After watching Tyson pull punches - why would people bet on Joshua??

i mean, if this were an honest fight then joshua wins by ko in round 1. i truly do not understand how this is what boxing has become. you have bud crawford, a fighter who is >>>> floyd mayweather (the last true boxing star), who just retired to basically zero public notice or fanfare. meanwhile the biggest fight of the year is one where it can only be competitive if it’s 100% rigged. i’m too old for this shit.

  2. also CDC isn’t losing me, he’s been absolutely crushing it everywhere else. his seeming indifference to men’s basketball hurts me a ton (i’d let the football team go 7-6 every year from now until infinity for a 30-win, title winning hoops team), but it doesn’t mean that CDC is losing me. he’s not. he’s the man. he simply seems to currently not give a shit about men’s basketball.

Then I suggest a thread title change to “CDC is losing me”. Also if CDC is the one limiting our budget to go after players whether they are recruits or portal it is news to me.

well that’s what i’ve been told. men’s hoops isn’t a priority. just look at the HC we hired and the mediocre-ass transfers he brought in. i mean chris beard didn’t bring in a ballyhooed transfer class year 1, but he brought in the exact right players for what he was trying to do and we saw an immediate turnaround. this time, we hired a coach that no other program with “top 10 aspirations” would have even considered hiring, who then brought in a bad transfer class, bereft of PGs, shooters, and lacking in sec quality players. does it look to you like we’ve been splashing the cash on basketball? i don’t think so.

I doubt this goes well, both because I'm not sure Ewers will be ready and because the Dolphins in general are terrible, but despite the cold the Bengals defense is a good draw for a first start. Hope he balls out.

the bengals just made the shitty ass ravens look like super bowl contenders. quinn probably couldn’t have asked for a better opponent. also the bengals run D is awful, so miami should be able to take pressure off quinn by running the rock a ton.

Him saying that you’re prone to highlighting Quinn’s poor play is what you would consider unprovoked in this thread? L o fucking l you baby.

when a guy has been banned *literally* five different times for coming at another specific poster unprovoked, it is just wildly tone deaf and hilariously stupid for that person to come off of a three month ban and just jump right back in to taking the same ad hominem shots that have gotten him banned countless times in the first place. like a guy who gets out of jail after his 5th dui and goes straight to the bar and then tries to drive home. it’s truly incredible that motown would do that, but i suppose it’s also not surprising. you don’t get banned from surly five times by accident.

    Dumb question:

Obviously the incoming freshman class will have holes and won’t solve the roster. Is it unreasonable to expect Texas to be active in the portal to fix the roster for next season?

we’re going to hit the portal, but everything that CDC has done from the HC hire to the current transfer class suggests that our budget will be limited compared to other “top” programs.

she’s mistaking “fashionable” with “cool”. donald trump has made it fashionable to be a loud mouthed, bigoted, racist, xenophobic fucktard, but nobody outside of their own admittedly/alarmingly large circles thinks that these pathetic, remedial class, human adult cosplayers are “cool”.

  8. it’s obviously no secret that i’m less than thrilled with the sean miller hire, but holy fucking shit am i thankful that we no longer have a HC who only speaks in vague maxims and never addresses or sets real expectations and goals.

“who truly wants to pour into the other four guys with him out on the floor and be all in on Marquette.” like what the fuck does that even mean? it’s nothing. it’s an act. it’s a sham, designed to avoid shaka ever having to take any accountability for anything that happens in his program. it’s never about anything earnest or tangible, it’s *always* about who “wants to put into the other four guys on the floor”, and how if his team is going to improve they “need to start having more better tomorrows”. i will root against this clown with a passion until my last breath. he is the worst thing to ever happen to Texas Basketball, and that includes Bob Weltlich.

it’s unclear where the claim of thread policing even came from.

come on, no it isn’t. you asked me what the point of making my post was, and then a gaggle of people who never post in this forum ran in here to go, “jesus christ derka, you ruined this thread as soon you made it, like you always do.” you act like the myriad of people who all had the same reaction to that are in some sort of shared delusion, and not just witnessing (for the eight billionth time) a case where i make a post that turns into a big, contentious deal when nobody would have batted an eye had anyone else made the exact same post. the responses to my OP/this thread were stupid, childish, and unwarranted.

The thread title "...Losing Me" implies you were to some degree bought in with the hire.  Then you immediately say you were not.

i never wanted him hired, but once he was the hire i was always going to give him an opportunity to show that i was wrong. we aren’t even two months into his first season and he’s already losing what little faith i chose to put in him. this roster is a terrible mix of a)no pg, b)no shooters, and c)frankly lesser talented players. our defense is the worst it’s been since tom penders. our recruiting class is three guys who all play the same position and who won’t be impact players for another two years. and fan interest seems to be at an all time low. it’s been a pretty spectacular string of failures to start his career at Texas, and the future doesn’t look any better. i wanted to be proven wrong, but i’m already losing what little faith i wanted to have in him.
