I’ll take Biden and I’d say he’s got a good shot.

I’m not going to be too picky about the democrats.  Just please no Bernie, although I would vote for him over the Republican.

Hugo must work for the DNC

  2. Keep giving up on good ideas because because??? For those wanting numbers for education. Cross post from Fozzz in shit thread...

For some perspective, Bernie's free college plan is estimated to cost around $47 billion a year.

     http://college.usatoday.com/2017/04/17/heres-how-much-bernie-sanders-free-college-for-all-plan-would-cost/

Meanwhile, the tax cut passed this year is projected to cost around $1.5 trillion in future revenue losses.

Is Bernie totally clean on this Russia deal?

I’ll leave this here. Bernie has never backed Russia in any manner. My opinion is that Bernie would never knowingly work w anyone but the American people. I also believe Russia’s main objective was no Clinton. That in between will be made clear as Mueller wraps things up.

  4. Gd fucking damn you and many Trump supporters must have aced the Trump U course on misusing the English language. Perverse use of the English language is astonishing.

Strzok’s personal feeling/opinion equals Fuck Trump. He has complete contempt for Trump no argument. Strzok’s personal feeling/opinion is Trump supporters smell of dogshit. He has complete contempt for Trump supporters no argument.

To be OBJECTIVE is to put these feelings/opinions aside and do the job that was asked of him. So I will ask again since you didn’t answer the first time in all that babble. What task did Strzok not complete OBJECTIVELY? Did he make things up? Did he twist or alter facts while he was on the investigation? If so lay them out here. I’ll wait.

  5. I’m pretty good at that and doesn’t take long. Kicks the multitasking into high gear. Don’t get me started on having control of my own body and mind...

Too late. It’s what this world needs now. Calling plants mushrooms and other naturally produced psychedelics drugs is what’s criminal. Not the substances themselves. Even beginning to be backed up scientifically once scientists were given permission to do science shit. The control we are under is maddening. Another bowl is in order.

    Spot on.

The days of having a degree in "whatever" and expecting that to carry you were over 15 -20 years ago.

I was fortunate to use my liberal arts ed (Government) until I went to law school later on.  Wife got a business degree and ultimately ended up in the corporate world.

Both of us came from the "wrong side of the tracks" and our UT educations allowed us to completely flip our life stations.  Our kids were and are counseled into STEM or Business, the "liberal arts" get taught at home.

Bernie does not scare me, I've seen this play before.  The rhetoric of making all corporations and anyone associated with a corporation out to be monsters is a tired scare tactic.

Rhetorical promising everything to everyone without an actual plan is the same shit as Trump (maybe that's why some Bernie support went to Trump?).

I don’t think Bernie is making anyone associated w a corporation out to be a monster. He’s simply pointing out there must be a some sort of paradigm shift on a host of issues. We are doing it wrong. Just bc you can point to Marxism and laugh at its failure doesn’t mean we are necessarily doing anything right. More than likely it’s we have both been going about it all the wrong way. Trump is the epitome of capitalism. He is it. It’s hard to admit if your a staunch defender but it’s the truth. Is it pretty to look at? Not from where I’m standing.

I am by no means saying Bernie is going to save the world. I am saying he provides the best path. The easiest path. The least resistance to trying to right this ship. His ideas represent that paradigm shift that is so desperately needed right now. He has the crossover appeal to some Trump supporters at a time the majority of them feel threatened. He has a little wisdom and vision. Let’s give him a chance before you call it rhetorical promising or his ideas pie in the sky. He hasn’t even had the opportunity or support to try much of anything he has promoted throughout the years.

Weird how people hear this, then repeat this.  Although it's been sustainable for quite some time.

It’s been sustainable for 200 so years. A blink of an eye to the billions this earth has been here. In that time we have managed to turn a green and blue planet to concrete weeds and a plastic ocean. There is nothing sustainable about it. Maybe for you in your lifetime. Lucky you. You have things happening now like children creating robots to clean up the ocean. Why? Because the kid has to make his home here looks around and sees no adults trying to solve the problem. They bicker amongst themselves like... kids.

  7. And I hear you. Bernie isn’t coming for all your money or to make you poor like everyone else. Those who work will have more just as before. Bernie isn’t the boogeyman. The real ones are already in place laughing their ass off until we figure it out.

    User name checks out.

Oh it definitely does. I didn’t even make an effort tho. Between having too much fun during a NC run and recognizing the con I didn’t even really try. Didn’t want to play the game at the time. But I made out alright. Pretty much everyone I grew up with not so much.

I’ve seen this movie. At UT had a class on the economics of scarcity. Great class. Teacher was a rapid socialist but he was one of the best I ever had. We read Das Kapital and the rest. Same pitch different messenger.

Nothing Bernie says hasn’t been said by Marx and the rest of his ilk.

It’s not income inequality and the rest of the smoke and mirror leftist talking points. It’s the entitlements that are breaking the bank.

    Hard pass.

Einstein’s another good one. This isn’t going to become some sort of Soviet Russia government. What entitlements are breaking the bank?

Income inequality where those at the top have so much money and power which enables them to do things like lobby for their own special laws in government. Or where large corporations with billionaire owners who pay shit wages to those without education or means to get a better paying job. They’ll just get government assistance you pay for anyway. But yea tell the poor fuck who grew up in a shit environment with shit schools and shit leadership or parenting fuck you find another job paying you another buck an hour dumbass. Or go back to school put yourself in massive debt and we hope you find something. If not we’ll fuck you too. Bc not your problem right? Maybe you are taking crazy pills the ones where you value green paper over the lives of the next man. Destroy the environment so we can spit out more useless shit. Nevermind the generations that will follow you. It’s American capitalism. It’s what you know what you grew up with. It’s hard to shake.

  10. And the age thing... ageism the last frontier. I get it most of you old fucks don’t do much of anything all day and get tired walking your dog to the front yard to take a shit. Even at his age Bernie has shown more energy than the majority of politicians and I would wager more energy than those making these age comments. Definitely more than my lazy ass. But go ahead and say what the man can and cannot do because of his age. Good argument.

Tell me more about repealing Citizens United. Is that an executive order thing or does he say it three times into a mirror or what?

Perhaps. The mirror thing would be cool. Wouldn’t put it past Bernie to tell the population to march in front of the Supreme Court either. Point being it’s been his position from the start. Another important issue that would have changed this country for the better.

So we are going to tax the rich. Then when that isn't enough (because it won't be) they'll just move down to the middle class. No thanks.

I threw in defense spending as well but let’s skip over that. I’m sure there’s more before we get to the middle class.

He would have been right about Iraq.  That would have nice if he were President for a day in 2002.  Meanwhile, virtually everything he says about fiscal policy is either vague platitudes or outright unrealistic nonsense, such that his supporters have to say what Trump supporters say about Trump: “I don’t have any numbers in front me or know how it will work, but I trust the man!”

He would have been right dating back to the fucking Persian Gulf. When it comes to Bernie everyone acts like every politician has a fucking balance sheet presentation on every point they make as soon as they make it. What is unrealistic? Education? Healthcare?

And it amazes me how we gloss over important things like keeping the country out of war for 20 plus years. Or beating a dead horse over income inequality. The only one willing to stand up and say anything about such important topics that would have changed the course of this country long ago. Let’s dismiss that vision and leadership. It means absolutely nothing.

  13. 5 minutes ago, longhornmatt said:

Because electing a populist blowhard with superficial talking points and no realistic plans for addressing any of our problems is working so well for us currently.

Trump = Bernie is your argument? He has been a lifelong politician not some reality show host. I have a hard time believing he has no plan. He would have kept us out of war in the Middle East all these years. He has been trying to fight the growing income disparity in this country for 30 years. Some plans... the comparisons to Trump are so lazy.

My first question: where is the money going to come from?

Another favorite of his... we could start by working on the massive income inequality in this country. Taxes of course. Corporations and the rich is a good start. Cut defense spending. May or may not be a good start.

It’s funny that money is one of the main arguments against Bernie. I at least trust the man to do with government spending what he says he will do. Definitely not tax cuts for the rich. I obviously don’t have the exact numbers in front of me or how much it’ll all cost in the end but I will never be convinced it cannot be done. Especially if you’re giving up before you even try.

Yes to some of his ideas. No to others. No to Bernie. His had his shot.

The man has never had his shot. From being mocked throughout his political career to getting railroaded by the DNC in 2016. His real shot is 2020. No more games.

  15. Repeal citizens united. Educate our youth. Healthcare for the population. Make an effort to protect our environment. Proven track record of being right more often than your favorite politician at crucial moments in history.

Off the top of my head to get it out of that shit of a thread that is Trump.

So I’ll ask again what’s the problem? What am I missing? Educate me.

Capitalism actually has worked extraordinarily well so far.  I’d rather not have our largest economic assets be IKEA and ABBA.

Bc that’s what would obviously happen.

I really don't think you're interpreting my position well.  I wasn't impugning Bernie -- I think his governmental philosophy is a little too regulated.  That doesn't mean I don't think more regulation isn't a good thing.

How's this:  if you gave me a choice between Trump and Bernie, I'd take Bernie in a landslide.

Fair enough... my main point being nothing is too far for Americans.

  18. 6 minutes ago, jimmyjazz said:

I think that goes too far, at least for Americans.  Works for the nords just fine.

Lmfao it goes too far for Americans?? Right ok nevermind how too far Trump is or Bernie probably takes a good portion of his voters in a general election... a man with ethics and integrity toooo far... SMH

  19. The man cannot answer questions anywhere until the investigation is complete. Probably bc half of those so vehemently defending Russia and undermining every single one of our intelligence agencies will be indicted as well. It’s not complicated. It’s an ongoing investigation.

  20. So you got nothing how surprising. No sock. Been lurking since the time of hornfans and only started contributing to help ensure surlys survival w the abrupt change of scenery. But good pivot.
