Anatomy of a Fall. Didn’t love it. It’s too long and the resolution wasn’t awesome.

Yeah pretty much every character was more interesting and likable than her.  The trial was the best part.   I liked the sparring with the expert witnesses and the prosecuting attorney's jabs.

American Fiction is worth your time. Caught it on a flight. Jeffrey Wright is hilarious and touching, it’s great.

I enjoyed it too, although every white person (except his agent) being portrayed as a ridiculous caricature was a little tiresome and ironic.

According to the UT stats page LBJ's season ERA is now 6.03 and his conference ERA is 8.58.  In conference, teams are batting .327 against him and his WHIP is over 2. In his last 3 starts he has only made it through a total of 11.1 innings and has given up 19 hits, 13 earned runs, 7 walks, and 3 homeruns.  That does not inspire confidence.

He could do better than that throwing nothing but fastballs down the middle.  But he can't do that either.

Am I supposed to be impressed by that? He has two fucking wins. He was supposed to be our ace. Dude is cooked.

There aren't really many great options.   We only have 4 pitchers who are any good and 2 aren't available.  I'm just saying I can understand Pierce trying to squeeze an extra batter out of LBJ.

  5. I still think the decision is easy.   The program is not healthy.  Why?  Mainly because of decisions made by Pierce.  If you want to chalk some of it up to bad luck and then hang your hat on the classes that are currently signed or committed then I can understand that.  But I think you are only forestalling.   The pitching cupboard is bare and barring an Insane portal haul next year will be an absolute beating, followed by a firing.

  6. I feel like you see fewer pitchers now who can command a good breaking ball and change up.    They say the best pitch is a good fastball but I've never thought that was true, at least not until you get up in the upper 90s   There's so much focus on throwing with velocity that the art of pitching has gone by the wayside a little bit.  Meanwhile there are more hitters who are geared up to hit high velocity fastballs out of the park.   The game has become higher skilled on both sides but in a very narrow way.  You have guys throwing 95 to hitters who can hit anything up to 95 out of the park.  But a guy who can command a good curve and changeup with a 89 fastball can still get anybody out.  In other words the Pete Hansens of the world are fewer and farther between.
