  1. If seeds hold, I’m sure glad Wisconsin would have to play Louisville first. FWIW, he’s worn them most of the season.
  2. There’s gotta be aggy in her blood.
  3. I didn’t want to play Nebraska until Knuckles went out for the season. Seeing their below-average serve/receive and passing vs Wisc and Minn changed my mind. (I bet Cook really misses Akana now!) Nevertheless, I don’t think Nebraska will make it to Omaha. I hoping for a dump of ticket sales for the Final Four.
  4. Agree with all of that. With Nebraska losing twice this weekend, they can see the arguments to send them either here or to send them to Louisville. Watching some VB this past week, I would NOT want to run into UCF as #16. They seem very dangerous with Melville.
  5. Agree. Halter got the start over her today. Wonder if that messed with her head.
  6. Easy peasy [emoji869] (not really but damn, a sweep…)
  7. Forgot to add… as the title of this year’s topic says, we are completely stacked! I do not envy JE having to decide on starters, when to substitute and with whom.
  8. Yes, I went. This is a pretty accurate summary, with some comments below. Also see @nellynel’s player-by-player summary on VT. Setter: Ewert did very well. With so many changes to each side after each set, I couldn’t tell if she benefited from better passing vs SKT. But yes, it’s possible Ewert gets the starting nod. Passing/Serve-Receive: looked much better than last year. Every L/DS played both positions and all had decent playing time (except for maybe Heinrich?) Fleck looked great. Halter had some fantastic digs. Overall passing and SR seemed to degrade with each set though. (could be all of the lineup and side changes with each set) Parra did VERY well at OH. Kahahawai is the real deal. O’Neal/Bergmark as MBs to start the year is almost certain, but I don’t think it will take long for Caffey to jump in. She had a couple of great plays without getting a lot of sets. I wouldn’t be surprised if Singletary RS’d. Despite the explicit PA announcements not to video the scrimmage, someone on VT did. They were going to upload it somewhere.
  9. Coming out of hibernation since December… what did I miss? [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] Just kidding. I would occasionally remember to lurk through the 20,836 pages of “Texas 2022” on VT. Looking forward to Sunday!
  10. I’m pretty sure that GIF of her conversation with Elliott during the regional final (Nebraska) was on her radar. There are a couple of Texas supporters on VT that can be pretty harsh. But yes, Texas gets a lot of hate on there and Jhenna was a target for a lot of it. I’m really sad she’s leaving. She was a positive intangible that will be hard to replace. She deserves a ton of respect, and I wish her nothing but the best.
  11. Unfortunately true. Omaha next, then Tampa, Louisville, Kansas City. Wish San Antonio could host again, but I don’t think that will happen.
  12. Two years. (Covid year) One rumor is that Madi Skinner will join her at USC. Also, being in LA is a draw for some. Asjia said she was jealous of her being in LA. (The team was very supportive of her on IG.)
  13. Amy Neal was 5’9”. She wasn’t Destinee Hooker, but she did pretty well.
  14. https://lsusports.net/news/2021/12/22/tonya-johnson-comes-home-to-lead-lsu-volleyball-program/ BATON ROUGE, La. – Tonya Johnson, who helped LSU to a pair of Southeastern Conference titles and the 1990 Final Four as a player, is returning to her alma mater as head coach of the Tiger volleyball team, director of athletics Scott Woodward announced on Wednesday.
  15. I like Iosia. I really hope she sticks around as DS. Losing the job to a libero from a National Championship final team (MOB), or to a Pac-12 libero of the year (Fleck) are not things to be ashamed about. Just think she needs more coaching and/or experience against teams with tough hitting. Also, Petersen actually did better as a DS than libero.
  16. I wasn’t overly impressed with Cabello, but the sample size was small and could be wrong.
  17. Hard to believe this is Wisky’s first. Feels like they should have won in the past. Congrats to them.
  18. Kudos on the simple explanation for “six-rotation”!
  19. I hope the “rent-an-OH” strategy pans out for 2022. (Not saying it won’t.)
  20. Corn, no. They are loaded at the pins. Plus their active fan base are not fans of her. (The latter is more observation.) For her to develop as a 6-rotation player as is reported, she would need a B1G school (not Corn), maybe Pac-12.
  21. Yes it was (at least that was assumed publicly). But this transfer has the potential to be more damaging to the program and team chemistry. Hope I’m overthinking it.
  22. Jerritt appeared to make some strategy changes after the Lexi debacle. Maybe Skylar leaving (or the threat of it) will bring on more changes.
