  1. Sark just clarified the delay of game on Coburn on Rewind.  He said it was "abruptly moving too hard on the defensive line".  I watched the play again. Just before the ball is snapped Coburn and the player to his left rise up, move to their right one step and switch to the left hand on the ground.  The ref immediately throws a flag.  I have never seen this called at any level of football in my life.  I am guessing that was the players adjusting to the offensive line gap.

i wondered if he hit the ball when he shifted.  Otherwise, if they called the line shift call then it’s very wrong.

I believe Fowler said Coburn was called for the penalty.  Coburn calls out the line to move and the ref interpreted that as him trying to simulate a snap.

  3. I am old enough to remember the 1980 NLCS between the Phillies and Astros.  It was the best of 5 back then and Nolan took a 5 - 2 lead into the 8th inning of game 5 and things didn't work out.

  4. Texas- 63

    OU- 28

Worthy + Bijan- 300 combined yards.

One year, maybe 2005, I went out to the Cotton Bowl in hopes of getting a ticket.  Perhaps I was at the wrong gate but I was out there 90 minutes before kick and never saw a single ticket for sale.  I retreated back to my car to leave and find a place to go watch the game.  As I enter the parking isle and begin walking to my car I see two guys, late highschool or early college, wearing 0U jerseys going up and down the isle.  They are stopping at cars that have the flags that you place on the top of the window and roll up.  They take each one that is a Texas Longhorn flag and put them in a large pile in the middle of the isle.  Then one of the guys produces a container of charcoal lighter fluid.  He pours the fluid on the pile of flags and sets it on fire.  They take off as soon as the fire is good and lit.  After a few minutes a police car comes by followed by a firetruck.

  5. If I remember correctly there were rumors abound that Jimbo hosted quite a few recruits at his ranch during covid / dead period.  I believe that could lead to violations that would allow his termination without giving up the bags dropped on last years class.

Also, at what point do players begin "opting out" of the season?

I'm headed out to Vegas for a convention in January.  Looking for recommendations on places to stay since my usual, Wynn, is already booked up. Not much into gambling but more drinking, eating, and shows.  My wife will be along for the trip so she will want a nice spa.  And maybe a place that is on the monorail to the convention center would be a bonus.

For reference we have stayed at the Palazzo and Wynn previously.

I stayed at Crockfords at Resorts World last month.  It is just a ways down the street from Wynn.  They have plenty of places to eat and they do have shows.  I didn't visit the spa.  If you are heading to the convention center they have the Boring Tunnel which is an underground tunnel with Tesla's that drops you off at the convention center.

This is a really cool place as they have two other hotels besides Crockfords.  They also have a small sportsbook.
