Just watched Texas vs Houston 1990. Key take away Belt to Ass.

We have had been on the wrong side of big games at home and when Houston was rolling that year and we were also good at the same time, it was finally an opportunity for us to go Supernova. You feel it watching the game back.

Uga last year should had been that but we got off to such a bad start.

Here is my list of movers this coaching carosuel...

Jason Candle, Toledo - He has topped out in Toledo and has proven to be able to build a sustainable program and develop NFL talent.

Eric Morris, UNT - Offensive-driven Air Raid coach with a heavy dose of run. An added benefit would be that he could bring his own super-talented FR QB and RB combo with him.

Jon Sumrall, Tulane - Been rumored to be tied to a variety of jobs already..

Jason Eck, New Mexico - Has UNM bowl eligible and is know as a OL guy that is probably a real option for many of the potential mid level Midwest jobs

The anointing of Sumerall just feels full of SEC SEC SEC fluff. It's like the southern coaches fraternity really likes him and it gets immense helium and he becomes the flavor of the month. I'm not convinced he's not gonna be the next fired coach at the next school.

Of all the successful coaches in the SEC, only Kirby is a real southerner. I don't know,  Sumerall feels forced.

As a Albuquerque native,  I like Eck. If he took the Wisconsin job he could be better than Fickell but that won't be too hard.

Someone should absolutely give that guy a look, seven undefeated seasons, ten 1 loss seasons.  He’s only lost more than 4 games once in 37 years, his very first season where he went 4-5.   I would say the guy can coach.

Not in the good ol boy club where everyone knows everyone.  Guys like that do break thru like Leipold and Deboer because coaching travels but AD's are scared to death that it would be too big for them and every blue blood fan base would melt if they hired a JC coach.

Helton's wife is from Houston, so there are ties other than USC.  Her sister is an Aggie.

Mullen is in play for a Head Coaching job once all the dust settles on UF, ARK and PSU.  He'll land where one of the current coaches gets gobbled up.  Maybe Auburn if they let Freeze go.  Mullen is an excellent coach who got screwed by the Gators.

What about his brother? More dynamic historically but I can't comment on their run game or physicality.

I never intended to practice law for an occupation but in 1981 I was faced with a decision: go to law school or dig ditches for a living.  I said to my dear bride, Mrs. Llama, “But there’s a lawyer on every street corner and we’ve never known a good one.”
She said, “Law school is three years.  Med school is six years, and a lot longer before you’re earning any significant money.  Tell me, big guy, if you don’t ho to law school, where will we be three years from now?”

I went.  I discovered that if I pronounced my clients’ names correctly, showed up on time for appointments, and was honest, I would never hurt for clients

I don’t think of myself as a lawyer but I do practice law as an occupation. I’ve never scammed anyone but I have bern scammed by vendors of equipment, supplies, and phone/internet/email services.

Also, with the advent of YouTube, there are videos out there for a majority of the basic-to-intermediate repairs which are the high margin (read: easy) work that service technicians used for a good portfolio mix with the harder, more complex, lower margin work.

I just saw this firsthand had to replace a basic part/appliance which felt very basic and straightforward, got quotes which were all very high for 30 minutes worth of work if you do it all day. Granted it took me 90 minutes while watching two Youtube videos and taking a couple of breaks to watch college football since I basically did the work during commercials.

  7. My list in no order:

Fran Brown- probably option 5 but could be a home run as he would be a recruiting witch. Knows the AD.

Hartline - wants to be a head coach. Doubt he wants anything less than a Penn St level job.

Elko - checks off a lot of boxes. Recruiting,  connections to the region,  turn a program around quickly,  offense is important to him. Sure he has all the money in the world at his disposal and he's in the mighty SEC. Why on earth would he leave that sleeping giant? No coach has ever left college station for another job in any sport there... ever.

Matt Rhule - feels like a 4th best option at this point. Hasn't beaten a ranked team since 2016? Connections are all he has.

Matt Campbell - fan base might revolt if he's the guy. It won't drop the floor and the ceiling will probably stay the same. Might win a big game but could lose the occasional game to MSU or Purdue.

If Satterfield is in serious consideration, they are in a bad spot.

Drink might a few options. Not impressed by him though. He's fine but I don't believe he's gonna take Penn st to a championship.

Freeman? Haha nice try.  Could it happen? Sure.  Would it? No.

I'll throw out Jedd. He's not one to stay in a place long and if he misses out on Florida,  he might convince PSU to give him a run.

Schumann could get a look as a Kirby protege a la Lanning.

If Brent Key is willing to leave his alma mater, then he could be the better coach than most on this list.

Dude has 14 ranked wins in 3+ seasons so far

And I think his signature win is either #4 Clemson in year 1 or #2 Georgia last year.  #4 Penn State was just bigger because it was the semifinals, but he got a top 5 win in year 1 against a CFP dominant Clemson squad and took out a 2-time winner in Georgia in the playoffs last year.

Not sure you can call beating James Franklin a "signature win" because he's such a choker against top 10 teams

Announcing you are going after a coach is the best way to not get him. Freeman then has all the leverage and ND is ready to address it.

He's playing at a position that's loaded. I'd also like to see more of Lance Jackson, but who gets fewer plays? Too bad he can't play OL.

Burke. Maybe he's gap sound or something to keep him on the field but Jackson and Spence can fuck shit up when playing.
