I submitted $5000 in medical bills and $1500 in lost wages. They offered $7000. I countered with $17,000 and she said she couldn’t do that. I told them I’d weigh my options and get back to them. Essentially they are only offering $500 in “pain and suffering”. Seems extremely low to me. Any thoughts on how far they’d be willing to go up?

That is low and she can come up. What was your treatment?

Also, I guess I should toot my own horn. I qualified for Kona last weekend at IM Maryland. I didn’t have the race I was hoping for (which included puking, shitting and bad charlie horses in my hamstring the last 5 miles). There were 3 Kona slots for my AG and I was in 2nd with a 2 min lead over 3rd with 2 miles to go. The cramps cost me a lot of time and I ended up in 4th. I was gutted. But got lucky at awards and the guy that got 1st passed on his slot.

And here I am thinking a 1:30 half is something to be proud of. That is awesome. I am 3 weeks from being able to run again and then I am doing two half’s in the spring and a full in the fall. From there I might try an Ironman since one is in Chattanooga.

Sup, was just worried, had not seen ya around in a while. Probably posting in different threads than me, I guess.

I haven’t been on football board much since the switch to Surly. I can mostly be found in the dog thread and occasionally being unfunny in Lulz

I knew this year would be a shit show and I wouldn’t get upset over things. I did go to Auburn last weekend and had a damn blast. If he can get us to a bowl his first year he is a damn good coach. I know for a fact he inherited a worse situation than he thought he would in terms of S&C and the mental state of most of our players.

You guys played well and congratulations.

The FBI doesn't vote on Kavanaugh.  If her lawyers are willing to hand over the notes to the FBI why aren't they willing to hand them over to the people who are actually making the decision on Kavanaugh?  Because they point out contradictions in her testimony.  Plus how do we know the FBI had not already contacted her attorneys and told them we already have all the information we need from you.  It would easy then for the lawyers to state they would be willing to turn over the notes to the FBI knowing that the FBI aren't interested in them.  If there was something in the notes to strengthen her accusation they would have had no reluctance in giving them directly to the Senate.  Either the therapist notes weaken her case or she has the world's worst attorneys.  Those are the only explanations for their actions.

    Lol muuuuh notes!!!

Dumb take.  The British one starts slow (so does the NBC version), but once it takes off around episode 3 or 4 it's flawless.  The BBC version feels more true to life and has a depth lacking in the NBC version.  The NBC version went to shit after season 4 or whenever Pam and Jim got together.

And the reason you don't hear people quoting the BBC version is because you live in Texas and not Manchester.

Yep, I ended up liking the British version as much if not better in certain aspects.

I am new to thread but here goes

I ran my first half today with a time of 1:42 and finished 20th overall and 4th in my age group 35-39. Prior to race I ran one long day a week for 5 weeks with my longest run being 9 miles and that was last week. I did short runs and HIT training the other 4 days. When I trained I was able to run 7:22 miles consistenly so I felt good about today. I really wanted to finish in the 1:35 range even though I had no idea what to expect and had some nerves and I had to slow myself down today.

Everything was going good unti 9.5 miles and I just turned to fucking shit. It was like I was running in sand. Every half mile my phone is calling out my time and it is getting worse and I am mad. I almost quit at mile 11 and was on the verge of tears ( it is absurd I know). I somehow finish but the last hill almost made me quit and I finish with a 7:51 average. I had to collect myself at the finish line. I guess I should be happy considering I didn’t even sign up until 6 weeks ago after running a Ragnar Relay from Chattanooga Tn to Nashville Tn.  I have never been a runner but I played soccer in college and trying to stay in somewhat shape as I get older.

Last week and this week the outside of my right knee hurts after mile 9 and it hurts at the back of the knee the rest of the day so I am going to Dr to get checked out and hopefully referred to someone. I need to eat properly before a race next time as I think that played a major role. I had a bowl of oatmeal and 1 piece of toast this morning and oatmeal last night.

Forgot about this thread but time to bump. Turns out I had a tear in my meniscus and some cartilage damage. I had surgery on August 28th and luckily they were able to repair meniscus. The sucky part is I am on crutches for 2 more weeks. I will take it slow when I start running again but I plan on doing a half in March and May of next year and then maybe a full next October.

I’m in a similar situation. Filed with my insurance because there were 4 cars involved in the wreck and they felt they would get it resolved quicker. My car has been repaired, but I have 5K in medical bills that my PIP paid and about 1K in lost wages. I have an open claim with the at fault drivers insurance, but haven’t submitted by bills. Do I just submit them or do I need to include some kind of demand letter for “pain and suffering”?

I would submit and then call and ask what they are going to offer. You can always get them to go up from their first offer.  What company is it?
