  1. Weird what happens when we go opposite-field instead of trying to pull everything.
  2. CP pitcher is a stud. Shook off that craziness and continued to deal. Seems like he should be playing for a better program...
  3. Not the whole thing, but maybe part of it.
  4. 16-10 Texas bottom 7th
  5. Saw the graphic about Chase Burns transferring from Tennessee to Wake Forest. Guess he wasn't happy being moved from the starting rotation to the bullpen.
  6. I don't think I'll truly understand how we have such issues stacking a roster. We're only one of the top baseball programs in college baseball history. Why are we always so damn thin while other programs just reload every year?
  7. Pitching and defense, Texas' trademark, and we have neither.
  8. Have we learned how Abmus is pronounced Ace-mus yet?
  9. Did we really make the Elite 8 last year?

    2024 NCAA Baseball

The baseball version of Scott Sterling.
  11. Breaking: Grubbs out for season with broken hand
  12. PP's average dropping like a rock, from .455 to .417.
  13. Playing some damn good baseball this inning. Love it.
  14. Bases loaded with 1 out and speed at the plate? That's not much of an experiment - a pop up or double play ground ball are about the only way you can fail. Just about anything else scores a run. Belyeu's hitless too and if he's such a stud, his bat would be in the lineup already. I would have given Kennedy the AB.
  15. Gasparino's not even getting the bat on the fastball. Just straight whiffs, over and over.
  16. That was a good opportunity to learn a lot about a freshman, give him some confidence, etc. Especially with only 1 out. Pretty much anything but a double play ball is a success. But nope, let's pinch hit for him.
  17. Is O'Dowd still 0-for-2024? Good walk/at-bat there. Good to see him work the pitcher vs. swinging for the fences on every pitch.
  18. I agree 100%. We've obviously had success in the past adhering to the standards. Is it sustainable in the future, or is overall baseball culture shifting away in a manner that makes it harder to do? NIL lends itself to being a "character", having a sellable image, etc. Will players be as willing going forward to lose all the individual bullshit and play within a culture like ours?
  19. I know. And again, I'm all for it. I'm just wondering if it has an effect on recruiting. Do we miss out on this guy because he wants his long hair, beard, gold chains, silly eye black, etc....(his swag)?
  20. Maybe the top talent in the 2020's would rather play for long/dyed hair, beards, earrings/gold chains, trailer park looking programs where they're allowed to show their "swag." There's a marked difference in the culture at Texas and LSU; you can see it from appearances alone. We either force conformance with clean cut/professional culture or we recruit it - either way, we likely exclude some good talent in the process. Don't get me wrong - it's one of the things I've always appreciated about Texas baseball and, in my mind, I can't see why anyone would want to play anywhere else. It just makes me wonder if the societal shift toward "all about me/look at me" affects old school/classic programs like Texas when it comes to pulling (some) talent.
  21. Gotcha. Thanks for the update. Wonder what's up with the kid. Some people can't mentally bounce back from injury; maybe he's one of them. Hope not. He had huge upside before the UCL tear.
  22. LHN was stuck on tennis for a bit. Y'all mind giving a little update on Witt? Was he pulled because of command or did he injure his arm again?
  23. Flores can't make a 127' throw when it matters. FFS.
  24. Did I see that correctly? Tumis is 6'4" 155? That's skinnier than skinny.
