    Hart was fired?

    I misspoke on that...

reports are he is stepping down, but he is only 60 and makes $560,000 a year and just completed one of the best seasons for SMU in a long time and in a lot of ways including fundraising and facilities.....perhaps he is wanting to go out on top, spend more time with the wife or grand kids, has some "issue", wants to "take some time" before going elsewhere for another 5 or 6 years....who knows

he is also getting a new president that has been very supportive of athletics at Texas (and should know that SMU alumni have expectations) vs. Turner that was indifferent for a long time.....so it seems like an odd time to leave

i'll guess they have a plan in place

the timing seems interesting for "having a plan in place" though

Hartzell has not started yet and won't for a few more months....I would wonder did Hartzell ask them to clean the house up a bit before he started.....did he know Hart from dealings with SMU in general and SMU wanting in the Big 12 in the recent past and did not like him (or the opposite)

are the Big Cigars at SMU tired of Hart and Hartzell said "I give a shit about academics so clean your sports shit up before I start".......is Hart worried there will be an academic focus that will make athletics more difficult (doubtful)

does Hartzell really want to step in on day one and not have that position filled and that is one of the first things he has to deal with.....at a university that I believe is looking to make some academic advancements sooner than later....does a new AD want to start before his new boss (taking over for a guy that has been there 2 decades) starts.....and starts with what should be some high expectations all around

  3. one would have to wonder how appealing the job is after they just fired a guy that got them into the ACC, got their football stajium expanded, hired the corch that got them into the football playoffs and otherwise seems to have been doing a good job

I know they can throw money at anyone, but generally AD jobs are not ones like corching where you job jump for every little opportunity to make a small advancement in status and pay and instead you hang out for long periods of time as long as the heat is not too hot

I know a lot of people will probably say well Hart was there 13 years and what did he do before now, but he did get them some decent years in BB with LB and he had Moody renovated and he made what looks to be their best possible BB hire recently too

I would think a lot of candidates would be wondering what exactly the expectations are and how realistic they are.....and I think a lot of candidates should know that Hart was hamstrung by Turner that was there for decades and was not all that proactive for a long number of years

North American University? I think that’s where Akeem Joffer ended up after UoUS.

I didn’t realize or forgot that A&M-commerce was moving up to FCS. Luis Perez isn’t walking through that door though. We’ll streamroll them.

    East Texas A&M now

  5. sorry not sure where else to post this....it was not my kid it was some kid at the store and his mom and then me

the grocery store has a little door barely above grocery cart height that slides open so the cart guys can push the carts in right to the front of the store and it is right by one of the regular doors

I am walking up to the store and there is a little kid and his mom and they are heading to the door and the little kid makes a beeline for the small cart door and his mom is clearly not happy, but was not able to stop him in time and he goes right through it and waits for his mom in the area by the carts......so as I walked up I ducked down and went through the cart door as well......the kid was looking at me like "he just did that too" and the mom was looking back and forth at both of us not happy......no pics of mom she was not all that plus she is clearly a stick in the mud

  6. so I know Sark is not the only one that does this, but how exactly do they work it?

are there 15 plays they are going to call one after the other no matter the situation or 15 plays they are going to call in the first 15, but with down and distance factored in

if there is a kickoff and some knucklehead fields it at the 12 and then there is a block in the back and the ball is on the 6 to start the drive do you still call the long pass down the sidelines play you wanted to open with even though it has less chance of success

if it is 3rd and 6 on the opening drive at your own 22 do you still call the draw up the middle or the curl routes for 4 yards even though you need 6 yards

if you bust off a long kick off return to start and then the first two plays get you 9 yards at their 27 so it is 3rd and 1 at their 27 do you still call the slow developing screen play to the flat that is almost a backwards pass even though you need 1 yard and have been running well on the prior 2 plays

or again is it 15 plays you choose from to run in the first 15.....one of those options seems to fuck you into calling dumb shit "because first 15 plays scripted" and you think nothing of the down, distance, and location on the field

We need Michigan's huge NIL program to get ramped up and take some of this Ohio State momentum away. Otherwise, it's going to be a cakewalk into the playoffs for them every year.

we need lincoln burnt log brisket riley to start winning 10 games a season with wins as a "spoiler" and some shitty losses so USC might keep him for a few more seasons before flushing him and hiring some other shit for brains

  8. in the little bit that we saw Arch I was very excited by how poised he was in the pocket.......I was very excited by his ability to scramble and run, though I hope having him run more frequently is not a major part of the offense and more of a "he can do it when something breaks down" part of the offense

I hate to say his ball security makes me nervous....the ball seemed to come loose at the end of a lot of his bigger gain plays and I am not excited by that.....that is going to require a lot of focusnessness from the coaching staff

Side note- why are we paying qbs this much money?  Evil scheme by jerruh to have 2/3 of the league have their agents point to dak’s contract and say their guy is better so the contract should reflect that?

looking at that and their numbers Mahones should be making $120 million per year

Sure, because JJ damn sure doesn't care about winning. If he did, he would have fired the GM 20 years ago.

so you want an owner that just sits there and writes checks and then questions nothing?......when has that ever worked......you agreed to the deal when Jerry bought the team and that was Jerry would be the GM! 😁
