  1. One good away trip a year and Texas OU is where I'm now at. We had season tickets from 1998-2014. I haven't really missed them. The home environment is too stale and corporate now. And honestly, our fans are lame AF. Yeah, I get the games haven't been great since 2010 but it's like everyone's just going through the motions out there. I blame the giant TV because it makes everyone more passive. It's just not an experience I want to spend money on. Of the two games against USC, I wanted to go to USC than see USC in Austin. The gameday experiences were pretty similar but the added bonus of a trip to LA was too good to pass up.

Plus, mdleast makes some great food on his WSW and the beers are much cheaper.

  2. Interesting morning on the relegation front. Palace up 2-1 on Bournemouth. Huddersfield are tied with Brighton 1-1. Swansea and West Brom tied at 1-1. Stoke down 1 to the Spurs.

  3. I would definitely like to do the drinking around the world at Epcot if I had some reason to be in Orlando by myself. The hefeweizen at Biergarten was a nice reward for racing my ass around the park to get the kids the rides they wanted.

I just don't think CA has enough to do to justify not getting the park hopper. We even used that to ride Guardians late at night back in October because they switched it to a monster theme after 6pm. I agree with you on Maxpass. I wish WDW would take up that option instead of the 90 days in advance ones which puts you at a disadvantage to people who are staying earlier than you and can map out their whole stay.

  4. 2013 show in Dallas was incredible. We upset OU in Mack's last year earlier in the day and finished the night with Matt walking through the crowd at South Side Music Hall singing Mr November. I think Boxer is my favorite but I'm really partial to Trouble Will Find Me.

  5. I think I've asked this before and got an answer but it's escaping me now. Does anyone remember an indoor water slide place. I think it was in Oak Cliff but I'm not sure.

I'll of course pour one out for the GOAT. A 70mm THX screening was always a revelation.

  6. I had to get my sewer line replaced this week from the original 1950s line. They are in the process of tearing up my front lawn and pulling down my half-dead sweetgum that sits directly over the line. I hate my lawn as it is half Bermuda and half St Augustine. I'm thinking of either ripping out the Bermuda side, as it is where most of the line will be ripped out of my yard, or doing the whole yard over again. After I tear out the dead grass and thatch and till up the dirt, what's the best thing to lay down before the squares go down? Any sort of pre-layer that needs to be there to help the squares take root? I'm not going to re-seed as I don't have the patience. I'm just going to get the St. Augustine squares and make the whole front St. Augustine. I may plant another tree in the front on the side furthest from the new sewer line.

  7. Interesting if this happens given all the fears about it. Cannes is not exactly the audience you'd expect to take in a Star Wars movie.

EXCLUSIVE: Solo: A Star Wars Story will make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival, Deadline has learned.

The festival still is finalizing its competition film roster, but organizers won’t find a bigger film than this one. Sources said that the Lucasfilm origin story will premiere in a special screening May 15, before the picture makes its global premiere May 25. The Ron Howard-directed origin story stars Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo, the role made famous by Harrison Ford. Donald Glover plays Lando Calrissian, and Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany and Thandie Newton also star.

The Cannes roster has been the subject of wide speculation, and the festival announced this morning that the Javier Bardem-Penelope Cruz drama Everybody Knows will be the opening-night film, directed by Asghar Farhadi. That and numerous other films have been rumored for weeks, but The Force being with Cannes is a big surprise. Stay tuned. Disney didn’t respond to an inquiry.

Oh fuck me ... who the fuck is playing in the MF next Tuesday?  Only available players are Milner, Ox, and Gini.  Do we consider 3-4-1-2?  But then again, you'd have to have 3 fit defenders.

Clyne should be good. I bet we'll see him for the Derby. Lallana should be back.
