Found Taquitos West to be legit. Al Pastor was good and the tripas we're cooked to perfection. Was eating too fast to take pictures, but thought about it afterwards. As you can see they have two locations

"VISIT ANY OF OUR TWO LOCATIONS!" could be shortened to say "Visit Either of Our Locations!" It would be shorter. And grammatically correct.

But then I'm paying them for Taquitos, not for grammar.

It will be called the bonfire edition.

Since they don’t have the rights to the awards and they have to make names for them, maybe the biggest collapse can be called “The Bonfire”.

  3. That was a F'in gullywasher in 78731 (near Far West). Sideways rain, minor road flooding, the whole nine yards. One of the Hydromet gauges near me say 2.6 inches, the other 1.3. My backyard gauge says 1.5 inches. So definitely a "bullseye". Rained out my kiddo's kickball game, and scared the crap outta my pre-K kiddo getting off the bus at about 3:30.

if Austin wasn't in Texas, i would have stayed put forever.

    This.

I used to do a thought experiment that was “if I won the lottery and didn’t have to work, where would I live?” And it used to be Austin (and using the executive airport over Bergstrom!)

Now it’s not anywhere in Texas.

But I still enjoy what we have here. Was out for my anniversary on Friday night at Underdog on South 1st. Food was great, wine was great, company was great (especially without our kids!), and the people watching was great. Then went downtown after for a night cap and went to a few places, did a little tourist-in-your-own-town type of thing. It was awesome.

I'm pretty sure TCAD isn't dead on accurate with appraisals.  My assessed value dropped 31% this year.  I can buy the idea that it was somewhat overvalued the previous 2 years, but that seems like a "correction" that isn't consistent with market conditions, nor is it consistent with my neighbors' valuations.

    It seems random at times.

I've seen your yard. And apparently, so has TCAD.

Tried to get by there a few weeks ago but my drunk ass mismanaged time.

Well it’s not open yet, so you really must have mismanaged time if you went by sober and it was. You got so drunk you went back in time.

I selected on Monday and pretty much the entire lower West side was red/selected.  We are already close to the 50 and under the shade of the upper deck so we're happy but had hoped to move up a few rows but no joy.  I had been toying with the idea of the Centennial Club because my wife has trouble with the heat but our donation level doesn't get us there because so few seats free up there each year.  LHF advised me to make a 1-time $25,000 donation to jump up to Date 1 selection to get a shot.  Yikes.

They advised me the same. I said no, but maybe I should have?

DA here is a joke, there was a band playing after the parade that is known to have a lot of nefarious followers and yet they were booked anyway.

What the fuck does a band being booked have to do with the DA?

I was able to get Brazos on Tuesday morning slot 10AM.  used to be able to get San Jac as my seats are on the northeast side but no longer.  Brazos garage seems OK for exit.  not sure if it is bigger or smaller than Trinity but you aren't involved in the clusterfuck  with Trinity/MLK and crowds crossing the street from the game to get to scholz garten/tailgates.

I wanted to try to upgrade to Terrace Club seats but none available.  anyone else get into Terrace Club that didn't have them last year?

I also wanted to get into any of the premium seating. Donated pretty aggressively (or so I thought) to get into a better timeslot (yesterday at 11:15 was where I ended up, so not great, Bob).

Long story short, every single premium seat was taken by my timeslot. I was able to move down to better seats in the lower deck, but disappointed to say the least.

Went ahead and chose my seats today during my assigned times slot.  Kept the same ones as last year.  What surprised me is how bad the parking selection was.  Anybody get anything better than Trinity garage that chose today (Wednesday)?  Kind of thought I had a shot at LBJ lots or San Jacinto garage.

If you pay me half of what the Foundation charges for parking, I'll let you in on a parking lot that is less expensive and closer than the Trinity Garage that you can pay to park on gamedays.
