He’s so beautiful to me. -
There’s a huge diversity in opinions of if Israel is right to do these things for sure. And that’s good. It’s how free society should work.
But can we all agree that motherfucker these guys are good at killing their enemies. Like how did the know where those guys were at that specific time.

Didn’t read entire thread , so apologies if discussed but has anyone ever used Costco travel? I’ve heard good things about it from ex coworkers . I’m not currently a Costco member but considering it for the travel benefits.

Woodlands getting crushed.
Nuts. So glad I took all my trees down last year. Tired of replacing roof every 3 years. Uggh-

I ski 5-7 days a year at Keystone and agree that food options are quite limited. I've eaten at that Mexican place Dos Locos and it was decent but nothing special. The stuff in the village is not great and I'm not even sure how much is open right now. Goat Tavern is a cool dive across the street that usually has a band.
There's place in Dillon called Vue that overlooks the lake and is on the rooftop of one of the hotels that's worth hitting up. Sauce on the Blue across I70 in Silverthorne is also a good option. Also there's a new-ish food hall there called Bluebird but I've never been.
I'd recommend eating least one night in Breck since you have much better options
Thanks. Been to breck probably 20 times so skipping it this time. Love it but too darn crowded. Sounds like Dillon will be best for this trip. Appreciate it. -
General population - 5% of that age. Most people over 50 aren’t in the gym.
Looks like it. It’s on the internet so it has to be true.-

The heat is a legitimate concern for many people, especially older folks. It's not trivial. Don't be such a dick.
No, the complaining about it won't change anything, but that doesnt mean it isn't a real concern.
Yep, and it gets worse as you get older like me. I don’t bitch about it but I simply don’t go to games until October anymore.-

Not in Keystone. There's not a whole lot there.
Dillon Dam Brewery in Dillon.
Sauce on the Blue in Silverthorne - They have an incredible bourbon selection if you're into bourbon.
Carboy Winery in Breckenridge
Thanks. I’m going for the solo low key unplug type thing so decided on keystone knowing there wasn’t much in the way of restaurants and bars. (Or as many people)! Do it once a year in a different place and it’s always awesome. -
Seems arbitrary. I can do all of those, but I’m not training for that anymore. Those number used to be bench your weight, squat 1.5, deadlift 2x. I used to have those, but god did it hurt. I finally realized I’m not trying to be a power lifter and looked for functional programming.
I did that for a while and now switched to trying to become an A group cyclist - which is a whole different lifting style.
In reality - your goals should determine what you’re doing in the gym.
Yeah I get that. Was just wondering how many guys my age could do that.
My goals are maintaining strength, keep Vo2 max as high as possible, and staying as flexible as possible.
My bar is certainly higher than standing on one leg for 40 seconds…good grief.-

Exactly. Since I switched to tempo work, gloves, straps, weight belt - have all gone away. My joints all feel better and I’m functionally moving better than I have in a very long time. I’m down from 239 (Jan of this year) to 208 (today). I’m 47 and will never try to squat 2x my body weight again. I have no need to.
Thoughts? I’m 59 and can hit all of these but at the low end. Just started lifting 2 years ago and I’m not trying to max on anything but rather retain muscle .
All about flexibility and some decent muscle mass at this point in the game for me. Wonder what percentage of men my age can hit these? 25%?-

Find anything good in bed stuy?
Was a little limited for restaurants but we did like this place.
This was an incredible experience for an old school jazz place. Cannot recommend experience enough if you into that type of thing.
Brownstone Jazz.

going to rent a place in upper west side after we leave houston. how much am I going to hate it?
Stayed in upper west side last week and loved it. 79th street and broadway.
Very quiet neighborhood with tons of small families and not near as much traffic(foot and car) as lower. 22 minutes on the redline to shows on broadway. Restaurants weren’t as plentiful as soho, Chelsea, and other west side haunts, but plenty and still only a short subway there. I’ll never stay in midtown again. -
Chita does ease the pain somewhat. Jesus, wake me up in November.

I just wrapped coaching a team of second graders. A few random tips:
1. Surprisingly common-sense, but buy a whistle. It gets their attention and you don’t have to raise your voice. It also gets them familiar with that as the stop-start of play.
2. Move everyone around. Kids are going to be asking to play the same positions and you’ll want to try to balance playing time.
3. Have at least five plays of you can install quickly. I’m presuming your league lets the coaches remain on the field, so you can have a binder with your plays and help line everyone up. They need to be super simple (like 3 runs and 2 passes) because the objective early in the season is just to execute. Fumbles and bad snaps are killers in a game with limited number of possessions.
4. Later in the season you can do some misdirection and it’ll blow the opposing kids minds. They just don’t have the years of watching football where they understand zones.
5. I’ve got two kids that just do not have the maturity to follow instructions and I try to hide them in spots where the responsibilities are simple (I.e., away from the ball like in WR or corner).
6. Probably of the 10 or so touchdowns that have been scored against us, 8 of them were because the corner let the runner get outside of them and the safety took a bad angle. I’ve worked with them on that all season and maybe you can do better knowing that going into it.
7. A huge problem the boys have is taking a handoff at full or 3/4 speed and we induce a lot of negative plays on defense as a result (this is probably the single biggest thing we do well on offense). In our league your defense can’t cross the line of scrimmage until the ball has moved out of the QB’s hands, and if the runner is taking it and then starting to accelerate he’s going to run into our guys.
On offense we spend 90% of our practice time working on stuff like that-my son says he hates it (he’d rather goof around and play tag) but it’s football, not recess. -
Same. My wife and I literally opted to buy a smaller, older, more expensive house so we can live inside the loop. I just can't imagine spending 45-60 minutes in a car, twice a day, just so we can have an extra 1500 square feet in our home and live next to a bunch of fucking aggies. So I can have an extra 1500 square feet that needs cleaning? Fuck. That. Shit.
Your words are hurtful. Spot on, but hurtful.

Agree with all of this. I do have a soft spot for Cafe Lux on 70th.
I think txduck87 will find that most/all on this forum have aged out of bed study so we probably won’t have the best recs. It’s also a huge neighborhood. I can recommend Winona’s at the very top of the neighborhood, and have plenty of recs in adjacent neighborhoods like Williamsburg and Fort Green, but honestly your son will know best.
Finally, I just note that UWS, while a nice neighborhood and a good tourist spot with museums and the park and so forth, is a longggggg way from bed stuy. I assume you know that and have planned accordingly.
Yeah, we usually stay more midtown but wanted to go for a little less “hectic” this trip. Kid just moved there so he’s learning some spots and yes, we’ve allotted much time to see his new digs and hang with the youngster.-

Headed there in mid May for 4 nights. Seeing Oh Mary and sunset blvd.
Staying in upper west side (79th street) and looking for some nice places to eat nearby (not Michelin or 5 star but just some quality older places that are nyc establishments).
Also need a rec for a great jazz club (traditional old school type place, not hip and trendy).
Finally , son lives in Bed Stuy neighborhood in Brooklyn so looking for a couple of recs for drinks and dinner nearby.
Thanks. -
I’d make them run after the game until everybody was puking.

Can't transitive property baseball, pitchers have days on days and off days - even the best get rocked occasionally. We just seem to get embarrassed by really good lefties too.

Pico Kohn (got us 6 times swinging)

Well, we need to get to the root of the problem. I’ll show myself out…..-
