Anyone not saying A&M is a Longhorn fraud

OU is our biggest rival and our annual game is in contention for the biggest rivalry in NCAA competition.

TAMU is only our rival because our literal idiot-cousins attended that backwater and won't let us forget it. There will be no peaceful Thanksgiving dinners in my family for the foreseeable future - no matter how irrelevant those fucks become. FML.

Baseball is going to hit a meat grinder - LSU, Vandy, UF, Ole Miss, Arky, aggy, Tennessee. That one scares me a little.

No doubt baseball will be much harder, but hopefully, it will just make the team better when they get to the postseason. You can't argue with our results there.

Hopefully the increased difficulty in Baseball will be balanced by an easier Basketball lineup. We'll have a new KU at the top of the heap, but the field will be weaker overall.

  3. Just stumbled across the thread this morning and started looking at the history of the competition. I remember learning about the Directors' Cup way back when Chris Sims and our best were on the cover of SI head to head with all the Stanford Olympians - looked like an X-Men comic book cover.

Anyway, I'm noticing we haven't had much in-conference competition (Nebraska never finished top-10 after we joined the B12, and TAMU didn't show up in the top-10 until moving to the SEC.) It will be interesting and fun to have in-conference competition next year from Florida, who've had more top-10 showings than us. The SEC also has a ton of teams that have at least shown up in the top-10 once or twice: LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee. I'm curious to see how the SEC competition will affect our Cup standings.

Anybody know how our sports programs line up with the SEC schools' and their strengths? I have no clue about the SEC Olymic sports.

They'll be around - the same way Tottenham was in the European Super League. Wealthy teams with lots of gullible fans who routinely lose to power programs are a perfect base to round out the numbers.

As a 'Spurs supporter, I resent this statement as much as the truth behind it kills me.

As long as the money's there, we'll always get a seat at the table. If there's a seat at the table, there's a shot that something in the club changes and we win the league.

And that is the Aggiest thing I've ever said. It must be miserable to be them.

I don't think you were trying to do this, but High School band sounds a lot like TAMU.

With all this positive turnover and the ability to build for your own system through the portal, Aggy should expect to be world beaters by years 2. Elko's seat will be mighty hot in 2025.

Just another opportunity for positive turnover, I guess.

The cheapest available on stub hub this morning were $1250. If you buy now, worst case is Alabama (been there, done thatl) and Washington (don't care, too far) win and you still probably break even selling them.

This won't be a "been there done that" year for the Gumps. They know they are fortunate to be in at all, and with little Nicky's age they can't take championships for granted anymore.

True, but my broader point is that Texas and Michigan would open the floodgates of demand for tickets. Bama would represent if they make the final but of the 4 possible finalist,  Bama/Wash would yield the lowest turnout.

We don't get a lot of sacks.  Fortunately, they don't run the ball very well so we can play base with Sweat & Murphy clogging things up and try to keep the passing game in front of us.

We don't have to sack him. If Sweat lands on him (or Ant Hill puts a shoulder in his chest) after the release, it might be the last throw of the game for him.

I'm not suggesting we play dirty, but we need to be physical and test his durability.

    Keys to winning this game

    1. Jump out to an early lead
    2. Don't allow Washington any sort of running game.
    3. Pressure Penix into bad throws

All 3 are doable, the last one most important. If Penix has time he can pick apart any secondary in the country, and ours has been shaky at times to say the least.

Penix is made of glass. We need to pound his ass. Like we need Sweat and Murphy to make a Penix sammich by the end of the 1st qtr.

PSA, I've been looking for this '47 hat for a while. It's been available in other schools' colors on other sites. Finally back at Co-op in the right colors.

If this hat were maroon, they would enlarge Texas so that Brownsville would be at the base of the bill and the panhandle would be at the button.
