  1. I know, I know... Sorry... Spring lack of much football news boredom...
  2. Geographer... FYI - lots of GIS specialists in O&G mainly for well and facility plots that are submitted to governmental agencies and data used in interpretation software. I remember a story years ago of one of the super majors drilling multiple 30MM dry development wells in the North Sea because the pre-drill plats were using magnetic North instead of True North... (I think it was a 14deg. difference... doh!)
  3. So I have a few questions that I was hoping to get answered... I own a rental house that has roof damage but the contractor said it was hail and wind during a recent named storm. (It's a well known roofing company and not a storm chaser.) My deductible is 2% or which is about $9300 for wind and hail damage for named storms. I have the cash but have 200K in equity built up in the property. Is it better to go with a HELOC or a refurbishment loan with the current rates? ( I have an excellent credit rating so that shouldn't be an issue...) Separately, I was planning on a HELOC on my house for college payments as I'd like to take advantage o the equity I've got in my own house and not just pay cash. Questions - do I do the HELOC for my house first as it'll be a larger amount? Does a HELOC (or refurb loan) on the rental give me a credit hit that would make the HELOC on my house tougher? Where do you get HELOC's? Mortgage companies or via a different lender? And I assume that filing a claim on the roof for the rental will also increase the premium... (Filed a claim a few years ago for burst pipes during the big blackout/freeze...) PM me if one of you guys want to discuss offline...
  4. Great CGI of soil liquefaction!
  5. And where is this subway groping club? (Asking for a friend…)
  6. Tires and batteries always the cheapest at both compared to the tire "chains" but it's been a pain the past 2 years to just drop in to get a fix or rotation and need to book at least a week before... (Had to get the tires on kids cars at Sam's because no Costco in the town they go to university but I like that Costco uses nitrogen...)
  7. In case anyone looking for a link: go to the LHN links below the conference games: https://therealstreamhub.site/showthread.php?tid=1180
  8. Wife just texted that she can't get into FB. Not sure what she's going to do all day until it's back up... *(yea, I know there is a thread for this...)
  9. LaBoqueria- been there at least 10 times and it’s the best food market in the world in my opinion… Not for actual groceries but for the environment and to eat… (Markets in Singapore come in 2nd…)
  10. I'm in the dark here on the current T&C's of the lease. Not sure what are the current lease terms so would probably require either buying out the current operators or getting new leases on the deeper rights... The current operators bought the lease 2 years ago for existing production for just over a million but production was from wells that have been producing for year (~5K bbls last year). All previous production is shallow and these prospects are deeper. What he was asking me is what a "reasonable" %ORRI would be to ask for as the only question to him from the investor was "what are you want for the data and prospects" and no clue on what to say... (He was at a party and in the conversation mentioned he had cleaned out his dad's old office and found all the prospect info in a bunch of boxes and CD's when the "investor" asked...)
  11. Thought I'd ask here as someone asked me but I didn't know as that's a different side of the business than I'm in... Someone approached my buddy about some of the prospects that his old man (independent geologist but now gone) had put together years ago - he still has all the maps, logs, 3D seismic (and model) and the proposed exploration targets (deeper prospects of an existing field). Current operator is just stripping the existing reservoirs.) What sort of ORRI should he be asking for? I've Googled and seen the 1.5-3% range but I've has someone else say 5-7%... I figured someone here might know what he might expect/request when meeting with the potential investors... Plan was to just hand over all the info to the investors - with their own G&G team to review/revise existing prospects - for ORRI and some sort of "transfer" fee or signing bonus. (And maybe the possibility buying in WI in the future if the first few wells are successful...) I didn't know what to tell him a "reasonable" request for % or $ was these days before he walks into the discussions... Anyone?
  12. Anyone got a LHN stream? (Only thing I really hate about YTTV...)
  13. Great band to have seen live a few times... Damn, I'm old...
  14. Kodi or Stremio (with a dibrid account) work great (with a vpn, of course) as alternative to all the subscription services. I do have YTTV for the DVR and “live” events.
  15. Got a kid that just turned 18 and wanted to get him a Chase card tied to my account to start building him credit. Anyone know if you can get a miles bonus for referring a family member for a card?
  16. Called today and got 12 months for 4.99 with no effort. Probably because I had been paying the full rate for 2 months since I forgot to renegotiate when my previous deal expired 3 months ago.
  17. That’s a pretty high bar to set… (Or a low one depending on how you are looking at it…)
  18. Got a notice that Lake Conroe is about full and they are dumping water downstream…
  19. “Get this G-D thing off my head” meme/gif…
  20. Thanks! I was thinking 250-300 off the top of my head so I'll shoot for more...
  21. That my my thinking... My cover is foil lined and insulated so a small heat source in there should trap the heat in there and be good overnight... Not warm enough to cook the PVC but good enough to keep the brass above freezing. (I drained the valves but the previous brass one cracked last freeze despite being wrapped and drained...)
  22. So what can I sell a slightly used 22" WSF for these days? With cover, upgraded thermometer, upgraded diffuser and door seal... Won a XL BGE at a raffle and later bought a Traeger right after got the WSM and it's just sitting in my garage...
