I imagine that any many rural hospitals don’t have enough or maybe 0 ICU beds. Only option is to shift them to larger city hospitals which may not be able to absorb them soon.
Closest hospital is Dimmitt 11 miles... I know for sure 2 of the 6 started there before transfered to Amarillo

There is a "hot spot" up in the Panhandle .... Small Town Nazareth......there are 6 confirmed cases from there.....last I heard 3 on vents in Amarillo 1 in hospital (no vent yet) and 2 at home.....ages 16 thru 80's
It's in Castro Co which went on lock down yesterday.
Nazareth pop. Around 300.....% pretty damn high

Wish them the best. Keep us updated. Hope they’re tracing already if the others are old and susceptible like you hinted.

Why are judges issuing these decrees? Are these unincorporated areas? It's all coming from Mayors and Governors here...
(guessing) small communities outside of Georgetown would not issue the order and 1 larger town east of Round Rock probably wouldn't either

SECTION 6. Definitions and Exemptions. a. Individuals experiencing homelessness are exempt from this Order except that, to the extent individuals are using shared or outdoor spaces, they shall, to the greatest extent feasible, maintain social distancing of at least six feet from any other person, consistent with the Social Distancing Requirements, as defined in this Section, below. Individuals experiencing homelessness are strongly urged to obtain shelter.

While I am cool with liquor stores staying open I can personally attest that this is not true. When I was drinking it was a handle of vodka one day and a box of wine the next. No withdrawals on the wine days.
That said, most food deserts are not liquor deserts, and yes, the drunks do need their fix.
So do drug addicts, for that matter, and if the border shutdowns are effective a whole bunch of them are about to be crawling out of their skins.
everybody is different.....trust me dude there are alcoholics out there that have drank vodka long enough and hard enough....that beer and wine will not hold them

Keeping liquor stores open keeps a fair number of people out of the ERs due to acute withdrawal. It's a thing ERs do not need right now.
And out of ICU beds.....because acute alcohol W/D will take up ICU beds

Back on page 8 post 365....I made mention of the UIL boys State Basketball Tournament.
Well this shit has (maybe) has come home to roost.
From the smallest of Texas panhandle towns a person that I know is in ICU in Amarillo and on a ventilator.....and currently the only thing they can trace it to is 3/4 of the small town made the trip to San Antonio.....the particular person on the vent did not make the trip...but is employed at the school and of course is and was in constant contact with kids that did make the trip.....like I say very small Texas panhandle town....and very close nit all one church community.....It could get very bad....because what I am hearing there are several others being monitored and tested.

Taos and Red River..... hopefully last of August first of September

I'll see your "going to the gym" and raise you a "going to happy hour".
Apparently, there's a strip center near us that isn't technically in Leander or Georgetown, and there's a decent mom & pop restaurant/bar in there and some of the neighborhood wine moms thought it would be a good idea to go before someone in the county figures out how to make them close.
Name?
