  1. Yeah there are injuries on Oline. When healthy it’s among the best in league. I don’t know if Sam will make it in the league, but Eason sure ain’t it either. We’ll see who’s more coachable and continues to improve. With their defense they really just need to minimize turnovers which Sam didn’t do tonight.

Buddy we're a blue blood that hasn't won its conference in 20-or-so years, we can go ahead and get called a sleeping giant and understand why.

We were in the National Championship game 10 years ago and won it 15 years ago. We aren't winning as many conference championships as we should and the last decade has been rough sledding, but c'mon man.

It’s preseason. Let’s not get to sucking each other’s dicks here.

Detroit went undefeated in the preseason in 2008 and then turned in a historically bad season.

Dallas lost every preseason game and won a Super Bowl.

    We talkin bout practice.

I hope he sticks around though.

What does a team's W/L record in preseason have to do with the fact that Sam is competing for a backup spot on the team? This is almost as stupid a take as the guy who said Sam wasn't an NFL prospect despite being drafted. Continue trying to suck your own dick while telling yourself you're smarter than everyone else though.

do you know what "legit" means? thousands of guys have been drafted only to never have an NFL career. being drafted doesn't automatically make you legit.

similarly:  i, and many others here, always saw Poona Ford as having legit NFL prospects, even if the NFL brain trust didn't see him that way. he didn't get drafted, but his talent and skills shone through and he's now a legit NFL player. now we have a situation where, yes, Sam was drafted, but that does nothing to change who he is as an NFL prospect. again, after four full years at Texas Dam was never even able to become a *consistent* QB, much less one who looks like he has a future in the NFL. again- if Sam were not from Westlake, and if he played somewhere besides Texas, nobody here would be bullish on his pro prospects. you're letting your heart get in the way of logic. i understand it, but i can't agree with it.

I think you're the one getting emotional here. An NFL prospect is someone who wants to make the league. Sam was drafted into the league. He is no longer an NFL prospect. He is an NFL player. Now, if you want to say you don't think he'll be a "legit" NFL player, that is a reasonable take. To say he is not a "legit" NFL prospect, when he is already in the league is contrary to logic.

Sam ranged from mediocre to above average over his four years here, and he never looked like a guy who would go on to have an NFL career. even if Sam had two more years of eligibility he would have so much to work on and correct before even becoming a great college QB. he's erratic, he's inconsistent, he's not a great decision maker, he isn't a great athlete, and even in his final game as a Longhorn he was still making poor throws to wide open guys. instead of steadily improving, he pretty much remained the same guy only a year older and bigger. and his limitations became even further exposed when he no longer had Collin Johnson and Devin Duvernay to throw to. bottom line- if Sam had played for any other school then nobody here would think anything of him as a pro prospect, and furthermore, had he gone to OU, Baylor, or A&M i suspect that most here would say that he sucks and laugh out loud at the idea that he's a legit NFL prospect.

He was drafted. An NFL team thought he was a legit prospect. You can have your evaluation, but you can't say he's not a legit NFL prospect when he's in the NFL. The Colts clearly saw something on his tape that deemed him worthy of spending a draft pick on.

imo Sam has little to no shot ay being one of those guys. he just doesn't have it. it's one thing for a DB or a RB or a WR to get misused and poorly coached in college only to see them blossom in the NFL, but it's another thing entirely to be a Major Applewhite/James Brown-level QB for four years in college and suddenly blossom into an NFL starting caliber QB. Colt McCoy was/is twice the QB that Sam is and he's a career journeyman backup. i wouldn't count on Sam having some long, successful career in the league, or ever even earning a starting job for that matter.

I'm not saying Sam is going to be the starter, but this is silly. Take a look at Tom Brady's college numbers. Ryan Fitzpatrick. Josh Allen. Mark Sanchez. Matt Cassell. Kirk Cousins. There are plenty of dudes who have started NFL games who weren't great college QBs. And I disagree with the assessment of Sam being on Major or James Brown's level. He was better than them -- he was actually drafted by an NFL team.

  7. The Colts really want Eason to be the guy. https://www.1075thefan.com/kevins-sports-news/colts/day-8-colts-training-camp-notebook-xavier-rhodes-makes-camp-debut/

    • After a nice start, it wasn’t a great day for Jacob Eason. He was 9-of-16 in team work and struggled when the offense was backed up against its own goal line. Eason completed passes to Zach Pascal 2x, Jordan Thomas 2x, Nyheim Hines 2x, Jonathan Taylor, Marlon Mack and Jack Doyle. In a later drill in the red zone, you saw the good and bad with Eason’s big arm strength. His ball placement was a tad off on a pass to Jonathan Taylor in the red zone, and with his velocity, the running back couldn’t secure the pass. But later in the red zone, you saw Eason rifle one to Zach Pascal in the end zone, with the ball fitting into a small window for the TD. This is where Eason must harness that arm strength and continue to try to master pre-snap reads, thus knowing early in a play where to go with the football.
    • Sam Ehlinger had another solid day, going 10-of-14 in 11-on-11 sessions. In particular, Ehlinger was much better on Friday in the sessions with both offenses backed up against their goal lines. Ehlinger is stringing together consistent performances with the second-team offense. Hearing someone ask the question of Does Ehlinger deserve a starting session in a practice? isn’t the craziest thought.
    • One area where offensive coordinator Marcus Brady has seen Jacob Eason grow with these starting reps has been in reading progressions. Brady said the play he was most pleased with from Eason on Friday was where the quarterback quickly identified that the ball needed to be checked down to a running back. The play got the Colts a positive gain, and was a glimpse into the steps that the staff wants to see from Eason. It might look simple, but that’s what the Colts need to see.
    • Brady did note that rookie Sam Ehilnger is a faster processor than Jacob Eason. That’s not too surprising given their collegiate experience, with Ehlinger playing in 46 games and Eason playing in 29 games.

Oh. No…Im aware our market value is less without Texas on the schedule. No disputing that fact.

Im just stating that the 8 will be paid until 2025 and that Texas and OU tier one will go to the Big 12 until 2025 because they own those rights. Then members will be allotted their shares.

Yall can play those games wherever you like, but the Big 12 is getting that money until 2025.

The only relief occurs is if the Big 12 disbands.

Yeah. We'll see if the GOR holds up in court. I don't think any conference wants to see that play out.

The Lions are one of at least two teams believed to have talked to Campbell during this year's hiring circuit, with the New York Jets being the other, but the source said the Lions' conversations with Campbell did not go beyond their first interview.

Campbell, who does not have an agent, posted a message on Twitter on Jan. 10 saying he was staying at Iowa State. Less than a month later, he agreed to a new eight-year contract that ties him to the school through the 2028 season.

So he did the first round of interviews.

I don’t know if the Lions’ getting on that plane and visiting Campbell would have led, eventually, to an offer being made. What I do know is that one wasn’t made. And, again, that Detroit’s not alone in its interest in the Cyclones coach.

The Lions offered Campbell the Matt Rhule contract and he turned it down. Guaranteed HC contracts in the NFL are not the norm. I know he’s a loyal guy, but his agent failed him.

What are you even talking about. He didn't even interview.

Am just waking up from a nap and didn’t read the hashtags below the tweets. I was going to ask who this girl was, but realized I could look it up myself.

So it feels a little inappropriate that everyone is going nuts over a 17 year-old breaststroking girl…

…but then I was wondering…who the breaststroking girl was/is in the green cap?
