  1. If you count the FCS National Championship Game, three now because of this one.
  2. Yeah, that was the real Frisco Bowl. There was one more bowl eligible team than there were available bowl slots this year (before A&M had to opt out) so they bumped Hawaii up to bowl eligibility because they had six wins (they went 6-7) so right before the bowl season they created the game being played right now so everyone could to go a bowl and I guess Frisco was like, "sure why not, come play here." You're right about it being hilarious they didn't paint over all the branding from the Frisco Bowl. They did at midfield, but left the Tropical Smoothie Cafe logos on the field. I think MLS soccer specific stadiums would make for much better venues than football stadiums would for some of these games. There was nobody at the Potato Bowl in Boise and that's just 16,000 more seats than Toyota Stadium but the difference is noticeable.
  3. According to the Miami game notes this is the first time they've played on grass since 2010 which seems impossible.
  4. Miami Oh vs North Texas in a game that was literally made up right before bowl season so that every bowl eligible team could go to a bowl game. UNT is up 7-3. I know there's another degenerate out there watching it somewhere.
  5. Are you a cop? You have to tell us if you're a cop.
  6. This is a good read on Brennan Marion's rise through the coaching ranks. I think it's interesting that he developed his offense at a high school for billionaires' kids so nobody cared if they were good and he got to do what he wanted. After reading it, I'm more convinced that he'd take the Temple OC job than I was before (he seems aspirational which you'd hope a young coach would be) but nevertheless, it's a good read. https://ftw.usatoday.com/2020/09/gogo-offense-brennan-marion-hawaii-innovation-scheme-analysis
  7. Will be an all-time fuck up on Narduzzi's part if he doesn't give Marion the Pitt OC job so hopefully he fucks up.
  8. Marion is a big time up-and-comer in the coaching industry, a high volume recruiter who is well respected in the industry and beloved by his players. It would be a big time hire. I also wonder if it happens if he'd be able to convince Jordan Addison to come with him. Pittsburgh would be replacing a first round pick QB, it's OC and the WR coach a lot of people thought might get that OC job. It's maybe a pipe dream, but nice to think about.
  9. This piece was cut by the former Director of Player Personnel Derek Chang
  10. Man, Montana (the state in general) is a place I really want to go watch a game. Every picture I see at UM and MSU is insane.
  11. They were really the only FCS team that was on linear ESPN networks this Spring and had one game and the SWAC title game on ESPN networks this Fall. I'm sure ESPN is going to move some games to ESPN2 or ESPNU in the Fall depending on the TV contracts.
  12. I have two takeaways from this. 1) Barstool Sports just became one of the biggest power brokers in college athletics. 2) Jackson State is going to (once again?) be ruined because of this. The NCAA is too chickenshit to go after big fish, but Jackson State is the perfect target for them. They'll start sniffing around and come up with something. As soon as they put the tiniest bit of heat on, Deion is out of there and honestly after this recruitment he's probably going to get another job anyway, and the NCAA will drop the hammer on Jackson State because they're a bunch of cowards.
  13. It's absolutely wild that none of the bad shit that happened to Texas football this season isn't going to end up mattering. The OU collapse, the other collapses, the Kansas game, the monkey (which I maintain wasn't a big deal), the Bo Davis bus thing (which is really just a poor reflection on whoever released it). None of it even matters a little bit. Throwing around some major NIL cash coupled with the coaching carousel royally fucking some teams, particularly Oregon and Oklahoma, and Texas just inked a recruiting class that legitimately has potential to get the program moving in a positive direction. Lord knows they have to develop those players and we know how much of a problem that has been, but damn, none of the bad shit that happened this season ended up mattering. It's establishing an extremely low bar, but after the previous two coaching staffs we'll take what we can get, but kudos to this staff for realizing that things in the trenches, especially on the o-line, were a complete disaster and needed to be fixed. Kudos to whomever it was, probably CDC, who got the boosters all working together for once to come up with the NIL programs we needed to make this happen. Who the fuck knows if it's going anywhere positive, but just the fact that we signed this class after thing that happened this year is absolutely bonkers.
  14. In 2020 Alabama replaced three starting offensive linemen and had one of the best offenses in college football history behind and offensive line that won the Joe Moore Award for best offensive line unit. In 2021 Alabama replaced three starting offensive linemen and their offensive line was massively up and down all year. 2020 Alabama OL: 14th in average line yards, 7th in sack rate 2021 Alabama OL: 46th in average line yards, 67th in sack rate (average line yards is a metric that gives the OL credit for rush yards between 0-3 yards and 50 percent credit for 4-8 yard runs) I don't know how the talent they replaced compares to the talent that played this year, but it's fucking Alabama so I'm guessing it's pretty good.
  15. Apparently Rovell is taking a break from Twitter because he's having surgery. I'm guessing he's having a dick removed from his throat. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
  16. "I think the first group of coaches that were there he didn’t really like" Fuck Tom Herman and them forever
  17. I don't disagree, but I also think the chances of them coming to Texas even with the NIL would be pretty low if Herb Hand was still the OL coach. I think having a good OL coach, plus the option to peace out into the portal if it isn't working out, just makes it a much easier decision.
  18. I think playing for Kyle Flood instead of Herb Hand matters a little bit. The money is more important, but having a competent o-line coach helps.
  19. Mercedes is going to litigate the shit out of this. It isn't going to lead to anything, but it's going to happen.
  20. What a farce. I can't believe a bureaucrat would just make up an arbitrary decision on a whim to decide a championship. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to watch college football.
