How the fuck does he think we will be competing with *check notes* Kibble and a RS-SO Jackson Christian? IOL should be a priority. We would be absolutely retarded not to look for at the very minimum two IOL. I get they're not WR/RB tree-shaking and fall into your lap, but God damn, we cannot use Stroh, he's the worst OL ever (sorry Tristan, you've been overtaken), and as much as I like Kibble's upside, he's gotten no playing time, and I dint trust the eval on Christian.

I think it's OK to say that the ideal way you build your line is through high school kids.

But then point out that Texas must have dropped the ball with a few evals and took some light classes leaving the cupboard a little dry and thus we need to hit the portal some.

It's not like the coaching staff is doubling down on the size of the incoming high school OL class.  So they have to be keeping some spots warm for some portal prospects IMHO.

I would think (completely guessing with no example or stats to back this up) that it would be easier to find competent guards in the portal than competent tackles.  If our two tackles stay another year, you could get 2 starters and have 1 G/T type that could back up everyone and be thin, but OK with the kid that got hurt to start the season.  (I think)

Texas needs 2-3 linemen in the portal at minimum this offseason. Between poor evaluations and light classes the room is a disaster, especially on the interior. If Baker and Goosby come back we still need more depth at the position.
