Anywhere along the Upper Arkansas from Salida to Leadville.  Lots of hiking, fly fishing, and other outdoors recreation, the mining museum and Matchless Mine in Leadville rock, and scenery every direction you look.

If you aren’t looking for crowds and still want to be somewhat close to a major highway, this is the way. If you want a bit more open space and less civilization, you could do Granby to Grand Lake/somewhere in the Never Summers as well.

Estes, Vail, Breck, etc will all be pretty busy during that timeframe.

They’re actually supportive of VaTech using it. Also, that ACC tweet was shit - it’s infinitely better for night games.

ESPN and FOX both own significant Big12 rights, and they both come out ahead with Oregon and Washington in the Big 12.   With fucking Rutgers getting a full share in the B1G, I have a difficult time seeing Oregon or Washington agreeing to a reduced share, but it's possible.   I just don't see the value for ESPN or FOX here.  The only ones rooting for this are those who love the idea of a P2 system when it's becoming clear the networks want a P3.  And while the schools can always say no to an offer, that's the extent of the say they have in all this.

The one thing I hope everyone can agree on is that Utah belongs back in the cellar.

There is no such thing as a P3. The differences in the media deals between the SEC/Big 10 and the Big XII illustrate that pretty damn clear.

that’s why UO, UW, FSU and anyone else worth a damn will want to get into one of the big two. Signing with the Big XII just confirms that they are left behind.

Yes, that's accurate.  The Pac-10 had a wild misunderstanding of who had the leverage and why.  They thought OU and Texas needed them and it was the other way around.

Also, with the Colorado discussion, they barely move the needle in the Denver market.  Denver cares about the Broncos, now the Nuggets, and skiing.  They're not competitive in the major sports both on the field and financially.  To be honest, I'm not sure why the new Big 12 is taking them.  They're another mouth to feed whereas those 4 schools they just brought in all bring something to the table.

It goes Broncos, Broncos, Avs, Nuggets, Broncos, and then heading to the mountains. Deion is a story, but they really don’t grab the Denver market as it is a bunch of transplants.

Like the old Bill Hicks bit about the Gulf War and how everyone was worried about Iraq having the world's 4th largest army.

"After the first three, it a pretty big fucking drop-off."

You could say the same about the new Big Ten and SEC versus the rest of Division I.

  6. Think most people knew that Wagner were in no ways the “good guys,” but were hoping that it would topple the regime and at least open various factions to complete for the top position. Tough when the power has a nukes, but not likely that the opposition that we generally support would have the military power to start the revolution. Would be hoping for them to emerge later.
