Shut the fuck up you moron. You are seriously raging for a dozen posts because apparently you don't believe that Oklahoma and Texas A&M committed teenagers would talk trash about Texas. You have a history of terribly idiotic takes but this one may be your fucking magnum opus. And calling it an "aggy" thing to say is a pussy bailout move that has nothing to do with reality. This is the same group of posters who reveled in the fact that a recruit group text back in the day shit talked A&M constantly which led to Charlie Strong's best class. It's not "aggy" to realize that other schools and their recruits do the same damn thing ours do when given the chance, that's actually the exact fucking opposite of "aggy" thinking. So, again. Shut. The. Fuck. Up.20 points

To be fair, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if a UGA big money donor knew about a commitment prior to anyone else, including the UGA staff.18 points

Who needs the best RB to come out of Texas since Peterson? Give me Kyle Porter and Daniel Young and I'll see you at the Alamo bowl.17 points

Used up the dozen hatch chilies over the weekend making a huge batch of green chili stew. Best part is leftovers. Made huevos gringos this AM: Strained out the rest of the pork/potatoes and repurposed the sauce and a rotisserie chicken to make green chili chicken enchiladas tonight.12 points

The problem is that the X's and O's here are very relevant. Texas' defense doesn't line up and hit you. Only a couple of defenders have single roles. The DT will rarely drop into pass coverage. His role is to gum up the center point of attack. Everyone else, though, might do one of several things at any given moment. The calling card of a dominant Big 12 defense isn't size. It's speed. Texas, on defense, might have 10 guys crowding the LOS at any point pre-snap. After the snap, who knows where they'll be? A DE, LB, and S may have stood near a single gap. One, two, three, or zero players might attack that gap at the snap. The others may have strafed the line, covered other gaps, or dropped. Since every other gap is going to have the same questions, the OL has to figure it out in real-time. With a "run first" mentality, the offense frequently encounters unusual skill set defenders in unexpected places. It is inadvisable to pass in freelance mode against this defense. There's always someone who can sprint across the entire field faster than your pass can find the ground. Texas will attack the experienced LSU defense by spreading them out. Even with its emphasis on the run, the Texas offense is designed to create and exploit mismatches. UGA killed themselves by lining up and staying put. When that happens, every offensive player will recognize an audible and hot read. You'll see small shifts in the location of TEs (call them H-backs if you'd like), RBs and WRs to realign into stacks or inline power. If the defense doesn't counter, then the schematic advantage is with the offense. That's the theory. Texas is replacing nominal 8 starters. That sounds a lot worse than it is. "Starter" in this defense is an archaic term. Think of the Texas defense as one or two strong fat guys and a whole bunch of guys between 240 and 200 lbs. They're all just speedy, strong athletes who attack a space. When everyone's on the same page, that speed, strength, and range means Texas can supply primary and supporting players everywhere on the field simultaneously. However, if one or two don't get the rotation right, big gaps emerge. Texas hasn't had a world-class OL in a decade. With all the hoopla surrounding Sam last season, he was still papering over some less than ideal OL play. This season's OL has a chance to be dominant, however the only proof is when they're beaten on by an angry opponent. If they're the real deal, then Texas will be able to show off its high powered weaponry by mixing gigantic receivers with speedy slots and RBs. If they're still a "work in progress", then Texas will once again be limited to a close ground game with occasional timed passes in an attempt to drive back a pressing defense. Nothing is a foregone conclusion yet, offseason be cursed!10 points

Tonight is trash night and the wife is with her friends, which means leftover nachos. Now what you have here are the last of the tortilla chips, the last of the Doritos, and a few Fritos to fill the pan, then we had 4 bags of shredded cheese that were almost empty, so they all went in, a little left over sausage, and some tomatillo sauce for good measure. Delicious. I will say though the Parmesan added a new twist, but I would do it again.9 points

About 20 years ago, we bought a new coffee maker that was fancier than our existing one, but the one we were replacing still worked well enough. So I decided to give the older one a viking funeral by using it to see what would happen if I brewed coffee with unconventional ingredients - Mt. Dew, Budweiser, and Jim Beam, in that order. The Mt. Dewfee was thick, tarry, and acrid. It did not taste good, and it bore no promise worth further investigation. The Budwoffee was very, very bad. It smelled like fertilizer or a chemical fire, and tasted about the same. Really offensive. The Jim Boffee, however, took things to another level. It didn't exactly percolate, so much as smolder and off-gas. However much bourbon I started with (half a pot?) burned off and evaporated, eventually yielding about a half a finger of dense, mastic-like meconium. It was the most profane thing I've ever tasted. Our apartment filled with noxious fumes, so we opened up the doors and windows. In doing so, we discovered that our neighbors had already been reacting to the smell (we lived in four lofts about a business, and apparently had some common ducts or HVAC or whatever) and were on the verge of calling the city to report the problem. Mrs. Doom and I convinced them not to, but did not take responsibility for the odor until a month or two later once we could all laugh about it. So I'll pass on the PBRoffee, thanks.8 points

That is not what ambivalence is, and that’s not the way you, or anyone else, feels about Evans. Evans is true ambivalence for us. If we got him, we’d all get super pumped and find ways to rationalize the shit we don’t like. If he goes somewhere else, we’ll all say fuck it and we’re glad we didn’t have him. Either way, there’s no indifference and therefore we’re really ambivalent. Lindberg is a case of general indifference. I think you are going overboard. Lindberg can play OT at a lot of schools and that isn’t dismissible. I was the first, or one of the first, to start negging Lindberg on this board in the spring. I stand by my reasons - he’s already too fucking big; he’s not nasty; he’s not crazy athletic; he got his ass whipped at camps and then pulled himself; and he may not really be a tackle for Texas. Those are issues, but he’s still a high level talent that we’d figure out a place for and be happy to have. But really, tides turn and momentum is heading away from the Lindberg/UT relationship and I don’t think the Lindbergs fully get that yet. Gotta move quick. What the fuck kind of reverse fatkid shit is this? Texas had this worked out by targeting Robinson early and staying on him. They failed to close because they weren’t prepared for the king kong-sized dump the program was going have taken on it by recruits and influencers at the Rivals event. They didn’t have a strong contingency there and it murdered momentum, no more severely than with Robinson, who went from a lean to not returning calls. Some of the fix for that is literally happening in real time for us on the 2021 and 2022 fronts with the staff. I’ll give it to Herman. He may not be able to protect himself from his own illusions and his yes men don’t help, but when outside forces rip his fucking face off, he’s capable of figuring things out.7 points

JFC that was some of the dumbest bullshit I’ve ever read on surly or shaggy, which is really saying something. Spidery2banana is just vomiting all over this thread today. I must say to his credit, no one else combines abject stupidity with 0 acumen to evaluate prospects quite like him. It would be great if we could get blacklab or someone to just perma bam him from the recruiting board, but I guess I’lll just have to settle for ignore.6 points

The Fox News/Trump crowd has the loyalty of a goldfish. These are the same people that would eviscerate you as a libtard un-american hippie 20 years ago if you said something bad about W Bush. Same 12 years ago if you said something about Mccain. Same 8 years ago if you said something about Romney. Same 2 years ago if you said something about Paul Ryan. Venture over to the braintrust at Texags and float a trial balloon on either Bush, McCain, Romney, Paul Ryan, etc... They loathe all them now, swamp rinos. Trump is the one and only, cross him and you are cast off the island. Fast forward to the next Democrat President and watch the "republicans" start to care about the debt/deficit again. Start to care about executive power again. Start to care about Presidential golf trips again. Start to care about obeying subpoenas and the "rule of law" again. Start to care about sounding "presidential" again. They will dump Trump in the waste bin of history faster than you can say grab her by the pussy. It's a fickle crowd led around by their necks by the ghost of roger ailes. They're passionate about everything, yet believe in nothing. It's quite something to behold.6 points

I don’t even know how to respond to this fucking aggy fake news bullshit. Whatever dude. IT and TFB brainiacs have all referenced the Rivals camp hurting our momentum. And that’s outside what I’ve heard from other folks with connections. It’s also where Broughton went hard towards aTm until his mom set his ass straight. But yeah, I’m sure your head planted firmly in an ostrich hole is probably correct.5 points

Wait. So the first chart shows that UT recruited at an elite level coming off of a Fiesta Bowl win, a National Championship appearance, and a decade as one of the dominant programs in the country. And the second chart shows UT recruiting got worse during quite possibly the worst run in school history? Truly shocking data. It should also be noted that UT's shitty era still outrecruited A&M, which had one of its best decades in school history.5 points

Because it's logical. Your brain remembers there's a logical process for figuring out the difference, so it makes sense and is kinda novel. Phone numbers on the other hand are boring and have no logic to them (unless the number is similar to yours, or has an interesting series of numbers). I have to look in my contacts for your mom's number too.5 points

LSU is coached by a mumbling regard, and their offense is one dimensional. I expect Herman and the team to beat the shit out of them. Their defense is good, but UCF almost beat them with a backup QB. Sam will curb stomp their pussies.5 points

My daughter voluntarily ruled out A&M. I was talking about the better schools in Texas, and after I mentioned UT, Rice, and Trinity I said "Texas A&M" and her response was "hell no, I'd rather just get a job than go there with those freaks". I tell you, I'm not sure I've ever been so proud. Apparently I raised her right. For now, her top schools (for an odd combination of reasons) are UT, Northwestern, and Oregon. Yes, Oregon. Northwestern is probably a long shot. She's not quite gonna make auto-admit to UT so we're trying to figure out some other schools, which could include UTSA, UT-Dallas, TCU, Minnesota, Tulane, UGA, UK, and a few others.4 points

ex-girlfriend had a wire haired terrier and he was totally untrained and a complete asshole. a really funny and interesting dog, but he ran the house. I don't look at Nextdoor because it's a pit of stupidity, but I got a notification last night for a post from someone fostering an old boxer puppy with a leg problem, who needed a bigger bed. Kevin won't mind losing his spare bed, look at this poor little girl4 points
