So many threads to choose from... What's the Surly thoughts on when to get tested? No real symptoms but I've been in what has amounted to isolation since March 9th and then last week attended two days of gatherings with family/friends for visitation and a funeral. Thinking maybe I should just take the test but don't know how long after possible exposure I should wait or if it is even a good idea without symptoms.

I wouldn't, no reason to get a swab up your nose unless you feel sick ........just wait and  go get antibody tested

Smashed dick into rocks when the bumper dumper decided to break.   Luckily the dumping part had yet to commence and my giblets where somehow saved from injury but my pecker got smashed into the rocks and dirt.  That was on a Saturday. Come Monday morning I had my annual physical. When my doc got to the cough test portion of the exam he gave me the "WTF?" look when he saw my black and blue Johnson.  He commented that I must have had one helluva weekend.

your lucky it didn't turn into gangrene and fall off

Sigh.  I'm back to being discouraged as hell.

We're obviously not capable of stemming the tide of cases in the US.  We're just not.  It's beyond us.  We're either stupid, selfish, or a toxic cocktail of both, at a high enough level to ensure that plenty of folks are going to continue to get sick, increasing steadily.

The potential news that we may not get post-infection immunity is really fucking discouraging.  That it may also translate to a vaccine not working well is really discouraging.

The news as to the speed of a vaccine being mass-produced is likewise discouraging -- even if it cranks through, maybe only 2 billion doses by the middle of 2021?  That leaves 5 billion people still susceptible.

We're not getting back to anything near normal for not weeks or months, but maybe YEARS.  Physically, mentally, and economically, we're just at the BEGINNING of the suffering, with no end in reasonable sight.

I am going to get really drunk this weekend.

The uptick we saw last week was primarily the Memorial Day weekend bump. This week when it hockey sticks up even harder, THAT's the bulk of the impact from protests.

But yeah, I'd consider protesting against unchecked police brutality, murders, and racism to be far more essential than overpaying for miller/coors/bud lite and shitty well cocktails.

I can't keep up, are we social distancing this week or not? Because last week and the week before, it was totally fine if we weren't.

It depends....on whether your a protester or trying to save your business and make a living

If you got one as a kid, you don’t need another, right?  Or is this some sort of booster?

and let me understand this correctly- we developed the mmr vaccine in 1971 and inoculated children, but never bothered with adults?

    Never been there, sorry.

After three months working full days from home, Son & DIL just drove down to SPI yesterday afternoon. The beach was not crowded at all at dusk:
