Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

Hmmm. I wonder if PK could figure out how to not drop him into coverage so he can get more of those sacks? Imagine Simmons, Hill, Ty Smith, and Spence rushing the passer how may sacks we could get per game? We landed 5 against those lurping tweakers. -

I thought of Blake, which is exactly why I said alive. I almost forgot he passed. But here is the worst part, and this is laughable at how stupid Blake was- he was a witch recruiter (see Bob Stoops ONLY NC with someone else's players). If Blake were still rolling around his oxygen tank, he would be the undisputed worst coach in the Big XII, ever. Again, we're only using the criteria of blue blood/helmet school. He's just barely, and I mean like a game or 2 ahead of Strong in worst coach ever., but he gets no pass because he was a recruiting witch doctor. -

The most damning stat against this supposedly "elite" ou defense is that we only gave up 1 sack, while they gave up 5. They somehow have 22 sacks overall with R Mason Thomas with 4, while we have have 16, with Colin Simmons, even while dropping back, also has 4. Imagine if PK wouldn't drop him back, he could have double those (assuming, but let's be real, he would). Spence has 2, and if he doesn't get more snaps, that's negligence and I'm calling the cops. He's a force of nature with Ant Hill and Ty'Anthony Smith, but better at rushing the QB and QB pressures than Smith. But both are great at what they do. Spence graded out just a smidge higher at 72.5 (25 snaps) v Smith 70.2 (22 snaps). Just to put it here, Ant had a 64 pff grade on 64 snaps. We have a cobbled together oline where we had fucking Stroh starting for 4 and three quarters games, and then replaced by Brooks (true frosh who has never played G), Hutson (Is somehow starting, is a ragdoll, and is considered below average per grades. Just fucking put in Robertson or Cruz so we can all stop seeing Hutson's tampon string flying around when he tossed to the side like a dead hooker Ted Bundy finished off), Baker (RS-FR RT. Gets a pass), and Goosby, (a 1st-2nd rd pick first year "starter" full-time. He needs to come back to get more snaps and film), with a single player in Campbell being the only 4-year starter. OU is in a similar position, other than they have Fasusi (true frosh) starting, one returning starter in LG Heath Ozaeta, and 3 transfers. They're irrelevant and I don't care. Both Bendenbaugh and Flood are two sides of the same coin. -

Buddy, name a single time Strong ever even lucked into a 10-win season, or started 5-0. 6-7, 6-7, 5-7....in the Big XII. Sam Pittman, in a much more difficult conference, has one 9-win season, and two 7-win seasons. He's better than Strong. Even Billy Napier had one 8-win season at UF. Again, in a much more difficult conference. Charlie Strong is the worst coach to coach at even a helmet school, much less a blue blood in a conference that was just a notch ahead of the WAC. No one alive today, who has coached at a blue blood/new blue blood are worse than Charlie Strong. -

I question your intelligence all the time. Between you and I on this site, you may inhale your own farts, squat to pee, and wipe back to front, but pretending to be anything other than a dimwit is what is truly laughable. -

Yes. Big time. Here's what we have: Baxter - made of glass (not entirely his fault Wisner - small (can't take 15-20 carries a game all season, he's not built for that with his frame) Clark - frosh, learning the game, came back from Achilles tear, so far meh. Same class witg Gibson James Simon - will be good, he's still learning to not run into his own blockers, but he's speedy af. Stewart, Jr - no clue. Probably gone. -

Baxter, yes. Gibson, no. Gibson was behind Taylor Tatum (#1, considered missing and possibly dead), Nate Frazier (#2, should have been #1. Is a baller), #3 Gibson. Just to add insult to injury, Caden Durham was #6, Kedren Young #4 (TX kid at ND- zero fumbles), James Peoples #7 (TX kid at Ohio St - zero fumbles. Choice fucked up hard. -
Unless either killed 5 hookers, I doubt it. He probably just had a sit down with them and kept it real.

Even crazier? We're also tied for the most Doak winners.

Uh, yes on Hardy. That dude can ball. But is Sark/Scott even intelligent enough to have someone put out feelers? Just put Nick Townsend back there and let's fucking roll -

A Justice Haynes ain't walking through that door, my man. I will forever and ever hold a grudge about that. They didn't even give him a look, all while knowing we had two fucking RB's injured, one of whom is made of glass, another who had an Achilles tear who we didn't even know would be ready or not as a RS-FR, and he's been meh, another with all thumbs trying to carry a football, and the next two are true frosh. Choice, you fucking dumbass! Thanks for leaving the cupboards bare! -
I'm telling y'all, there was a student (I assume) wearing a Longhorns t-shirt at the UGA/AUB game. It was clear as day. I have no idea why he was wearing one, but I also don't care. It was dope af.
-
You're telling me a guy who is 19, came back from an Achilles tear, and is still learning to play at a high level isn't on the same trajectory as a 5* like Baxter when healthy, and more like Wisner learning as he goes? Except Wisner had no choice because, you know, Blue can't run inside and he fumbles, Gibson was a frosh who kept fumbling, our transfer RB lost his eye, Baxter was injured with multiple ligament tears, and Clark had the Achilles tear.

I mean, Landen Williams-Callis is really fucking good, but he's really short. They list him at 5'7.5 and 190 lbs. Yeah, OK on that weight. He might be Darren Sproles, but let's be real, he's not. I can't see Sark taking a kid who is 5'6-5'7, but Choice offered him last June, so what would he even play here? He's not going to be 190 lbs at his listed height, he just isn't. I can't see a growth spurt of 3", but weirder things have happened. And to add to the lore, he apparently runs a 4.48. K. So, here are the "name" teams: min of 3 players (aside from Auburn. They're that bad at the position). SEC- Aggy: Moss - 5'11 210; Rueben Owens II - 5'10 215; Amari Daniels - 5'9 197 (he's terrible and small af) UGA: Nate Frazier - 5'10 210; Josh McCray - 6'1 235 lbs; Chauncey Bowens - 5'11 225; Cash Jones - 6'0 185 Bama: Jam Miller 5,10 221; Richard Young 5'11 210; Kevin Riley 5'11 190 Tenn: DeSean Bishop - 5'10 208; Star Thomas - 6'0 210; Peyton Lewis - 6'1 212 UF: Jaden Baugh - 6'1 231; Ja'Kobi Jackson - 5'11 215; Duke Clark - 6'1 211 OU: Tory Blaylock - 5'12 203; Xavier Robinson - 6'0 240; Taylor Tatum - 5'10 212 (If he's still alive. I have my doubts); Gabe Sawchuck - 5'10 195; irrelevant. Although he might be better off here if he ever wants to see the field. Everyone on their roster is abysmal. AUB: Jeremiah Cobb - 5'11 200; Damari Alston - 5'9 215; This room is moribund outside of Cobb. It's just so, so bad. Freeze should be arrested and fired for negligence on this position. The second worst I've seen from a "name" team outside of ou (see above) LSU: Caden Durham 5'9 205; Harlem Berry - 5'11 190; JT Lindsey - 6'0 190 Tex: Tre Wisner - 6’0 190; Ced Baxter - 6’1 227; James Simon - 5’11 205; Jerrick Gibson - 5’10 205; Christian Clark - 6’0 212; Derek Cooper - 6'1 205 (recruit) B1G- Michigan: Justice Haynes - 5'11 210 (fucking stud. Leads all RB'sw/ 700+ yds and close to 170-200 more than the next closest); Jordan Marshall - 5'11 215; Jasper Parker - 6'0 205 tOSU: Bo Jackson - 6'0 217 (absolute hoss); CJ Donaldson. - 6'2 232; James Peoples - 5'10 206 Penn State: Kaytron Allen - 5'11 217; Nick Singleton - 6'0 224; Jabree Coleman - 6'0 210 Ore: Jayden Limer - 5'11 205; Dierre Hill, Jr. - 5'11 205; Noah Whittington - 5'9 203; Jordon Davison - 6'0 236 (stud) USC: Waymond Jordan - 5'9 210; King Miller - 6'0 210; Eli Sanders - 5'10 200 ND (Independent, but might as well be B1G): Jeremyah Love - 6'0 214; Jadarian Price - 5'11 210; Nolan James, Jr. - 5'10 215 My point being is he's not coming here, even though in the beginning I wanted him, but saw his H/W. They're (247) going to drop him come the 2027 cycle. He might be electric, but he's overrated as a 5* on 247, like most recruits at this time of the year.

These bands go full boner hard. Throw in some Black Flag, Melvins, Circle Jerks, Social Distortion, Pixies, and Fugazi and and we might start doing some speedballs. Also, just gonna throw these out there, and if you don't like it, just throw it back: Tool Beastie Boys Deftones Queens of the Stone Age Any Wu-tang (all members, including honorary Redman). It's ok to if you're white to rap to the Wu, they love us. -

Their RB room makes ours from last year look like Bama's from 2010-2021. That room looks more vacated than a liquor store after 7pm in Baltimore. We all knew Demarco Murray was a trash ass recruiter, but got damn, that room seems not long for this world. Taylor Tatum, their "prize" is literally not even anywhere to be found. He played in every single game last year except for the RRS, and had 56 carries for 278 yards and 3 TD's.. He's carried the ball 10 times once, 9 times twice, 8 times once, and then it's 6 or less carries in 11 games. I don't know if he's hurt or what, but Ott ain't it, and neither are Robinson or Barnes. That room is moribund. Gavin Sawchuck (or more like SawSucks, amirite?) left for a worse team, and he wasn't even considered mid as he was a 3* transfer. He was the Velton Gardner without the missing eye for them and even wth snaps available, he still Houdinied. But hey, they still have his 3* recruit brother, Gabe. Jovante Barnes and Jaydn Ott are, uh, let me put this lightly- Asswater. They don't have a single RB, not one, with over 100 yards rushing. To put that into perspective, Texas has 5, and that doesn't include Arch, who would be 6. To say their RB room is depleted would be as close to saying Washington Park in Chicago is just the minority in poverty. It's beyond grim. Their WR's aren't much better. They have one WR with 3 TDs, Sategna III, (transfer from Arky), two with 2 TDs (Bukes, and four time transfer Keontez Lewis), and two with 1 TD (Xavier Robinson, RB, and TE Kaden Helms). We have one with 4 TD's (Wingo), 3 TD's (Jaggerson), 2 TDs (Endries), three with 1 TD (Moore, TE, J. Washington, and Wisner). This proves the gap between who he played against at Wash St vs the SEC is wider than South Austin's mom's cavern. Mateer is a bum. They literally let a bum go just to go grab a vagrant. All in all, I'll be honest- I don't think ou is a very good team. That doesn't take away from the performance the good guys put on, as it's a rivalry game and anything can happen, but yeah, Venebals is getting fired or has one more year to "prove it." Arch is getting better, and that's all I am asking for. I don't care what the numbers say, ou's defense is hardly "elite". Are they Good? Absolutely. Are they elite? No. Not at all. They have a few really good players who will get drafted or make a roster (not necessarily "stars") in the NFL, such as R. Mason Thomas, Kip Lewis, David Stone, Kobie Mckenzie, Robert Spears-Jennings, Peyton Bowen, Eli Bowen, and Jayden Jackson off the top of my head. None of this takes anything away from our offense, especially since our o-line is still "new" with Brooks learning as he goes, Arch is still learning, and we seem to just primarily run 12 peronnel with Wisner getting the bulk, and Simon/Clark/Gibson coming in for a spell for like 1-3 carries each. I like our TE usage, tho. Endries is a great get, and I'm starting to like Washington. 12 personnel was good, but I would like to see some 21 personnel to mix it up. Also, I saw this. It's pretty good.
