Okay, I'll shut up after this.

There was a Sherlock Holmes movie, Murder by Decree (1979), with an all-star cast. Pretty good. The great Christopher Plummer plays Holmes. He is working against a corrupt gov't official protecting the Ripper because he is a royal. When Plummer comes upon the man now wounded, he stops only long enough to say (again, Plummer's voice):

If ever you fall under my hand, expect no mercy.

I suppose it has nothing to do with the subject of the thread and has just randomly crossed my mind.

Basil Rathbone is the only Holmes for me.

They’re selling merch for a literal concentration camp. I assume it will all be bought by folks who call themselves Christian’s too.

    That’s happened before.

I chatted with my sister this week.  According to my sister, my brother and father watch the same videos we see, but they laugh and giggle at it.  Then they pray to Jesus at meal time.

“And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.’”

They should be thankful that St. Peter isn’t going to be waiting for them when they get to the other side.

But yeah, remove politics from the equation, and they're great people.

To you. They’re hiding from you the darkness inside their hearts. They don’t see you as the other so you don’t see it.

I know a bunch of those. Funny how there is always a reason, going back to 2016, why they just had to vote for him. I'm sure when he runs in 2028 they'll find a reason why they yet again have to vote for him, even though he's running on a platform of becoming king, and turning the presidency over to his son when he croaks. Because Mayor Pete once said something they don't like.

Yeah. “I’m gay.” That’s what Pete said that they don’t like.

    This.

I have two former coworkers (I'm a teacher). Both boomers. Both claim to be "he's not perfect, but..." category of Trump voter. One was always a white supremacist in hiding and the other wants to be a decent person. The former has embraced taking off the mask and the latter doesn't want to leave her community, so she's accepted a lot of what coworker 1 promotes. Both are equally lost, but for very different reasons.

Coworker 2 is also a white supremacist but is too much of a coward to admit it to herself. She doesn’t think she’s a racist, she just thinks it’s true that black and brown people are more likely to be criminals than white people.

Microwave beeping in general is problematic and should be addressed at the highest levels.  It's a needy girlfriend.  "Beep" i'm ready "Beep" hello are you coming to get me "Beep" are you thinking about my needs "Beep" i'm not sure why i'm so unimportant to you "Beep"  "Beep"  "Beep"  "Beep"  "Beep"  "Beep"  "Beep"  "Beep"

for fucks sake.  i'm chopping veggies.  i know you're done.  shut the fuck up. hold on for 30 seconds.

Mine beeps every minute after the cook cycle is finished. That’s useful information. I reheat food in stages gradually, leaving a two minute break between cycles to allow temps to normalize, and the beeps make it convenient. If you don’t like it then hit the clear/off button after the cook cycle is finished (or open the door to check the temp) and it won’t beep at you.

Got it.  So it all comes back to Trump like it always does.  Guess I need to go look at Twitter and see what he got all the CR'ers fired up about today.   I assume he's acting like a fucking buffoon like he always does.  I could give 2 shits what that idiot has to say about anything.  That doesn't mean the actual planning, coordination, etc. of the strike itself wasn't impressive.  It's ok to appreciate the American military without feeling like you are supporting the administration you know.    But yeah - I'll see my way back to the Stars or recruiting threads which can hopefully stay devoid of the rampant TDS that infects every fucking discussion on this board.

Do Moscow and I’ll be impressed. Assuming the Israelis hadn’t crippled their air defenses first and had already been running sorties unopposed for days/weeks.

Yes, quite the shock that the U.S. is boasting about a complex military operations.   Never seen that before.  Not like there aren't dozens of Hollywood movies dramatizing damn near every material military accomplishment this country has ever had.

Good analogy because the Trump administration is a reality tv production as authentic as any plastic product coming out of Hollywood.

I gotta say, nationalizing the steel factories is a CLASSIC fascist move.

Oh really? How many private companies did Hitler nationalize? How about Mussolini?

Here’s an easier one. What about Putin?

You mean socialist (the Marxist kind), not fascist.

Is there anyone on this board who would prefer serving in a high post in government where you had to constantly lie because that's what your boss does to having the story:

"Yea, I told the lying sack of shit to his face that I wasn't going along with his constant stream of bullshit. Fired me on the spot."?

The lowness of those appointed by and working for Donald Trump continually amazes me.

The thing is is that they’re wholly unqualified for the jobs they hold so they dare not risk their positions by contradicting Dear Leader. Wtf else are they going to do that would pay as well if they left a cabinet job for which they’re horribly unqualified? That’s exactly why they were appointed in the first place.

One of the greatest foreign policy blunders of all time. Or at least it was the start of a chain of events that constituted one. It was the principle motivator. Declaring a national home for the Jewish people didn’t have to mean the creation of a Jewish state but their were advocates and influencers involved who always had that goal and that was the result. So one people granted a second people the land of a third people and created a situation where there will never be peace under the status quo.

Also, since the establishment of the state of Israel, they’ve received more aid from the U.S. in the form of weapons and cash than any other country so it’s pretty hard to argue that we aren’t a big reason they’ve had the success fighting their enemies that they’ve had. That’s been on full display in Gaza and Iran just recently but it’s been official U.S. policy for decades.
