I'm talking about firm offers / installments while recruiting, before enrollment.

See above and CTJ and a few can give more details. We essentially operate like an NFL team. We have salary caps to fiscally manage our roster. It's why we don't have mass player exodus (aggie, etc). You may eventually get a firm NIL deal but it's not our first selling point ever.

Following the money, how do we contrast with our main competitors? I remember reading that we hold off on firm figures / installments when others don't, but maybe I was dreaming. It could explain our streak of weak summers and strong closings.

We can outbid nearly anyone. BUT we have a salary structure. It's why you see roster retention here. The Fausi recruitment is a great example. OU paid a lot. We weren't willing to blow up our roster dynamics for him, rightfully so.

After July 1, it is likely that the pattern of commitments will change. We are, as I understand it, already on the course of stable roster building and NIL$ allocation. Other schools may be making promises and deals which are one-off because of the impending house settlement effect and/or deleterious to stability/morale because of disparities on the team relating to nothing more than timing of signing.

    The doctor has spoken.

  4. Only guys that I recall by name I would have liked to have gotten are Roseborough and Edwards (half because it ends the do we actually need a RB this class debate - I'm in the no, we don't camp). I see Krempin as a development project. He's going to need greatly increased lower body strength and build to block any elite EDGE in SEC. We've all seen how aggy doesn't develop any positions other than RB. Glad we didn't go nuts to get him. Hoping Lee will fall our way. Doesn't sound like it will so Ojo and JTIII sound great to me.

Look how many of their guys had to reshape their bodies for draft hopefuls after the Moffet fat up program and lack of production from a "super star" DL.

Does anyone have opinions on Max Wright? He's certainly big but is he OT starter material with some work? Or move inside?

  5. Wow, not a name I had on radar. CTJ / others did we back off on Dre knowing this? Got to be some inside scoop here? Young man should see early time at 250ish lbs and fast feet. Huge win!

And Vito, the chick that shows the Longhorn booty shorts never gets old. Do like the new cheerleader chest bump photo - hadn't seen that one before.
