Give me the committee! Yes I would love a Bijan but having a #1 true RB allows teams to plan for him. Having a committee of RB’s give DC’s more to plan for and not just key on one player like Last year with Bijan which just proves how great he was, cause they still couldn’t stop him
Are you aware that in 2022 we had another running back who will likely get drafted and averaged close to 8 carries per game?

Interesting that USC is likely going to have one of the best TE groups in the country and they don't even use their TEs in their offense.
When your top guys are Lake McRee and Malcolm Epps, you better hope the TE position isn't a focal point of your offense at the P5 level. Guys like Sark and Riley are willing to involve TEs when they have a difference maker there (JTS or Mark Andrews) and Duce is that type of player.

I'm sure this has been discussed but just dawned on me that SJR came from that New Mexico State team. Poor guy has been at least tangentially involved in maybe the two biggest CBB scandals of the year - and thrived through it. Love him.

Stanford down by 7 to Chicago State in Palo Alto. Very curious decision by Andrej Stojakovic to choose that program.

3 way tie for first, but those teams only a game up on 3 other teams
And the bottom 4 can beat any of the top 6 easily
Best conference in America
Tech actually cannot beat any Big 12 team, much less easily

Morris could use a few more years. Hard to justify playing him in big games over more experienced players, but the tools are certainly there.

Kareem's skyhook, Olajuwon's dream shake, Dirk one legged fadeaway... Sir'Jabari slow-mo shot fake

As good as I think Mitchell is, Dominic Lovett and RaRa Thomas are better than him. He was the going to be the #4 receiving option at best on that team behind those two and McConkey who they seem to love.
I'm sure they were telling him he would be the #1 receiver in an effort to keep him.
I don't think a healthy Mitchell was going to buried on Georgia's depth chart. He was very, very good when on the field there.
Georgia fans seem to believe they brought Lovett/Thomas in to replace Mitchell as opposed to recruiting over him.

Beautiful, flowing offense here.

Looks like Saban is losing his DC, Pete Golding, to Ole Miss. Will be interesting to see if he allows Wiggins to leave.
"losing" Pete Golding the same way we lost Devin Richardson and Ovie Oghoufo

Good for him. I certainly wasn't expecting him to land at a program of that caliber - particularly since LSU has plus athletes and Ovie appeared to be somewhat limited physically while at Texas.

the jobs themselves are at least equal in a vacuum, although i'd argue that Texas is actually the better job. But whatever. It's semantics.

I don't think anyone is claiming it's unequivocally worse. Different coaches are going to prioritize different things, and the two jobs are different.
The post that I responded to actually claimed exactly that. In any case, I think Oats and Musselman make more sense for the Texas program than Cronin.

as i've said before, ucla lives out on a desert island, far away from the consciousness of 95% of CBB fans and recruits alike. nobody watches their games, nobody keeps up with their program, and nobody born after 1980 (earlier?) has any memory of UCLA being a dominant force/blue blood/elite destination. the job is not what it used to be, not by a long shot. UNC, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas- that's the big 4. schools like UCLA and Indiana are no longer in that upper echelon, and haven't been for some time. you can do everything at Texas that you can do at UCLA, while being paid way more, with no state income tax, while playing on prime time TV, in the Moody Center, in the heart of the best basketball recruiting ground in the country. the jobs themselves are at least equal in a vacuum, although i'd argue that Texas is actually the better job.
The only competition UCLA has on the west side of the country is U of A and Gonzaga. The program doesn't have great support at games (students are nerds and don't care), but it actually has strong donor support. Pretty great job with relatively low pressure, great weather and little media coverage. Very different job than Texas, but not necessarily worse.

Thought for sure we were going to get a commitment from this kid. I guess we will have to adjust and find another safety target.
Wish this kid all the best at Georgia. Is there talk of him reclassifying? Seems odd to be committing at an AA game as a junior.

I went to Texas but grew up in the Bay Area and come from a Cal family. I watch all their games. The Cal offense sucked beyond belief because of their o line. Their skill position talent is actually quite good. J Mike is a level above. Dude is phenomenal
With Plummer and Sturdivant leaving, it would be crazy for Ott to stay. Not only would he probably get a significant pay raise in the portal, but that offense is going to be DREADFUL next year. Recall them having another WR that was very good too, not sure if he has eligibility or is already leaving. What a mess.

He was a "thug". Probably got mouthy about the Sully statue too.
The statement is gross regardless of his background, but I'm pretty sure both of Anthony Lucas' parents are teachers/professors or something of the sort and he went to a pretty well-regarded high school. Can't put my finger on what makes him a thug?

I think the best option is to just abide by the rules of the platform that you play on (which seems to primarily be that if a game is not completed by Wednesday of the game week, scores and results stand as is) and split the winnings and/or have co-champions if the result was materially impacted by the postponement.

Whittington is not an elite WR. He's a good #3, because he has no deep speed, is an average route runner, and has never shown elite hands. He's a good player but he's replaceable. Sorry if that hurts your feels, but he's not a guy that would be drafted this year, which is probably the news he got and why he's thinking about returning for another season.
Great point. Three true freshman and two sophomores who did not combine for 70 receiving yards this year will surely all be better than the Whittington, who had 652 yards.
Whittington is a good P5 starter - I'd be thrilled if more than one of the guys you listed is at that level next year.

You are out of your mind if you think that any of the players you listed are guaranteed to be better than Whittington next year, much less all of them.

His physical tools are going to fool some overconfident coach that they can fix him while Austin Reed throws for a billion yards for somebody else.
Also, his dad will sweeten the deal by adding in his younger brother - who is a stud.

ROACH
Three portal names I'm tracking right now
We will try to drop some quick updates throughout the name but here are three guys I'm checking on.
Fentrell Cypress II - DB - Virginia
Graduate transfer and PFF First Team All-ACC this past year. Excellent academic prospect who should value education at his next stop. Have heard there's been some early interest from the Longhorns.
Dasan McCullough - EDGE - IndianaFormer Top 100 prospect in the 2021 class who visited Texas several times. Oklahoma has an early edge and his father is on staff at Notre Dame. I believe Texas will be involved.
Mumu Bin-Wahad - CB - West VirginiaTexas was involved with him down the stretch last season but backed off once they knew they were getting Terrance Brooks. Close with several members of the Texas roster. Played in three games this year so he should retain his redshirt.
I'm not sure I've ever seen Roach "report" something on recruiting that you couldn't find from just browsing on Surly. It's definitely better than just making shit up like FCB or Ketch but he is really useless at his job.

Tarp better watch it with that rhetoric before Liucci hits him with the ban hammer and/or challenges him to a fight at the TexAgs office.
