  1. Why isn't there more being said about Saudi Arabia in all this? I thought I read that they were pushing restraint but shouldn't they be all over getting everyone to help them clean up the Houthis in Yemen?

Saudi got their shit absolutely pushed in by the Houthis. Even after they turned Sanaa into a Gaza-like graveyard over the course of six years - they would be stupid to open that can of worms again. It’s unfortunate that they couldn’t compel their slave labor to pick up arms.

  2. We starts The Brothers Sun last night, having no idea what it was.

Been a fun little watch so far

first half of the season was great, second half was terrible. just became monologues and boring ass conversations. should have been like 6 episodes max.
  3. I’d bet you that CA and FL are in an alliance as they both would prefer to be independent republics. once the feds are defeated, both go their separate ways. I gotta say, I’m intrigued.

  4. I guess I'm in the small minority that liked Leave the World Behind.  I thought the ending was great.  You gotta have priorities when the world is ending.

nah. absolutely loved it myself and am strongly contemplating a 3rd watch. cinematography, settings, and soundtrack was incredible, the symmetry in most of the scenes and transitions were really cool to see play out. felt incredibly “real” to me in the sense that these are genx parents raising genz kids in todays society being put in a classic apocalyptic setting but with a twist.

loved the lil girl being bathed in blue light at the end of the movie. I’d be willing to bet that if you liked Nope, you’d like LTWB.
  5. True you mocked Israel for having failed securing its border and having had a 911 moment.

10/7 and 9/11 may be similar, or more horrific, in many of ways, but they also differ. namely what else, outside of approving nukes or the forced relocation of 2MM locals - what else can we provide Israel so that they can feel safer? ability for US subsidized indefinite imprisonment of tens of thousands of people (many of them being teenagers) who haven’t been formally charged? putting them under a more strict naval blockade? never-ending unchecked unmitigated settler expansion? destroying their airports? a more heavily fortified/militarized border? eliminating the palestinians ability to control their own water, electricity, internet? stop and frisk that would make Giuliani blush? genocidic rhetoric being swept under the rug? you have all of the above and 10/7 proved you are absolutely not safe. What else could you ask for? Just tell me what unquestionable specific ability you want
after 9/11, the US overhauled the entire way you get on a flight/enter this country/control our airspace and knock on wood nothing since. if something like 9/11 happened again - I don’t see how that president wouldn’t be forced to resign by EOM. how can we continue to support Netanyahu 70 days in with no clear objective, strategy or path-forward?

You still didn't tell us why you were elated about Hamas' success.

a passionate response isn’t the same as elation. but it’s clear from your line of questioning that you’re more into pushing your narrative that Israel should do whatever they WANT to do. Not NEED, SHOULD, or HAVE to do.

  7. We are going to get dragged into a fucking shooting war with Yemen because the Houthi are going after ships that have nothing to do with Israel or Gaza.
Threaten our national security or economic interests, and occasionally we take notice and do something.

    really? our economic interests?
are these US ships? no. are they crewed by US citizens? nope
from an economic perspective id estimate that less than 5% of the cargo that goes through the Suez Canal is destined for the United States. this is a uniquely European/Chinese problem and I think its about damn time they step up to the plate here.
economically speaking, which do you think would have more of an economic impact on the US - we enter into a shooting war with Yemen and they immediately lob missiles/drones at the most prolific oil fields in the world (which our Patriot systems have shown to be…ineffective at protecting) and takes our eye off the ball in Ukraine or a 1% chance that 1% of the cargo destined for the US is indefinitely delayed.
Israel is 70 days, hundreds of war crimes, collective punishment, textbook genocide, and billions of bombs into a war with Hamas and those mfs are still shooting rockets into Israel. anyway you slice it - it ain’t fuckin’ workin and as long as Netanyahu is at the reins.

  8. Okay so Hamas sucks. Why did you sound elated over the success of Hamas? Do Jews suck too or do you just want them off Palestinian lands?

never would have thought Netanyahu moonlights as an idiot on surlyhorns. anyways I gotta go watch Texas vs LSU at the Halal Guys Showcase (can I say halal on here or are you going to accuse me of being a OBL apologist?) so it’s time to pregame. 🫡

  9. A couple of questions for you - Obviously you have some excitement about the success of Hamas. Why? Are they on your land?

fuck Hamas. they are a malignant disease that Israel thought they could control so they fed it and fed it and fed it to the point it became this gruesome unnatural sentient creature that does nothing but consume. it is a cancer to everything it touches and it thrives particularly on the pain of the Palestinian people.

Qatar is making the same mistake but that’s a story for another day.

  10. Because our strategic partner and the only democracy the ME was attacked by a brutal organization that is hellbent on killing all Jews, removing Israel off the map, destroying America and killing as many Americans as it can.

We have multiple US bases in Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, Saudi, UAE, Oman, Turkey Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Djibouti. 20+ bases, 100k+ troops.

Please tell me one thing of value, besides Jewish milkers, your so-called only democracy in the ME provides the US that these bases do not? Hell id argue that given the presence we have in those monarchies, a democracy in that area is a LIABILITY - CASE IN POINT BENJAMIN FUCKING NETANYAHU.

Netanyahu’s desire to delay justice for his stupidity, ignorance, and inexcusable failures as a head of state + Israel’s inability to play the long game/cruel bloodlust and desire for textbook genocide will cause us more foreign policy issues in the long-term than the 1MM+ Iraqi’s/Afghanis we’ve killed in the past 25 years. We have 10,000+ illegals crossing the border everyday and Oct. 7th proved our border is still 1,000x more secure than the most heavily US-subsidized militarized/surveilled border in the world outside of NK/SK.

A quote from last nights episode of Fargo really fucking hit home for me.

**Lorraine Lyon**: "So you want freedom without responsibility? Son there's only one person on Earth who gets that deal."

    **Sheriff Roy Tillman**: "The President?"

    **Lorraine Lyon**: "A Baby"

It’s not even the fucking tail wagging the dog, our foreign policy is leashed to a fucking fat little whiny baby that we continue to infantilize and coddle. A fat little whiny baby has caused more internal division in the US than BLM. We are going to get dragged into a fucking shooting war with Yemen because Israel wants all of the benefits of being a sovereign nation - but none of the responsibilities.

  11. BREAKING: Iran's president lands in Saudi Arabia for Gaza summit, first such visit in more than a decade
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has landed in the Saudi capital Riyadh for a major summit to discuss the conflict in Gaza.

The Iranian President was greeted by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, their first encounter since Saudi Arabia and Iran agreed to restore diplomatic relations earlier this year. It also marks the first visit by an Iranian president to the Kingdom in 11 years.

  12. This seems why our Tier I units are already over there.  My guess?  On target package identification, location, and elimination.  We already seen the CAG boys on the tee-vee.  If there's one thing that these units are damn good at, it's target package locations (Russia says hold my vodka).  Front line troops will work the streets, but at night, the hunters will be turned loose to play whackamole.

your lips to gods ears. but this ain’t 1967. this is 50 years of petrodollars going to gulf states later and 20 years of trying to normalize relations with Iran. literal trillions of dollars.
and based on what I’ve seen in Ukraine/Azerbaijan, drone warfare is quite the equalizer for the underdog.

  13. I’m not disagreeing with you, however…
Afghanistan is 250k+ square miles with a population just under 40 million.
Iraq is nearly 170k square miles with a population of more than 43 million.
Gaza is 141 square miles with a population of just over 2 million.
This isn’t exactly an Apples to Apples comparison.

Logistically Israel could (again not claiming they should) check each and every civilian and methodically go building by building/house by house and root out every terrorist/hide out/tunnel. It would be bloody and costly in a myriad of ways but it’s doable as the IDF now has nearly half a million active troops and advanced satellite resources and a stranglehold on their regional communication networks.

Have you added in the sq miles from the subterranean tunnels? Of which they have no maps or embedded assets?
Have you factored in that we’re the US, the greatest and best equipped army of all time, and they are a standing army of 100k with 350k in reserve, of which 40% are females, funded primarily by US aid? Are you really going to unleash your women on the alleged baby beheaders and bloodthirsty rapists on (and beneath) their soil?
Have you factored in the fact that 1500 Hamas soldiers on motorbikes paralyzed the entire country for 12 hours? Let’s not even mention what 10,000 Taliban fighters who have done nothing for the last 50 years but fight invaders could do if they find themselves called to another Islamic jihad?

If the IDF invades, they’ll be turning to tactical nukes within 3 months. good luck to us all after that.

  14. I guess it’s alright to throw monkey poo prognostication on a football board but there seems to be a trend of this explosion pointing right back at Hamas or their allies.

perhaps, but if hamas really has level a five-story building with a single explosive firepower - israel needs to rethink a few things. I don’t think Biden should be in the area either.
  15. i can’t see how it isn’t an israeli missile. every single video I’ve seen of a hamas rocket explosion seems like it has barely enough explosive power to light a couple smart cars on fire. like a dozen grenades or so tied together.
this one just wiped the whole hospital and a cool thousand people off the face of the map, I know hospitals keep lots of pressurized o2 but damn.
i think this is going to be huge turning point, no way the millions of the locally displaced palestinians don’t crank up the pressure in jordan/egypt/lebanon/syria. can’t see israel launching a ground invasion of gaza now.

  16. If you tell me you would be fine with a Horn whose jersey was honored and retired and hanging at DKR saying he was not a Longhorn, then I must be old senile school.

as a person who considers himself fairly rational, i’d like to better understand why a former player would be saying that. and I’d be up there pen and paper in hand if that former player is arguably the greatest athlete we’ve ever seen (only other two that are even in the conversation are MJ and Barry as I think playing in two American pro-leagues while completely and utterly dominating one of the two is a prerequisite). would be willing to include Ohtani on the basis of leading a pro-baseball team in HRs and ERA. maybe Steph Curry cause he has 4 rings, is the best 3 pt shooter ever and can go out and shoot a 72 from the tips is also absurd.
but I think he’s even further separated himself from these GOATs because he decided to get into coaching young men at the collegiate level on 8 toes! 8 fucking toes! literally sacrificed his body for his team!
Fundamentally though, I think it’s a bit whack when people claim they’re Longhorns w/o actually graduating from the school. I’m a fan of the Buffs, but wouldn’t ever claim to be a Buff. reverse applies too so Deion IMO is not a Nole. FSU fans publicly dying on this hill is just dumb as hell.
view from the cheap seats - Deion just needs four to six, 300 to 320 lb 6’2 to 6’6 corn fed IA/LA/TX mfs (maybe a dreadhead or two from Central FL that can cover sideline to sideline) and I think he finds that easily this off-season.

also, anyone else who compares Sanders (a mf first team NFL HOFer and is on track to be the 5th person to be inducted into the CFB HOF as both a player and coach) to either aggy (50,000 ppl with delusions of grandeur) and Baker (a journeymen QB playing on his 4th team in 4 years and will most likely never start an NFL SB game) will be reported to the proper authorities.

  17. Shane Gillis special is incredible. Ended up with me watching all his Gilly and Keeves sketches on YouTube. ISIS Toyota, Last White Football Team, Uncle Daycare, Militia Funeral.

Had a interview on the JRE podcast and he talks about getting hired by SNL and then immediately getting canceled, gotta give Lorne Michaels some credit on that one.

  18. Riot has about 450 MW of mining capacity in Rockdale at the old Alcoa plant. They plan on expanding to 750MW at that location. They are also currently in phase 1 construction of 250MW capacity in Navarro county and plan on expanding that to 1 GW.

In recent months the only money they have made is shutting down cpu’s and selling allotted electricity back to the grid instead. They have long term contracts to purchase at $0.02-0.03 kwhr and can sell back at much higher, all in the name of keeping the Texas grid stable.

any chance they said how long they have these deals? If it’s 10-20 years, $RIOT should be a billion dollar company soon.
  19. I honestly can't tell if this is a joke or not.

not at all. the prison system and meat processing (especially in the panhandle) are notorious for exploiting immigrants by taking advantage of their green card status. shut up do your job or the various agencies we have connections with will hold your path to citizenship hostage. the 102 children as young as 13 working hazardous overnight jobs cleaning slaughterhouses is another example.
