Gillibrand didn’t go behind closed doors and ask Franken to resign.  No, she did it publicly to make herself the avenger for women everywhere and the democrats followed suit because at that point the narrative was set in stone.

The photo was inappropriate and in bad taste but FRANKEN was a COMEDIAN at the time.  He obviously had poor judgment in that moment in time but FFS there wasn’t anything malicious meant by it.  The photo was release was also obviously politically motivated with premeditation.

Also, in the photo, his hands are clearly several inches away from her, they are hoovering over her and you can see the shadows of his hands.  He is clearly trying doing a crude joke, but he is not assaulting her in that photo.

Pathetic and about what I expected

Just fucking with you.. relax.  There are 4 criteria listed  below.  She is credible.  whether you believe her or not is a different question.

    1.  Capable of knowing about subject that she is testifing about-  CHECK

    2.  Present during event-  CHECK

    3.  Qualified to be a reporter of the event-  CHECK

    4.  Honestly relates affair fully as she knows it-  CHECK

    credible witness

    n. a witness whose testimony is more than likely to be true based on his/her experience, knowledge, training and appearanceof honesty and forthrightness, as well as common human experience. This is subjective in that the trier of fact (judge or jury)may be influenced by the demeanor of the witness or other factors. (See: credibility

CREDIBLE WITNESS. A credible witness is one who is competent to give evidence, and is worthy of belief. 5 Mass. 219 17Pick. 134; 2 Curt. Ecc. R. 336. In deciding upon the credibility of a witness, it is always pertinent to consider whether he is capable of knowing the thing thoroughly about which he testifies. 2. Whether he was actually present at the transaction. 3.Whether he paid, sufficient attention to qualify himself to be a reporter of it; and 4. Whether he honestly relates the affair fully as he knows it, without any purpose or desire to deceive, or suppress or add to the truth.

I agree with all of this.  Whatever happened at that party, left a mark on her. She recalled the event decades later in counseling with her husband, so it apparently impacted her relationships with men on some level. Something happened. A few decades removed from a traumatic event can surely shape the recall in ways, but something happened. You dont have to corroborate teh assault imo, place Kavanaugh there and its more than enough to conclude outside of a court of law that he assaulted her.

    Wow.  That is insane.

Anastasis is a reasonable poster, so I’m going to assume someone put bath salts in his morning coffee. Drunk at a high school party and you’re a rapist, these are strange times. Last I heard she can’t even remember the year or location of the supposed assault, call me skeptical.

Anastasis is absolutely correct here.  How is that insane in any way?   This is not a criminal trial this is a lifetime  appointment for the SC.  The burden of proof is not anywhere near as high nor does it require a 12 person unanimous decision.  She is very credible.  He has denied being even at the party.  Another person says he was there and he is ABSOLUTELY not qualified to by appointed.

$10,500 for his kid’s school tuition is considered pricey. Have you seen what it costs to send your kid to Kinkaid or St John’s? That’s surprisingly affordable for DC

Yup. My kids went to one of those two schools and it was around 10k at the prek level, around 15k by middle school and in closibg in on 20k by high school.  Thats just tution.  There are the annual fund drives, uniform fees, book fairs, cafeteria fees,  trip fees, charity events, teacher gift drives, and various other hidden fees

He claims that he was never there at this party. He is not taking ownership like Beto, credit to him for doing so, because he is saying he is never there. Brisket is ready to believe his accuser even though as he well knows as a litigator that the allegation as it currently stands is completely flimsy. I’ve given my thoughts. I’m not ready to sandbag the guy based on what’s out there

Well i agree with you on that.  We will see.  BK denying being at the party at all is a bold move and we will see how it works for him.

The other person that was claimed to be in the room denies it ever happening. There is more corroboration it didn’t happen than it did. They’re having a hearing on Monday with Kavanauh and his accuser. I will reserve judgment until then.

Actually he did not say that.  He gave a nondenial denial something like “I don’t remember anything like that”.

BK is now denying being at the party at all.  There were others there.  This is gettin good.

Naah, just the once.  But it was an epic shoot down, no question.

I remember being 17,  on second base and frantically rounding for 3rd then suddenly getting the firm “No”.  Action stopped immediately.... it really isn’t that hard (pun intended).

Let’s say someone out of the woodwork claims you’re a bully to them while you were a freshman in high school when you really just teased them. How do you defend something that you may or may not have done decades ago and which you don’t have a pattern of committing such acts to corroborate. I can only imagine how helpless and frustrating that feels when you have a whole adult life that in no way reflects such accusation. I really feel for the guy.

I think I would handle it a lot like Beto Is handling his prior DWI.

Yea I did this.  It was a mistake and I am truely sorry for my actions.  I hope that the life I tried to live after my mistakes shows my sincerity.

I put in a few leaves of poison ivy.

typo:  I meant to type "I'd"  (obviously not serious).  Would not do that to a poor volunteer.  Seriously though, I would consider sending in some monopoly money with a note that says " send me a fake summons, and I'll send you fake money"
