So if you want to go work in NYC, and your bosses say no, you probably should STFU and stay home.
I know of a nurse in the St David's system that did the same....so far she still has her job....between the 3 weeks she was in NY and then the 14 day quarantine when she got back...well you can do the math at how long she was off from her "full time job". My guess is that they will be looking for a reason to let her go "soon"

Cactus, Texas, bitches.
Dare you to pull demographics on it...
I don't have to look it up....been through there many times....the socioeconomic situation there isn't the best. A tornado tore through there in 2007 and made short work of the barrio type structures in the town

See that potter county reported 112 new cases today. That would be the equivalent of Harris County reporting 4500 cases. Sounds like a serious issue in Amarillo.
Do your math with Moore Co.

For your AM livestock report, fresh beef prices slowed their rise but are still moving higher with focus on reports that fast food is trying to secure as much grinding meat as possible, fresh pork is just about to $100 with freezer stocks getting drawn down more by non-traditional buyers. Doesn't seem like a lot of movement on the plant front but I've got guys able to ship steers for the first time in a month to Dodge City so hopefully that's a good sign.

so they can pay hazard pay for workers who VOLUNTEER to come in and work at a place where the infection rate is apparently almost 25%, I guess that would be OK
I read where the JBS in Cactus Tx was going to start paying 4$ an hour extra for folks that would come on to work.......4$ is a lot of money

Moore County, population of about 20,000 went from 180 cases Friday to 250+.
Small town northern border of the county called Cactus, it has a meat packing plant and yes it has blown up with the corona.

Switch the leader, have the same outcome, and individual perception would likely be completely different.

I have been working this morning. Do you have the link to the interview? I am curious whether Lucy Tompkins was the one being interviewed. She is a family friend and would be one of the Stanford experts on this outbreak. Her husband who is now deceased was a world renowned microbiologist named Stanley Falkow.

Bottom line is that if you are over 50, do you want to roll the dice on your life or just wait this out until Jan-Mar when hopeful a vaccine arrives.
some of us (over 50) are "essential"......and have been "rolling the dice" from the start of this shit.
