  1. There is no magic.  My program last year was simple- burn more calories than I consume.  That starts with some basic food and lifestyle changes.  The biggest is portion control.  I have always been someone who will eat whatever is in front of me, and all of it.  I think it stems from being one of 5 kids and if you didn't eat fast and a lot, it was gone.  But you'd be surprised how you just don't need to eat the massive amounts you probably do, and I don't mean that disparagingly.  Portion sizes in this country have gotten ridiculous, and we have re-programmed ourselves as to what a full me amounts to.  It is WAY more than what was normal 20-30 years ago.  So start there.  And you can make tasty food without much sacrifice.  Choose the the lower fat/calorie salad dressings, mayos, cheeses, etc.  Eat a single protein- chicken breast, fish, and red meat is fine in smaller portions.  A couple of things I did to help aid my portion control is as soon as I felt I had an adequate amount, I immediately threw out what was ever left on my plate.  If I set it on the counter, I would invariably go back and pick at it.  Also I would go brush my teeth shortly after my meal.  Something about doing that puts a stop to wanting more.  And as state above, get moving.  But don't adopt some military-style boot-camp workout.  YOu won't maintain it.  Just adopt a workout that burns calories, even if it is just walking, and stick to it.  Anyway, this approach worked for me.  And I LOVE food.

This is fantastic advice in regards to portion control. I’ve struggled with it lately but a few years ago, I basically cut everything in half and dropped a ton of weight.
  2. you are forgetting there are 4 gimmies.  no reason they couldn't win 4 or 5 games if they are in the east. 8 to 9 for the last 2 teams is reasonable.

Those were good teams but playing in the AAC is a lot different than playing in SEC.
  3. Binged on Narcos over the holiday break. I’ll be done by tomorrow.
Should I go Narcos Mexico next or Inside the real narcos?
Also, what Chapo flick is the one to watch?
    Thanks!

I’m working on Narcos as well. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to watch it.
  4. If I don’t give a rats about epl or soccer I’m general, would it still be s good thing to watch about fandom?  Don’t hate soccer, just probably wouldn’t understand much if they talk strategy or players or rivalries.

I think you would still enjoy it. They don’t break out into the strategy, at least through one episode.
  5. I binged Sunderland 'Til I Die over the past two days and really liked it. Most sports documentary series are on championship caliber teams or at least teams that are good. I've never seen one featuring a team during its worst season ever and found it thoroughly and utterly fascinating. I came out of it hoping Sunderland makes it back to the EPL at some point. Really good watch.

Through one episode and I’m intrigued by it. But as a Newcastle fan, let me just say fuck Sunderland.

  6. For all the Trumpkins on here, I have a suggested New Year's Resolution -- from here on out, you resolve to not vote for incompetent, immoral, corrupt, fat failed businessmen.

If they make that resolution, it will be like all other New Year’s Resolutions and last a couple weeks and then they’ll be back to their old selfs.
