track when you never come back...shes the perfect professional's wife.. she asks me why just he ride for his money, why does he rope for short pay..he must have gone crazy out there.."

Was listening to JJW last night while grilling and drinking wine, Night Rider's Lament played and it put me right where I needed to be. Great song, sung by the only guy I want to hear sing it.

It’s not the helmet, it’s the guy’s box turtle sized melon that’s in it. Why the dude’s wearing a helmet to a press conference I don’t know.

The helmet is ridiculous but that guy is a legit hero, first Fire Chief to the WTC on 9/11.  His brother went up the towers and never came back.

Google built a data center at the industrial park in Pryor in 2007 and has had nonstop construction for the last 15 years, it has changed that town.  The industrial park employed 5000 but Google attracted a little bit different work force.  Store fronts are full, old houses get bought and fixed up, new high school built, Amish are selling more cookies than they can bake.  We might even get a Whataburger.  Hwy 69/412 corridor is a good place for business.

Maybe. But the US isn't the same place it was in 1941, and China of 2023 is not Japan of the 1940s.

China has their own set of issues. Primarily, they're an autocratic society with all the advantages and disadvantages of being one. But to make the equivalency between them and Japan from World War II is specious.

    Indubitably

We’ll see how far it goes. Both sides have a lot of weapons at their disposal.

I’m all in favor for as much of a decoupling from China as we can manage, but I have no confidence the American people are ready for the pain that will involve. People have been sounding the alarm on this stuff for over 20 years, to no real avail.

But make no mistake. China sees it as their destiny to replace the US at the top of the world’s pyramid. They see us as lazy, decadent, soft, and tired of the responsibility of being a world superpower. They’re ready to step in and remake the economic order to their advantage. They’ve done a great job of establishing an industrial base to do just that, but the problem with using weapons is that once you do, the other side starts coming up with counters. My hope is that Chiba overextended their hand and helps the west overcome their addiction to Chinese market incentives.

Here’s a decent WaPo article on how we got here. Not exhaustive by any means. Many books have been written on the subject. But a decent quick overview.

That sounds like the last Asian power who tried to fuck with us.
