My brother picked this up as a 6th birthday gift for my son. It's Birmingham Small Arms falling block .357, made in Australia. Don't know very much about it yet, but a pretty neat little gun

Just a data point not wholly related to the topic, but a person can easily get sucked into a relatively small diameter gravity main. In 2020, there was a guy in Austin working in a manhole that was flowing and sucked him into a 18" line where he went for a ride until his body was recovered a few miles downstream at the plant.

Between Wharton and Bay City. During the initial filling, a good bit of seepage discharge was observed on downstream side of the reservoir. A bentonite cut off wall was installed at beginning of construction, but there ended up being some sand pockets that weren't effectively cutoff which lead to the seepage issues. I know they're installing some relief wells to mitigate the seepage issue. I don't recall if they also ended up driving sheetpile on the interior of the ring dike.

Under high pressure, goes BOOMFor the uninitiated rubes w/o chemistry knowledge, oil and O2 mixed is very bad, correct?

At first I was intrigued, but that accounts handle and lack of link suggests fake news-

They'll have access to sufficient water once the Alliance Regional Water Authority finishes out construction of their Phase 1B, though the next phase will probably be coming up sooner than originally planned

There's enough empty volume in Buchanan such that they don't have* to make releases.

I carry the 365 xmacro tacops with an enigma holster and am pleased with how easy it is to conceal. As important as the gun itself is the holster. If it’s uncomfortable or difficult to carry, you’ll rarely carry – defeating the entire point.
I carry a 365. Wish I had gone with the XL or slightly larger option. It’s a small gun, very easy to carry/conceal, not so great at the range. Small guns are hard to shoot effectively. I’m adding a red dot. If you can add a light, add a light. Like mama always said: “nothing ever good happens when the lights are out”. Also helps being able to see what you are aiming at. Then comes the practice, dry fire exercises and clearing your holster.
The gun itself has been flawless. Small mags are a PITA to load, but they all are. God willing you’ll never have to use it, so practice, take it apart and reassemble as many times as you can, keep it clean, and it will work for you. Is there a range nearby where you can rent various models to try out?-

Here I was assuming you were either a lawyer or an engineer. Now I know, you're the BD guycosign.-

50% is high. It's been awhile since I looked at the averages, but I think net evap is on the order of 30-40 in/yr. But you're correct, ASR has the potential to cut those losses dramatically. That said, one of the technical challenges to ASR is protecting your stored water bubble. If the groundwater gradients are too steep (relatively high lateral movement), this can cause a portion of the stored water to move beyond the capture radius of the well, and that water is essentially 'lost'. On the most recent asr Class V injection well authorization I worked on, losses do to groundwater movement came in around 25%.

For sure. And it can be a hard sale as it's not a new water supply but just firms up existing supplies.ASR (aquifer storage and recovery) is a thing, and it's increasingly being explored as a supply option. But, like all new options....it has both cost and logistical hurdles. -
I know some entities around Houston are exploring this (capturing and injecting stormwater). The difficult part is that you have do some level of pretreatment before injecting. At a minimum this would involve knocking out suspended solids to prevent fouling of the formation. Beyond this, the state regs require that the injected water be of at least as 'good' of quality as the native groundwater. There needs to be away to pump this excess water down into the aquifer
The technology is there, but the infrastructure requirements are substantial especially when considering that there may be extended periods of equipment/facility downtime.

It will be interesting to see what the state does here re: Aqua. There are two (at least) regulatory issues here. The first is with regards to the groundwater district being able to recover damages for the overpumping by Aqua, which will end up in court. The second is with regards to Aquas inability to maintain minium regulatory capacity in its public water supply system in violation of state law. I could see they're CCN being revoked, though doubt any entity will be willing to take it over.

UTRWD is currently building one, Ralph Hall, just a stones throw from Bois D'Arc. There are quite a few reservoir projects both conventional and off channel included in the regional water plans from the last cycle. I anticipate we see quite a few going in over the next three decadesNot great but not surprising.

Based on the story, I'd have assumed this individual was one of Cherokee Shores finest. Kind of through me for a loop after I looked at his Facebook

Early bird for the squirrel buffet. It was perched in a crepe myrtle about 10 feet out the backdoor. First time I've observed one this close to a house.

Re-frame your thinking. You're not purchasing a gun; you're contributing to your child's future savings/college account via your 357 plan.Nice python. I need to sell a kid if I wanna get one.-

I can rarely remember a name after initial encounter, but I'm wanting to say it was Keith (short hair slender fellow, maybe late 40s early 50s). Please correct me if I'm wrong on the name.
Nice. Who helped you?
