The guy has clearly heard a lot from and listened to his uncles on what it takes to be successful.

Based on what Kiffin said in the interview linked above, Arch is really driven to prove he's more than a name/legacy. One reason he came to Texas was that his uncles' name isn't all over campus.

I'm glad to see he's working hard to get out of the shadow and I'm just as happy that the shadow is so huge.

Get out there and prove yourself, Arch.

People have been saying that the portal and NIL was going to ruin college football. I didn't see why that had to be the case. I get it now. I used to love the NFL, but free agency pretty much has ruined it. The team doesn't mean anything. I saw Harvey Martin interviewed one time. They asked him about throwing a funeral wreath in the Redskin's locker room one time after they kicked their asses. He said he can't believe the way players laugh and hug the other teams players after games. He said back then the teams hated each other. That was great football. The NFL has become almost unwatchable now. I still love college football but it's headed the same direction.

Why is it a bad thing that NFL players are at liberty to play where they want and get paid what they're worth? How is it a bad thing that college players are at liberty to transfer once without penalty in their 5 years of eligibility? They should have the right to play for the team that suits their needs and compensates them the best.

You're living under the delusion that every player on the team you love must loves the team as much as you. Many of the players that come to UT picked our team because our coaches can get them in the NFL or maybe they like the academic programs at UT Austin... maybe it was the on-campus talent that drew them here.

No NFL team is full of players that grew up rooting for them. The draft fucks that up. A fan-team relationship is asymmetric and transactional. You love the team, you give them money, they perform in the game for you. Most of the plays like the attention, but expecting the players to love your team like you do is like falling in love with a stripper.

You can still enjoy the show, but know what you're getting into foe fucks sake.

Only morons thought Milroe sucked. Go read my posts mocking that idea the day after our game. Along with CTJ and other non regards.

It can't be denied even the goat was looking for a replacement in game 3 vs South Florida, but yeah I could see in our game where Milroe had potential to be dangerous if he just got a wee bit better in the passing game, and it seems he's done that.

There's a big difference between benching a guy to teach him a lesson vs doubting his talent.

aggy is the embarrassing relative who shows up to family reunions and holiday gatherings immediately talking about themselves as soon as the door opens.

Bloviating about their new car, new house (never how much in debt they are because of them), how important their work is, how proud they are of their cross-eyed, lice-haired, booger-eating kids and on and on.

All while being oblivious to the fact the rest of the family is rolling its eyes, getting up to get a refill and going outside to shoot the shit with less insane relatives.

So aggy just talks louder spews their incoherent bleating to whomever in the room will "listen."

    It's not hate.

It's scorn and contempt at the recognition of their endlessly doltish behavior.

It's embarrassment that they "have a seat" at the same table as the sane adults in the room.

Wow. I see you. This is all so true.

There are 640 fluid ounces in five gallons, so to get your 5 gallons of chili, just go out and buy 6 of these big boys, throw 'em in a pot and warm it up, and call it a day.

WOLF BRAND Chili No Beans, Chili Without Beans, 106 oz.

One of my family's favorite stories to retell at gatherings is how my aunt bit into a piece of hide (with hair) while eating Wolf chili. She sent it to them and they sent her back a postcard with a generic apology and two cases of wolf brand chili.

She was a broke college student at the time so she still ate the chili.

Maybe so,  but at least one of them I know personally, still wears UT gear when he's home in Austin.  They knew all along they didn't have the grades to get into Texas, it's not like it was some huge surprise

Oh, I think I misunderstood you. You're talking about STUDENTS, right? Not scholarship athletes for the Arky FB team? Yeah that's different.

get ready to hate half your schedule.  SEC is choke full o' assholes

UF has like 4 rivalry games, 5 on years we play Duh U

I'm really looking forward to building some new rivalries in the SEC. I want more spirited rivalry games with teams that aren't embarrassing to lose to - LSU, Tennesse...

Texas will get no extra credit in the rankings for overcoming hillbilly Jihad in Fayetteville or overcoming redneck Jihad in College Station. But those teams show up for the game so hyped on hate that they're spitting their own teeth out. All risk no reward.

  8. I don't think that's guaranteed. Last I heard OU will be annual but A&M and Arkansas may alternate on our schedule.

I would be happy with that.

I know their entire fight song is about us and we mention them in ours. The tune of Texas fight is a parody of farmers fight. But all that s*** was written 100 years ago and things change. A&M is the second class rival
