No way they over turn the result, but Massi should be fired for flat ignoring the regs.

Technically there's no result yet - I don't think anything changes but there is an ironclad case for it.

$5k fine or some stupid shit is all that will come of it.

Manufactured drama, all of it. Stupid.

Shouldn't be that way. If Michael Masi doesn't ignore FIA regulations to make up rules on the fly then Lewis is the race winner. At the very least he has no business being involved in the sport going forward.

They should have pitted Hamilton when Max came in the first time.  That was a lot of laps to hope there wouldn't be another safety car that would close the gap.

Under VSC? Maybe but that's a really hard (maybe impossible) decision to make when you're running away with the lead. IMO

Can't do shit about the SC

They only let the cars in front of Max overtake the SC, what the actual fuck.

Only two ways to handle that situation and Masi chose the 3rd. We can disagree on the Turn 6 decision but the bottom line is that Lewis makes up the time and/or position easily. No reason for the race to be decided in this way. No fucking reason at all...

    Edit: a word

Race day plan C for Mercedes will be to have Bottas stuff his car into the wall and pull out the safety car for Hamilton to either pit or nurse his tires for several laps. Here is your parting bonus check Valtteri.

Max Verstappen: “He’s a different driver than me, less aggressive. He doesn’t know how to race like I do. I can’t blame him for that either, because he was never able to learn that like I did from my father.”

Was it the child abandonment that did the trick on the track? Maybe the finesse of repeated spousal abuse? If all that fails he could just crack Lewis' skull with a wrench like daddy taught! I'm sure he learned a lot from that piece of shit.

I'm not talking about fuel economy. I'm talking about carbon output. But hell, I'll go with what you're saying. It doesn't line up with what I read it about it at the time, but it was a minor point that doesn't change anything in the big picture, either.

Whether his personal trajectory is going more toward sustainability is irrelevant, when he still flies private, all over the world, all the time, drives his supercars after claiming to only drive the electric (to save the world), etc. He's still virtue-signaling and being a raging hypocrite with that bullshit. And nobody said Lewis needs to be 100% pure to have a say. These days, anyone can have a say. But there's a difference between talking the talk and walking the walk.

For example, one thing Lewis could easily do to help is to fly commercial. He'd be in First everywhere he goes, which would be 'living like a king' to most of us, and it would probably make the biggest possible impact on his footprint. But no. Lewis: 'Do as I say, not as I do'.

I think the bigger picture is that while you can say he's not 100% walking the walk in terms of climate change etc., it's probably a bit unfair to focus entirely on his individual carbon footprint while failing to mention the 30 million he's pledged towards diversity in the sport, for example. Virtue-signaling via handlers or not, that's a commitment that nobody else in the sport has come close to making and carries far more weight in my mind than a few charter flights.

I just answered the question. Do you have a problem with that? All that shit happened. I didn't make it up.

If you think there's something interesting to talk about, then bring it up.

Just surprised to see you so wrapped up in all the LH hate is all. You used to be more measured in your commentary.

Off the top of my head...

    - Says meat production is killing the planet/atmosphere, but flies around the world with his dogs in his own private jet; apparently even just the dogs from time to time

    - Claims he's selling his private jet for environmental reasons (really it was because of the tax scandal), then continues to fly private, just not in his own jet

    - Claims he'll only drive his Merc & Smart electric cars, then is spotted less than a year later driving around in Monaco and LA in some of the many supercars he owns

    - Has his supercars hauled on his diesel flatbed to and from the places he drives them, to keep the mileage down

Did LH kill your dog or something? Has to be something else worth talking about before the biggest GP in recent memory.

  10. The amount of mental gymnastics & whataboutisms from the Max crowd in this thread is unbelievable absolutely 100% on-brand. Helmut & Horner have the whole lot thinking they're the victims week after week.

Eh, no. Max had moved to the right of the racing line. Lewis had plenty of room to fly right by him.

Maybe he was confused? Maybe he got slow radio intel? Regardless, Lewis is obviously under no obligation to make the pass before the DRS line if he saw it as a direct disadvantage. Max was penalized for standing on the brakes in an unsafe manner, not for Lewis' decision - I don't think that's debatable.

Worth noting that IF his DRS game worked it would have resulted in yet another penalty for gaining advantage while surrendering position. I'm losing count here.

And once again lets remember that this incident stems from Max missing a corner entirely on his own, re-joining the track in an unsafe manner, blocking his championship rival and gaining a lasting advantage.
