  1. It was bad enough for the people to revolt and overthrow it. Probably not a great idea for the US and Israel to reimpose it at gunpoint.

I dug this book out this evening and may try to re read it. The downfall began geopolitically centuries ago and sped up after WWI. Interesting read if you have got free days over the next weeks.

Probably wrong thread for dumb question amnesty, but anywhoo.

The airspace in Israel, Iran and Syria are all closed at the moment.  The normal peoples that live in these areas have lives and commerce that should continue.  Do medical trips have to be cancelled?  Do secondary arrangements to drive to a border state and depart from elsewhere become a part of all planning?  Families that are visiting have to upend their plans and find alternate routes?

It seems like a major inconvenience to me, but maybe it is just another part of life in the Middle East.

  3. And 55% of Americans if not more are too dumb to understand that, and will remain too dumb even as it's happening. Foreigner wants your cookie, and all that.

I wager that more than 55% would not be able to tell you that Israel targeted Iran with missile strikes last night
