It takes about 20 minutes, at least at my local. So best to go in with a plan. Also they have a limit and I think it's 2 dozen per person.

I didn’t ever think to ask them to shuck them for me… Argh…

Ho li phuk the hand wringing about getting the game. Either quit being poor or get one of your kids to dial it up for you.

Yttv and espn+ gets me all the shit.

I miss PSVue. Best sports package ever.

Yup on PSVue…. Only thing that sucks about YTTV is no Astros/Rockets…

90% of them are from Texas.

Real number is like 57% from Texas.  2 of mine are there studying supply chain and we have never had any issues while there even with Texas Ex stickers on cars… (but I did put a pig decal on the kids cars since they have Texas plates just in case…)

My read is that this isn't an industry-driven thing as much as it is a corporate-specific ting. IMO this has been a long time coming. There was a re-org last year that predated this and this was a corporate move to catch up to the other big integrated's on stock price, e/ps, valuations, margins, etc.

Shell is in the middle of something similar in E&P and I’ve heard that the same about BP…  (I’m guessing CVX buying Hess is part of their calculation on cutting bodies…)

The film was underwhelming except for Annie Potts. Would.

Never saw the flick but loved the book…

Spoiler- not really… E3 has dropped and I loved the post-brunch pool scene .  Oh, and the non-bolt-on tits of the ex… :)

That's us.  Son's in the biz school and ROTC @ Arkansas.  He sent me a text this very morning @ 430am of him getting ready to go on another 7-8 mile ruck.  It's working out well for him and he's changing.  Growing.  This is the same kid that got truancy letters in HS because the little shit would sleep in after being up all night playing video games.  He even opted out of rushing as all his HS friends did it and he didn't want this to be an extension of HS.

We'll be tailgating in section 52 (the white tents set up in advance, near the little creek across the main road in front of the stadium) with Matt Kendall (look him up, if your kid needs internship options, he's one to get to know).  It's an Arkansas tailgate, but everyone is cool.  My dad will be decked out in Texas gear but bought a red AR hat to support his g-son.

THE nicest guy you will ever meet

My boys said they won’t be able to see us before the game as they have to camp out for entrance Friday night/Sat morning to get in to see the game.  May swing by- I’ll have my orange shirt but hog-dad hat on with 3 moms (no pics) in tow…

he's been going to texas games since he was a child

I’ve got two of those up there as well… One was top 7% but wanted to go to business school so didn’t even apply to UT as chances were slim/none to get in but “No way I’m even applying to a&m as they are weird…” even though all wife’s family went there (wife was only one in her clan to go somewhere other than a&m). The other kid chose UArk over Tech as he thought Lubbock was a shit hole the cost is about the same with the OOS discount and could room with his twin brother.

We’re headed up for the game tomorrow to see both them for the game and weekend - I’m betting both wear UArk gear to the game as they don’t want to get killed in the student section and by chance, give dad crap if we shit the bed on Sat… And i’ll be wearing my burnt orange all weekend… if anyone knows of a good UT tailgate (since it looks like there won’t be a Surly one), let me know via PM…

When we toured there they said it was only 30% of student body involved in Greek life, which is about double UT but lower than some other schools we visited (like TCU).

If your kid wants to go Greek first semester (boys perspective) at UArk, then make sure they attend events during the summer rush events as many freshmen show up with “pre-bids” going into rush. A lot of the “slots” are already filled before rush starts at the “main” frats so a lot of boys who expect to get a bid just participating in the rush events don’t get one… And with all the Dallas kids there, the Houston and Austin kids are at a disadvantage since there is a pipeline already in place from the Dallas schools and most rush events are in Dallas…

    daughter actually (no pics). thanks.

I hated the idea of any of my kids going to pig but the tuition discount is very hard to ignore.

You learn to cope… With the 70% tuition, it works out to be slightly less than Tech…
