two elimination games tonight, both on the road for the team with the lead in the series. gonna be interesting to see how this plays out. either we'll have 3/4 of the conference finals settled or EDM is gonna get a little extra rest

Edmonton is on a heater. After looking like they had the worst goaltender on the planet the first 2 games, they go to Pickard who wins 6 in a row, then he gets hurt, then Skinner who somehow posts back to back shutouts. Winning 8 of 9 in the playoffs really impressive. Will be a tough matchup for Stars if we can close this out.
I wanted this series extended but F Vegas. Glad they lost. They are right there with the Avs for my most disliked team. I didn't watch after the 2nd last night but Vegas certainly look older and slower. Was surprised how little juice they had in a home elimination game from what I watched. It was a contrast to game 1 where they still were flying up and down the ice.
I think they're a lot like the Stars were the last few seasons. Great regular season and then just didn't have the juice to get it done. And that's different than talent. I think the Stars' recent playoff exits had more to do with nothing left in the tank than it did talent. That was my observation of VGK last night as well

Why should anyone care about this?
Because it's necessary to keep the both sides narrative alive. Out of this world levels of cope

Did you intend to leave off 20 year old bischel?
Not intentionally. The site is was referencing for contract terms didn't list him. I'm guessing bc he has a two way contract. That's up in 2 years, if what i read is correct

who you got tonight? will VGK extend the series? who breaks the tie in Toronto tonight?
I think Vegas hangs on and I think FLA start putting some fear in Toronto

This is just cope and demonstrably untrue. She was fairly popular among Democrats until the Assad/Russia shit came up during the 2020 presidential campaigns and Hillary started going after her hard. Even after that she was pretty heavily defended by mainstream media and a lot of mainstream Democrats. Shit started going downhill for her and it culminated in her not being invited to the 2020 DNC which I'm sure is what started her off on the path to leaving the party.
no, what he said is true. no liberal gave a shit about her at any point. democrats and others have proven time and time again they are not liberals

I know we weren't the #1 PK on paper due to the last 8 games or so, but you can't tell me this isn't best or at least top three season
-
penalties called were even for the game at three aside, with one of ours being a double minor. The difference in the game is the two we scored on the pp. inversely, why we didn't lose was being 100% on the pk. we have hovered just above 30% on the PP in the playoffs so far and held COL to a bit under 14% and so far have held WPG to a hair over 6% 😶 we have held our opponent to zero conversions in 7/11 games so far - 3/4 in the WPG series alone
-
I was curious, so here is our current roster of players under 30, and how many years until they become a UFA. Fuckin-A
Hintz (6)
Robertson (3)
Rantanen (8)
Marchment (2)
Steel (3)
Bourque (2)
Johnston (5)
Back (3)
Heiskanen (4)
Harley (7)
Lundkvist (2)
Oettinger (8)-

With so many Texans being one or two generations removed from being oil field/refinery trash it amazes me how anti-union the state is
I've never understood why anyone on the employee side would ever be against a union. completely understand why employers would

where there is a will there is a way
i think back to going out to sharks and avs teams i felt like we outplayed but all they did was find a way to win
it feels jinxy to say we are just finding a way
it would be nice if the seguin and benn would stop faafoing and miro gets going
not jinxy, it's the way we've played all season

I'm giving Jamie Benn a pass here. He's old and slow. He's in the last year of his contract, and he's primarily along for the ride. If he can throw some hits and give you some tempo to give a spark, that's really all we need from him. And Seguin still has some jump. He scored a couple against the Avalanche. As a third-liner, I think I'm fine with what he's bringing.
But we need some contribution from Duchene and Marchment. Really anything.
Jamie could take a few less penalties and be doing 100% of what he needs to be doing. We don't rely on him for scoring anymore. We rely on him to set the tone and keep is lineups honest and the other side in check. Anything beyond that is gravy
1 hour ago, Pato del Muerto said:Our goal scoring isn’t top line or top 2 line reliant, we win by having all lines being productive. They won’t all be scoring at the same time, and we are not rolling four distinct lines in the playoffs, but not having any one player or line being quiet isn’t killer.
exactly. it's not alarming that Robo or Duchene or Mush haven't "gotten going." That was by far Robo's best game since returning from injury and he had a point to show for it. Mush and Duchy looked better last night and the latter also got an assist. I think the fact that we've now returned two starters and this is the first time playing with our full lineup there's gonna be a few continuity issues, but luckily others are stepping up in the meantime. that's gonna pay dividends the further we go. we've outscored the Jets 11-5 in our three win (3.67-1.67avg). I like our chances to win one of the next three.

If I ate one of those mass produced extruded cheese balls every time these guys (it's almost always the 'red-pilled *guns-eagle-freedom-Jesus-mansplaining' males that do this) tossed around the word "Marx" or "marxist," I would be as orange as the current leader of our country.
It's such a tell, and I highly doubt they could truly connect the dots between economic and government (political) systems and the differences, histories, and nuances of each. But damn, they sure do know how to projectile vomit the talking points.
*unashamedly stolen from @Brisketexan
I stop people who throw shit like that around and ask them to explain what they mean. What do you mean "lgbtq is a marxist construct? please tell what marxism is, how that applies in this scenario, and what historically lead this conclusion?" ok, that's what I want to say. What usually comes out is some version of "you don't know what fucking marxism is, shut the fuck up." lol

so what we've proven is a disparate faction of politcal misfits had a hard on for a moderately intelligent, attractively above-average political hack. got it.
