This entire post is built on the assumption, and assumption for which there is no evidence for, and plenty of evidence to the contrary, that Texas will be incapable of winning big recruitments down the road that are the ones they deem as must wins.
We were losing to LSU for Collin Simmons till we weren’t, we lost Anthony Hill to A&M until we didn’t, we lost Sharma to Oregon until we didn’t, and Banks, and Cam Williams. Ryan Wingo was staying home. Kade Phillips was going to LSU because we blew it by telling him he was a safety. Was Justus Terry even considering us until we decided shit, we might need DTs? Georgia and Oregon didn’t seem to be able to do shit about it once we did decide it was a need. When did all these flips or commits come? Hmm, I bet it wasn’t June.
In summation, you have terrible fucking takes and you might be the only person on earth who resents getting his dick sucked.
My favorite satya melt was over Grant Polley.

I'm going to Vancouver this weekend. @bizzle did they ever get the internet up there?

Why try to get Dia Bell or Arch Manning when you can get the actual star that nobody knows about. 4D.

I have never seen insanity like I did in Fishes. Always expected the uplifting cheerful conclusion but it just went more crazy. Talk about subverting your expectations.
Shame on me not even noticing it was JLC til the end with the face to face with Carmy.

I'll preface it by saying I lived there for a minute but spent a lot of time there otherwise.

One of my closest friends has been grinding in Hollywood for about 25 years now. He's been in a lot of good and bad movies. Top of my head, he was a SEAL that was blown up in the helicopter in Lone Survivor. And recently got his ass kicked by Jessica Alba in some crappy movie. I can't watch any of his movies and take it seriously because I know his mannerisms and speech patterns so when he's acting it completely feels fake. He might be a decent actor but I can't separate the friend from the character.

Just watched Lamar Brown film. Holy hell, what a monster. He would be our best interior defensive line prospect since who? Looks better than Justus Terry to me. Maybe Malcolm Brown?
How would LSU handle losing another massive local 5* (Stewart) two years in a row? They have to be pillaging hospital and infrastructure accounts to get the money together right?

The usual Surly routine is wondering how they get to a winning record, so they disappoint in that regard as well.
Here's an unprejudiced question: what indicates Elko is a better coach than in the past? Was there a game last year when he distinguished himself as a head coach? Their close loss to Notre Dame is, I suppose, the best place to look. He had a good season for Duke, but, so far, I don't see anything special about Elko apart from his snappy on-the-field wardrobe.
To me, at best, he's unproven. Their collapse at the end of last season was nightmarish (for them). Where are the good signs? It's quite possible that I've missed them as I'm nothing of a football savant.
His best 'coaching ' was Brian Kelly and Drink not preparing for the correct quarterbacks.

Pate is now in the world of being too close to things where objectively and critical thinking becomes blurred due to the unfiltered propaganda spewed directly at him. He's good on big picture stuff generally but team to team he's not keeping enough distance between himself and the looch's of the industry to be sensible. Now he just spews information that he gets as fact. Like Jackson Arnold is going to be good because two people told him.

My FIL served in the British military for a decade. He then went on to work for a UK conglomerate working in "development" behind the Iron Curtain, in the USSR, the Middle East, Iran and the Far East for various stretches of time. He tells random stories of the same ilk as you do, although often really absurd or disturbing. He does it in the same matter of fact manner.
"I was bringing across £50,000 through Ashgabat once via a hidden floor in the soles of my shoes for a mate once ..." or "our friend in Dubai, Ramy, kept buying canaries at the pet shop after he first brought his family over. it took awhile to figure out what was going on ..." or "the bloody problem with Russians is that life is not valued by them. I've run into more sociopaths in my dealings with those dirty bastards than anywhere else in the world outside of Kowloon ..."
Now, I'm fairly certain that he actually was part of the British intelligence world. I sometimes wonder if you're not our Surly version of that.
Did he go down to the Falklands in the 80s? My uncle was a captain in the British army and I would pen pal him when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade for class.

Just outside of your scope - 1999 we hosted Stanford for an 11am that was the hottest I have ever felt at DKR. Fukcin' miserable.
Was it Pitt or Uva in 95 or 96 that we were being hospitalized in the stands?

No inside info but them hiring the Southern Miss coach would be probably the best they will do.

Would Dillingham take a job where Nagy doesn’t work for him? I doubt it. They’re going to have to hire another assistant
I might be one of the bigger Dillingham supporters here. I won't say he will not ever leave his alma mater but if he does, it won't be because of money. He's one of those guys that's wired differently (like Chris Peterson). He isn't just an alum, he grew up here. Started coaching high school while in high school ( you can fact check that to be sure). Listening to him, there is genuine love for ASU and it's not just another job. That can all change with the support around him and if he ever feels ASU isn't trying to get better. But for the time being, he's likely to stay here despite bigger payday elsewhere. At least for now.

You guys missed the most ridiculous comment from 247 - “wiry tendon strength”.
You knew who had "wiry tendon strength"?
Vince. Saw it live (TV) when I thought he tore everything and then played a minute later.

I always enjoyed Michael Simon's restaurants. Maybe they are overrated but I haven't been let down. I think it's a chain but Melt is fine in a pinch and they have a good beer menu. And butcher and brewer has some great shrimp and grits.

Highly recommend The Rush Tribute Project if they come to your area. Maybe the best Tribute band you may see.
