  1. I haven't read this thread yet (and probably won't) but i have a question that may already have been covered:

How is that we can give Israel $38B but we can't provide affordable healthcare in the US?

  2. Paul Ryan is either 1) himself guilty of something pretty significant, 2) aware of and covering for something pretty significant, or 3) a gutless sack of shit with no regard for right and wrong or sense of the villain he's going to be described as in the history books.
I think a combo of 2 and 3 is most likely, but his behavior fits #1 as well.

Federal investigators are reportedly looking into donations to President Trump's inauguration from donors with links to foreign entities.

Sources told ABC News that special counsel Robert Mueller's team has questioned several inauguration donors with personal or business connections to Russia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

Mueller's team has also interviewed longtime Trump friend Tom Barrack, who oversaw the inauguration fundraising efforts, and also operates a fund with hundreds of millions in real estate and other holdings in the Middle East.

Barrack brought in more than $107 million for Trump's inauguration.

Multiple donors who gave up to $1 million to the Trump inauguration fund have links to the named countries, according to public records reviewed by ABC.

Mueller's team has reportedly been asking witnesses about Leonard Blavatnik and Andrew Intrater, two American businessmen who made major donations to the inauguration and have business ties to Russia, according to ABC News.

Mueller is investigating whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, and has so far indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian groups on charges related to meddling in the election.

He has also charged a number of former Trump campaign officials on criminal financial charges unrelated to their work on the campaign.

Witnesses can be impressive.  Senators and Congressmen can't.  They just read questions created by staff.  George C Scott was not a great general.  He was an actor.

what is even the point of this post?

I mean, sure, why not.  Our country has turned into a fucking telenovela, why NOT add a plot twist involving a rapper, his personal basketball league, and Qatari bribes?  Truth.  Fiction.  I freely admit that I can't possible tell you the difference anymore.

    Ay Dios Mio!

right, but with much uglier chicks.

  6. Maybe if he didn't hold an abhorrently racist worldview, among other issues I think we can all bear witness to seeing in these men, women his own age would be more interested in seeing past his insecurity and poor socialization. These young men need therapy, not memes. This kind of shit is a direct side effect of the massive mental assault that is the internet on developing brains, especially when it's never turned off.

  7. There was always a sizable amount of people I talked to in college who said they were Libertarian. None of them will admit to it now and were full Bernie guys last cycle. Whether that makes them populists, or naturally changing from their early 20s to fending for themselves, they're not going back.

  8. I think the worst of the right wing trolls and sycophants stayed on the shag and are now moderators, such as 8mofo. Other folks who think the holocaust is a hoax, like CLH are still there too. I'm glad that they get to enjoy all the scat and dumpsterfire that was left for them. But seriously, I took a screenshot of CR just to capture how absurd it is

  9. The left doesn't have more socialists. They have 90s Republicans who don't think gays are icky, and immigrants are BAD. Libertarians are dead. That ideology has been destroyed.
That's a really good observation because it describes me more closely than I've ever been able to when asked ("you a dem/ liberal?"). I just want a government that takes only what it needs and does the most good with it. The free market is great, but just like the government it needs checks and balances. People's personal lives are just fucking that, personal. Worship how you please but leave me out of it.

    I think that's about it.

  10. Fair enough.
Along those same lines, I would like to have a foursome with Taylor Swift, Zoe Saldana and Jennifer Lopez, purely in the spirit of making a statement about race relations in America and the need to reach across the aisle without discriminating.

Serious answer.  The GOP is about 65 million people, not elected officials or party people.  These 65MM people all have their own ideas of why they choose to ally with the other folks, and what they want.  Usually it's because they think they can get what they want better by allying with that 65 million than the other 65 million.

Why even answer? This means absolutely nothing.
